I was forced to look for a last minute hotel reservation due to events in Long Beach, I ended up choosing this one. I reserved the room in advance, called and asked about extra fees/deposit and was told there’s nothing to worry about, that my card would be charged the day of check in. Got to the hotel around 10 PM friday night, I was told that the deposit was $200 and they would not accept the card already on file for the room. As I stood off to the side to find a credit card to pay the $200 deposit that I was told was able to go on the fricken debit card, a couple that came in two separate cars tried to book a single room but the lady at the night desk told them that their deposit would be $400 for some reason so of course they left. Finally got to our room, dirtiest hotel I think I’ve ever laid eyes on. Mold on the bathroom ceiling, pink sludge along the edge/corner of the tile in the shower, inch long silverfish bugs, and the bathroom fan sounded like the motor was dying (no wonder the bathroom ceiling was moldy) Not only that, but if you’re booking a room specifically with a fridge in it you won’t get one unless you call the front desk and ask “why does my room that i booked online with a fridge/microwave have zero fridge/microwave?” Be warned, if you book a queen bed it’ll probably end up being no larger than a full size mattress and be careful walking past the television set because the TV itself is screwed into the entertainment center, yet broken on the top corner so it leans forward ready to fall. Signs all in the hotel rooms about it being a nonsmoking property but the hallways REEK of marijuana and cigarettes and I actually found a half smoked joint on the top of the supply closet door which was directly next to MY door along with half smoked joints/cigarettes lining the staircases. Worst part about this experience is that once it was charged to my card Friday morning it was non refundable so even with all the mold, smells, noise, stained/scuffed walls I was stuck in this hotel because I had already been charged the morning of and I couldn’t be refunded to even go and find a cleaner hotel. Grocery store and cheap eats nearby, don’t go on a walk past dark though. There wasn’t too much wrong with the service of hotel staff other than the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the handle being ignored. Otherwise they seemed friendly, new towels everyday, and Saturday night I came back to my hotel room to find a fridge and microwave which I greatly appreciated it was a nice surprise. The main point of contention with my stay in this hotel is simply the quality of the hotel room for the price I paid. My husband and I were on the last day of our honeymoon and needed a place with close proximity to the airport. He had never been to a theme park because his country doesn't have them and so we visited Disney. When I went to check-in, he waited exhausted in the car. By this point we had been to many hotels throughout our trip. Check-in started as per usual and the receptionist told me I would have a $200 deposit for incidentals. I nodded, nothing new, and handed over my credit card. Her entire attitude changed. She told me I /had/ to use only cash. I informed her that wouldn't be possible and I had not experienced that anywhere else. She continued insisting I go over to the ATM and take out cash. I still told her that /it wasn't possible/. I live abroad and I did not feel comfortable with the situation.||I said, I would talk to my husband about it. He was just as puzzled as I, and came back with me to listen to what she had to say. ||Suddenly she started saying that credit card was possible, but she didn't know if we'd get our money back. Excuse me? As if handing over cash (untraceable) didn't sound sketchy enough, she was saying we might not get the credit card refunded. She then started saying, "People are complaining. Oh it might take a month." That completely different from "You might not get your money back". What??|We kept trying to make sense of what she was saying. We asked: "When do you cancel the transaction?" Upon check-out. "Okay, then let's make sure it is printed on the receipt at check-out." Oh, no, no we don't do that.|(???)|My husband was extremely exasperated at this point. He wanted to know how we could claim our money if it wasn't showing up. She pointed to their telephone number. ||I ended up having to mediate the situation and convince my husband that the charges could be taken care of through the credit card company, if needed. |At the end, the front desk lady changed her tune again, now insisting we'd get our money back.||She did NOT know what she was talking about and caused more stress than necessary. She was also just plain rude when she demanded I give her cash.||When I received the check-out receipt the funds were clearly marked as canceled. (Contrary to what she said.) Read moreWe stayed here for 8 days with my family. Deposit is & 200 which is fine but in our room there is no fridge, water bottles, microwave and kettle! Only, iron with iron board and dryer! Check-in late due to flight delays and need to eat somewhere. I asked the receptionist what time coffee machine open. She said 7-9. 2nd day, ( Tues) we're out and back about 20:30. I don't feel well. Feeling under the weather but I don't want to ruined our holiday. I just wanted a pot noodle. I went to reception and tried to push the door and it was closed. I asked the lady if I can get a hot water. She turned and said to me it's close at 8pm. I said to her that I spoken that lady herelast night she said 9pm. That lady is very rude and not even say sorry. I said to her I don't think is fair! We don't have any kettle, microwave and fridge in our room and your asking for 200 deposit and you can't give me a hot water! I got back to our room so upset. After 5 days ( Friday) when we got back, there is a fridge and microwave in our room. No words, or phone call that they will provide. they just leave in our room. Even though we put no disturb in our room. It would be nice to call us that they will provide at least we know. After 8 days, we are ready to leave. We had a phone call to remind us that check out is 11am. My son gave the key to the reception but when he asked for deposit. Lady said it will be in this afternoon. My argument is you are very quick of asking for deposit but not quick enough to return deposit back. Only half of 200 you give. He received £86 that afternoon of 8/10/24 and he emailed you and said it was an error. My son emailed you again and you said after 5-7 days? The second half?. He still waiting for remaining balance of £64. You don't know how to look after your guests. We travelled a long hours flight and we are all very frustrated in this hotel. Kettle is more important than dryer or iron board especially if your guests travel from a long journey.
