Couldn't give less than a one star rating. Unbelievable experience!!! We are out of towners visiting with family for a weekend event - this place was close enough so we booked a room for the weekend. Upon entering the room we found no towels, washclothes, or hand towels - the room smelled of feces, there were only two channels available on the television, and the bathroom was utterly disgusting.
We only stayed one night and promptly checked out before 8 am!! We went to the Church to attend the wedding we were in town for and hit the road thereafter to return home. The following day, which would have been Sunday, my Husband developed this intense itch and burning on his foot - by Monday his body was covered with a rash and what looked like whelps - he complained of burning and itching like his body was on fire.
We went to the emergency room and he was diagnosed with "scabies" - of all the things I have only heard about from others. This hotel is the only place we had been and laid our heads - so we contacted them and were basically met with an apology, here are some points to use towards your next stay and a very subtle "shut up and leave us alone". As if we would ever stay here or any other Econo Lodge for that matter. Customer service is appalling - they never considered a refund - POINTS!!!...

The front desk attendant was incredibly friendly and efficient, getting us checked in quickly and leaving us with a local pizza recommendation. The office/common area is clean and neat with plenty of seating, a public restroom, washer and dryer, a fireplace, and a welcoming collection of plants from one of the employees.
The room was exactly what I expected. It was clean, everything was in good condition, the functions functioned, and the nod to kitschy MCM decor was a nice addition. The bed was nothing to write home about, but it wasn't loud and I slept well enough!
The bathroom did not have a fan, which was a bit bothersome. However, this hotel gets bonus points for having really, genuinely hot water and a well draining tub. My needs are few but those two are a must.
The location is not exactly scenic, but it was not problematic and it's close to everything else. There is a Sheetz across the parking lot. They provide a small free breakfast in the common area, but we did not take advantage of this amenity so I cannot speak to it.
Overall, this was a good experience for the price. Everything matched my usual expectations, and they provided a much needed solution at the...
Read moreLocated in beautiful Williamsport, PA, the EconoLodge is situated adjacent to Sheetz which, all things considered, might be the best thing there is to say about this hotel. We stayed in a room on the 2nd floor, and if there's an elevator to the 2nd floor from below....well, we were not able to find it. We walked up the stairs on the end of the building which, upon close inspection, were rusted through in numerous spots and in obvious need of repair. Our room was a bit plain and in need of some type of decoration. Space was limited, particularly in the bath area. The beds? Well, a corpse would not have known the difference, but I'm guessing that this is what it would feel like if I had to sleep overnight in a coffin: stiff and unforgiving. The breakfast buffet suffered from lack of attention to keep it filled with sustenance, particularly milk for cereal and other things that milk would go with (donuts, for example). At the height of the breakfast rush the crowd waited a good 5-7 minutes before someone showed up to remove the empty pitcher and re-fill it. No eggs or sausage present, and the one waffle maker in use could not keep up with demand.
Not really my cup of tea, but the price was right and it was located close to our morning destination. Two stars for those...
