Where to begin? The restrooms from the basketball court are always dirty, Cars park to smoke, the skate area is also full of druggies. The restrooms INside the park building next to the gym have been very dirty lately. Whatever happened to the elderly white lady? At least she use to keep them clean. Because the other staff doesn't do much besides provide info and flirt around. 🙄 specially that 1 young female that walks like a duck back and forth the place.
Basketball seasons? Don't even bother signing up your kids. The referees' get paid $$ on the low to side with certain teams. (Heard one of them say thank you to one of the residents from a team). Majority of the coaches scream at the kids non stop. And when it comes to games they use Profanity. What type of supportive coaches are those? Just like that 1 bald coach I believe he coaches the Spurs. Yup specially him, he has some type of favoritism there🙄. Let's also mention the girl(#4) who's in the Bulls this season. Referees also play favoritism with her. She plays dirty yet never gets called out for it. Rumor is that there's a relative who works there 🙄. Anywhoooo...
Winter price was expensive, practices started super late, majority of teams didn't have a coach, and on top of that they charged for registration since October but didn't start til like February. 🙄 The "mean" coaches teach the kids to play dirty. Scratching, stepping on the other teams feet, tripping them, pulling their jerseys, poking them, etc. Not to mention the kids are always using Profanity(insults) on the other kids without even knowing them. It's just bad there nothing but paying $$ staff and others on the low. It sucks because the people who register their kids for the 1st time there don't know this. You are better off signing up your kids at private basketball clubs. 🤷🏼♀️ my kids definitely came out upset from this season and they heard and noticed soooooo many things going on between certain coaches...
Read moreThe park has improved greatly, over the past few years. Good playing fields, exercise equipment and playground for kids. Dont know why, the park opens at 0800 hrs but the restrooms are not open until after 1000 hrs. Biggest issue received a citation for violating the 2hr parking limit. But I don't understand if it is VIP parking for St. Francis Hospital employees. They take up to 90% of the parking available on Cesar E. Chavez ln headings towards Birch st. Brought this issue up to code enforcement and they said to call city hall to complain. Lets take care of our parks. Lynwood resident...
Read moreThe park has sufficient space to go for a mild to brisk walk around its' perimeter. I'd say that the distance around it, is about 1 mile to a mile and a quarter. Plenty of parking space, specially between the park and Saint Francis Hospital. From time to time you do find homeless people just sitting at some of the pick-nick areas. Just steer clear of them and you will be fine. Since Saint Francis Hospital is literally the park's "next door", you will also see hospital staff going out for a quick brisk walk while on their break. Nice place to spend some time with your family...
