We ordered a few items for pickup from here tonight (Monday, Feb. 8th) and most of the order was correctly made except for the chicken larb. Their menu clearly states that roasted peanuts are included as well as ground chili. The larb was beyond bland. There was clearly no roasted peanuts or ground chili. When I called to let them know, the lady who answered the phone first put me on hold to get someone to help me. The second lady who got on the phone just said, "yea?" I let her know the larb was not made correctly and before I could even finish she says "thats how they make it." Long story short, she hung up on me twice stating that it was MY problem and not hers. During the phone calls she stated that she doesn't make the menus, etc. I even told her I can take a picture of it and send it to her. I live 14 miles away and I wasn't about to make another trip back there for something they clearly messed up on. I am just baffled at the fact that she hung up on me twice and told me it was my problem and that it doesn't matter what the menu says. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will NEVER EVER go back here. I even went as far as to let both ladies know at the beginning of my conversations with them that the other dishes we...
Read moreBirthday dinner gone horribly wrong! We spent over $100 on take out. When we got home and opened our food, we were missing our fried squid and we ordered beef red curry, but got panang instead. When we called to tell them, the man on the phone didn't understand me and proceeded to interrogate me about the missing items, putting me on hold multiple times just to ask me the same questions and getting more and more frustrated. I eventually just gave up trying to get him to understand me.
When we were finally able to start eating our food, we were further disappointed. The curry containers were half full, the protein in the curry was a joke with more vegetables than anything. The portions were tiny compared to the pricing. And the crab fried rice was mush.
There was also something wrong with the fried rice, I think the rice was old because those of us who are the rice all started feeling stomach cramps, including my 7 year old son.
The quality of their food is subpar, and the quality of their service leaves an even worse taste in our mouths.
I'll never be returning and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemies.
Do yourself a favor and get Chinese or...
Read moreWe've been coming to Tasty Thai for a few years. For a long time, it was the only Thai option we had in the Northland. I have really enjoyed their catfish chef's special in the past. We went in this evening only to discover that their prices went up, but their quality has gone down - way down. We started off with the Tiger Cry Beef. It was tough. Really tough. So tough that my wife's teeth are hurting right now because of how hard it was to chew. Then we both had curries - I had the green curry, and she had the yellow. Mine was so watered down that it was more like green curry broth. A good curry should have the consistency of a nice, thick bisque. Instead, it had the consistency of store-bought chicken stock. If it had any coconut milk in it at all, it wasn't more than two tablespoons. I had to actually order a side of coconut milk to put in my curry to make it close to the consistency that it's supposed to be. I'm sad to have to write this because we generally like the people who work there, but now that Thai Orchid has opened up here in the Northland, there is no reason to settle for Tasty Thai any longer. Thai Orchid is...
