Hands down one of the best (US) hotels we've stayed at in a very long time. We'd just stayed at the Inn at Rancho Sante Fe (San Diego near) for a staycation/birthday and were very disappointed in the lack of attention to detail and service at an expensive hotel. I almost cancelled this trip because why spend $$$ if it's no better than a Holiday Inn? Outside of design? ||Let me assure that Malibu Inn will not leave you feeling that way. The amount of amenities they pack into their rooms is unheard of. Every time I thought "I wish I had this" I found it. And more. Massaging eye goggles? Sleep Number bed with bed lights and foot heater? Dyson hair dryer? Check. Nice bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary with and fantastic macaroons from management? But of course. The room had the typical mini-bottles but also full bottles of liquor and several bottles of wine outside of the usual half bottles in a fridge. I celebrated a little to hard one night and wished I'd brought my Liquid IV. Imagine my surprise when I found Vitamin C/Energy packets. If we had one minor complaint it's that the shower had no shelf for your personal toiletries. We had an ADA room so perhaps that's why. But there was also a Toto heated bidet to make your booty warm. The room had storage galore. A record player and a nice speaker were provided. Whoever designed these rooms and did an outstanding job. Whomever stocked them should also get accolades.||We got a third floor room right next to the elevator and ice machine. At first I was disappointed because I thought we'd hear the elevator. We didn't hear it once. This did also position us directly above the restaurant. Yes- you can occasionally hear people. But truthfully the ocean wave noise is so loud you barely notice. You can close your sliding doors and still hear the ocean but not the people. The (lovely) restaurant closes at 10 PM so late night noise won't happen. I consider myself to be pretty sensitive to noise. I really wanted peace and quiet. But I'd stay in this room again without hesitation. If you get a room similarly positioned room don't be concerned. Once we closed the doors it felt like our own little sanctuary. And yes, the ocean views are as stunning as they look. Sitting on the couch with the fireplace going, listening to a little music while the ocean waves crash and the seagulls go floating by....just what we needed for our staycation. ||Service was excellent. From check-in, to valets, to housekeeping. Same goes for service at the restaurant. We typically try to venture away from hotel restaurants but don't do that here. We had two lovely meals and wonderful, attentive service. Room service was quick and good. ||If you have doubts about staying here, don't. Yes, it's expensive. But after having spent the same nightly amount for a similarly styled/advertised/destination location hotel this crushed the...

Being my second time here, I knew the valet would be exceptional considering the remarkable service they provided us the first time we ever came. Just as expected the service was warm, welcoming, helpful, efficient, and consistent.
Our bags were loaded on to a luggage cart and taken off to meet us in our rooms after check-in. Hotel check in greeted me with, "Happy Birthday!" which is a small but mighty gesture. It really set the tone for my intention of how I wanted to spend my stay.
Since we arrived early (before check in) the front desk said we could feel free to explore the grounds, while they expedited our rooms readiness. We decided to go to the bar, where Omar made us two Margaritas (no to salt) + (Yes to Casamigos tequila). "It's my specialty," Omar said so pleasantly, and he wasn't wrong. We were barely on our second one when Jessica walked right over to us to explain our room was ready for us.
This time we were on the second floor, which felt just as great as being on the first, and made me hope that next time we get the third floor, just for kicks. Our view was stunning, and faced the ocean straight on.
Before our stay we made dinner reservations on premises for 5:30 pm, just before sunset. We arrived right on time and were seated in the most perfect place, right againt the glass to enjoy the view.
We ordered the potato croquettes, which were honestly so light, fluffy, and delicious. They were finished before we knew it. We also ordered white wine and the sea food Tower, which is completely worth the price. It could easily feed four people who want to socialize and drink wine and order a couple appetizers as a side.
The sea food tower was so fresh, delicately brined in its own natural juices, and finger licking, claw cracking, petit oyster yummy good. I will 10/10 definitely order it again.
In the morning we asked for a late checkout, and the hotel was so accommodating, perhaps because it was a Monday the next day. I would not expect that courtesy always, but we very much appreciated it.
We also ordered room service (which is 24hrs) for breakfast at 715am. We had our breakfast on the patio, which was lovely.
The beds are so comfortable. The sheets are excellent, but there is also a soft to the touch wool throw, which is great for sleeping with the door open at night. We didn't feel cold at all, but stayed comfy and warm as we listened to the waves crash us into a deep and peaceful sleep.
During checkout Efron helped us settle up, and made us feel so appreciated as guests. I definitely can't wait to come back again, and again, and again.
Thank you Malibu...
Read moreWhat a gem! This place was absolutely fantastic. My staycation at The Malibu Beach Inn was a dream come true. The room was beautifully laid out with two 55" tv's that i couldn't pull my eyes away from the ocean view to look at. The king sized bed is soft and plush, giving a cloud 9 effect. The living room area is outfitted with an electric fireplace, ocean decor, and a comfortable couch that is perfect for lounging day or night. I could not possibly go without raving about the incredible beachfront view! Although the hotel was a bit short on building amenities, the room itself was incredibly comfortable giving you very few reasons to leave. The heat from the fireplace combined with the cool ocean breeze is the height of luxury. I will say, the street noise is a bit loud but once you've connected your mobile device to the BOSE mini speaker provided in the room the sound becomes unnoticeable.
Looking for a bite eat? You don't have to go far. Malibu Beach Inn offers upscale dining at their attached restaurant Carbon Beach Club. Here's a tip, head down there for dinner to enjoy the ocean waves and a starry night sky with the comfort of heat lamps. Our server as well as our host was sure to cover all of the COVID guidelines with us and have us sanitize our hands before entering. At this time the restaurant is only open to hotel guests which makes for an even more private experience.
The entire hotel staff was super friendly and pleasant; from the valet to the cleaning lady to the waitstaff at the adjoining restaurant. Everyone made me feel welcomed and very much at home. The welcome note accompanied by the Piemonte truffles was a much appreciate gift as well!
During my stay I had the pleasure of hosting two clients for The Modelpreneur Bootcamp's LA Experience. My clients participated in a day of workshops where we covered branding, runway 101, and goal setting. They also experienced a full editorial photoshoot creative directed by me on the venue's semi-private beach. With little to no interruptions and The Malibu Pier cameo in the background of the photos the experience is very hard to beat!
Would I come back to this hotel? A thousand times, YES! Don't be surprised when this becomes the newest location of The Modelpreneur Bootcamp's...
