It was bad. And I wish we could say otherwise, but it was a rough stay. Here comes a summary of our experience, below:
We had to change rooms because the water was so cold in our original room. It was still pretty cold in the 2nd room, though at least it wasn't freezing cold, just cool.
The AC wasn't working well, and the weather was varying drastically during our stay. It totally stopped cooling toward the end of our stay (fan only).
At around 9:00pm each evening, the AC vents began to smell like #2 (yes, as in poop). So we had to turn off the poorly working AC completely, so the smell of #2 wouldn't circulate around the room. How does that even happen?
The bathroom was tiny, and the tiled floor was extremely slippery. Very few towels were provided.
We found a lady's underpants in the washing machine. Definitely no sanitation between washes and guests at this place.
The lights weren't working properly in the kitchen, so we had to cook in very dim lighting.
Housekeeping had to be requested 24 hours in advance. Also, the housekeeper either stole, or threw away, 2 of our belongings. We really miss those 2 things! When we called the front desk about this, Sophia was indifferent and said she didn't know where our things might be.
Sophia at the front desk was consistently unfriendly and unprofessional. Just terrible.
The properties were old and run down, with pieces of wood missing from the downstairs balconies.
The parking lot was a mess, with potholes, trucks, a huge dumpster and large vehicles that roared during our stay.
The living room was very small, and the little couch was as hard as a rock.
The wifi didn't work. Not once.
When we called front desk to request a cancellation/refund, they said I would have to contact the General Manager, who is only there Monday - Friday. We were contacted by the General Manager, but he never followed up when we reached back out to him several times.
Our room keys stopped working the night before we checked out. So we had to mosey over to the front desk and have them re-activated. No "sorry for your trouble," just a plain Jane reactivation of our keys.
To end on a happier note, the good things were: the location, the washer/dryers (which didn't work great but at least they were there), the comfy beds and the fact that it had a kitchen. Everything else - awful. We would never...
Read moreUm.. ok, WOW! Now THIS is what hospitality in this country used to look like! Been getting very demoralized by the typical level of service quality carried throughout the hospitality industry, but this place is an absolute oasis. The amount of complimentary items available either at the club house or in the rooms is beyond expectations. YES- there is a slushee machine and soft serve machine available at all hours. Some of the complimentary breakfast items are also available throughout the entire day.
The room we stayed in was SPOTLESS. Like- ACTUALLY spotless. Not to mention a full kitchen in-room was a bonus.
Only top of that, Lincolnâs very own âTaco Innâ has a location directly behind the property and I highly recommend it. Literally 200ft behind Annabell Gardens and itâs fantastic.
⢠Only odd quirk to me was their infrastructure for guest internet. Every room is set up with its own individual residential internet connection; I.e. full modem from Spectrum in every room. Catch 22 for me b/c at least I know no one else can be floating past my data, but at the same time- I canât be completely sure since they donât have full control of their network. Somebody could still be connecting to the equipment from a previous stay, siphon your data and youâd never know it. But to be fair, Iâm a bit paranoid around now WiFi networks. Obviously this isnât going to be a big deal if youâre just connecting the kids games or something, but honestly itâs the only rough corner for me at this place. Oh- TVs were a little confusing too with two separate remotes. Not sure that we ever figured out how to get the cable box to work, unfortunately, but Samsung TV Plus had our backs once we found the TVâs factory-shipped remote.
Everything was truly immaculate. The workmanship on these units was better than that on my âl-u-x-u-r-yâ apartment. If you need to stay here for a day- a week- a month- you will be comfortable! Highly recommend staying here; breath of fresh air in a world where hospitality businesses are trying to tighten...
Read moreWhen my father and step mother came to visit last month, they asked us to recommend a place to stay. We did some research and found Annabell Gardens. We were very impressed with the amenities and the rooms. All were updated and appeared to be very comfortable. We recommended them to my folks. The stay was mostly as expected. When they checked in, the room's air conditioning was not working, but they were quick to find another room for them. Now what happens next is why I am very disappointed with the hotel will never recommend this place: On the last day of their stay, my step mother went out to the car, and someone had hit it behind the rear wheel on the fender and bumper. Whatever had hit it left a paint mark of a light teal blue. After a brief search of the grounds, we discovered that the property owns and operates a small street sweeper, about the size of a golf cart, that was the same color as the paint transfer on the fender, and had a scuff in the paint about the same height. A police report was filed, and the officer agreed that this was likely what hit the car. They tried to contact the general manager to talk to her about this, but she refused to speak to them. They then filed a claim with their insurance. The insurance company contacted the hotel, but Annabell Gardens refused to accept any responsibility or even offer to help with the deductible. They didn't apologize or even offer any concern that the event occurred on their property in any way. They decided that the $500 was worth losing customers over. I will never stay here, my folks will never stay here, and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Customer service and trust is a very big deal to us, and I'm sorry to say that Annabell Gardens has violated that...
