We travel to Lincoln for 1 to 2 weeks every year, and this has been our go-to hotel. But this will probably be our last year at this hotel. We were there 7 days and 6 nights. The bed was not made or the carpet vacuumed--not once--during our entire stay. On day two I asked that the room be serviced. What we got was fresh towels, which was nice, but we ran out of toilet paper and had to go to the front desk and ask for some. On day four I asked again for the room to be serviced and again got fresh towels. This time they took the trash out and mopped the bathroom floor. But took the slip mat out of the shower without replacing it and, again, we had to go to the front desk to ask for basic supplies (toilet paper and facial tissues). It's one thing to be overlooked on a busy night. But six nights in a row? After having asked on two separate occasions to have the room serviced? That's not a one-off. That's a pattern one sees in places that are chronically understaffed, where staff are overworked and under trained, and generally not set up to succeed at their jobs. I'm not looking for another hotel because of the lack of room service or even the lack of toilet paper. I'm looking for another hotel because of what that lack says about how this place treats its most...
Read moreThis is a typical Hampton Inn near the airport. It is just over a mile from the terminal at the Lincoln Airport. There is no on-site restaurant, however, complimentary breakfast is served in the morning. There is an on-site indoor pool and gym. Unfortunately, I did not get to use any of these facilities. The business center looked to be sparse, but usable with two computers and associated printers. The internet was easy to connect to and has better internet than some hotels I have been to with a download and upload speed of 16 Mbps.
The room that I stayed in was a “1 King W/fridge Nonsmoking”. The room had been cleaned and “disinfected” before my arrival and I was told so by the tamper-evident tape on the door before entering. The bed was comfortable for a hotel bed and I had a good night's sleep. I am lucky that I can sleep through almost anything though, because the noise from the highway outside of the room is constant and very audible, especially when a large truck passes by. Overall the room was as expected and acceptable.
I would stay at the hotel again the next I'm in Lincoln and need to be near...
Read moreI was really skeptical as we pulled up. The area around the airport is not well maintained and this Hampton Inn looks a little worn on the outside (not as bad as some of the other hotels though). I was blown away when we walked in. It’s probably the second nicest looking Hampton Inn we have ever stayed at (it’s our preferred cab in when traveling). Only complaint is that both beds had huge low spots.
We stayed at another Hampton Inn in Lincoln the week before and this one is much more contemporary. The biggest difference was that this one had more limited TV channels. Nothing good for a preschooler. The i80 Hampton Inn had way more channels and included Disney Jr and Nick Jr.
Standard Hampton Inn breakfast. Easy check in and check out.
Perfect bathroom for fitting an entire pack n play in and being able to close the door AND have space to get to the toilet if absolutely needed. So nice to not have to go downstairs for the bathroom or go to...
