Do not stay here if you don’t want a cheap decent place to stay. Not sure what people are expecting staying at a hotel that’s $60 a night. If you have IGH, Marriott or Hilton expectations on a $60 hotel…. May want to reconsider your life choices.
First, staff members were all incredibly nice and friendly! If you’re scared of thick accents, get over yourself.
Second, I only had two complaints about the room.. the AC didn’t work and it was 100 degrees outside. That sucked, I talked to them, the front desk guy came to look. He didn’t know anything about the units…. Poor guy turned it from AC to fan and thought it was cooling…… I kinda explained to him a little bit and shortly after, he brought me keys to a room across the hall. Perfect. A room with a working AC! I quickly moved my stuff over and enjoyed the rest of my night. The bed was harder than my preference. But you’re at a hotel, you don’t get to pick the mattress. I’ve stayed at expensive hotels with rock hard mattresses….. pillows were nice. Sheets were extremely clean. The couch was even surprisingly clean. I usually don’t touch hotel couches with a 5ft pole. The fact an econo lodge has a couch in the room that’s clean. Amazing! The room itself was clean except for some of the corners and parts of stuff showing the buildings age…. It was very quiet! I didn’t hear shit through walls. Doors suck though. And you have access from outside and hallway on the first floor.
My second complaint, the floors in my second room could be cleaned better….. I will admit it. But it wasn’t a deal breaker. Had I been staying more than one night, I would have asked them to clean the floors while I was at work. And I’m sure they would have!
Breakfast is breakfast for a $60 hotel. Get over it. Go to a high class hotel and pay for it at their restaurant instead. They serve cereal, yogurt, bread (I didn’t see what bread products they use, and a toaster) juice, and little hostes cinnamon buns. If you don’t like it, don’t eat it.
Overall, for $60 a night, this hotel met my standards. When it comes to econo lodge, i actually have higher standards for them than any other budget hotel. I normally stay at comfort or Radison brands through choice. I don’t know what it is about Econo, but they 90% of the time hit the nail for being reliable cheap comfortable and clean. There has been maybe 2 that I will not go back too. 10/10, I’d come back...
Read moreMain complaint is that the picture is not what you get. The reviews were also NOT accurate. Booked through Expedia.
Positives: It was the lowest price. And quiet between rooms. Great water pressure. Car can be parked just outside door in well-lit parking lot with great dog walking grass space. And no bed bugs. That's about it for positives.
Air: Air was cold cold, worked great, but emitted a continual loud shrieking UFO laser noise that was not pleasant for sleep.
Beds/Bedding: No bed bugs was the only positive. Nothing good to say other than that. Old mattresses. No mattress covers! only a top sheet tucked in over an ancient tiny felt pad. Nothing stayed made during sleeping and you awaken to laying on the old mattress. Hubby requested extra blanket. Smelled freshly laundered and was folded, but it was full of burn holes and actually nicotine stained on edges. Pillows had only outer cases. Only one of the four pillows in the double queen room was not stained (hoping it was just sweat or drool) Very gross.
Bathroom: VERY tiny. Toilet not kept maintained. See pictures. Could be rust from shower overspray. Tub does not drain. Shower curtain hangs in the undrained water and gets soaked. Floor gets soaked. There's simply no way to adequately clean that tub. Spiders apparently liked the extra moisture (see picture)
Staff: Nice enough but not terribly friendly. For those who care during these days of Covid, the breakfast bar is unmanned. When she did refill, she used gloves but no mask. Not kept well stocked. Very slim choices. Nothing hot unless you count toast. Mini Moo creamers had been left out and curdled. Cream cheese was warm and squishy like it was left out also but tasted okay.
We really don't like to leave bad reviews, but when the pictures and reviews that inform public decisions are so far off, they need to be...
Read moreThe same dead bugs (plus more each day) and the same piece of white thread were on the floor in my room while I was there. I also noticed that, when I came back in the afternoon, my TV was always set for a different channel than where I’d left it in the a.m. On Wednesday afternoon, I asked the woman at the front desk if someone was supposed to vacuum the room every day, and she said yes unless I had the do not disturb sign. I assured her I did NOT and the same bugs had been in my room since Monday. Her response was, "Oh, I will tell her" (referring to the cleaning woman). I also told her that when I returned every afternoon, my TV was always on a different station from CNN, the one I watched. She casually said, "Oh, she likes watching her soap operas when she cleans." I said, “Well, I resent that. That’s my room; for 3 days, that’s my room. Why can’t she at least return the station to MY station? I end up going through the channels to find CNN since I’m not familiar with your channel numbers here.” She said, “Isn’t there a TV guide in your room?” In other words, to this hotel staffer, it’s OK to inconvenience a guest, who has to look for the TV guide, find the correct channel, and switch the TV – so the cleaning woman can watch her soap operas in my room! Does she also lie down on my bed? No wonder the bugs were in my room all the time! She had no time to clean because she was watching her soap operas. I would never stay at this Econo Lodge again, nor at any...
