My husband booked us dinner in advance with an anniversary note. Not that we expect something, but no body has red it or it’s just not a thing there.
At our arrival, we ended up waiting for a long time before the host appeared and took us to our table. It was not the best table while most tables in our section were empty. We asked our waiter if we can sit somewhere with a view. It was a “no, because those were reserved by the hotel guests”. I guess that makes us “category 2” guests. Never mind, that’s how they do it there. But we did notice that the only nice table that was occupied was about to pay their bill. We asked to take that table whenever it becomes ready and we got a yes.
Soon after we have ordered another couple came in and complained about the same table situation. We said hello, told them we got a strict no when we enquired for the same thing. The couple were celebrating their 13th anniversary. Impressive mileage comparing to us! For that reason we offered them our future spot with a view.
Now listen to this. We finished our seafood starter, I was starting at the sharing bowl and turned one of the ice cubes to find a dead bug. It was a big bug. Look at the size of the lemon and the size of the bug in the photo. It turned my stomach and made me throw up in my mouth a little. Thinking about it now, I have no idea why we didn’t just leave. We should not have stayed at that point but I guess we just wanted to enjoy our special night so desperately.
Honestly, the food was just ok, nothing that I couldn’t make at home with an oven and a pan. We paid the full bill which was just under $400 for just food and drinks. We did feel bad for our waiter, James. On top of all the bad things, he would have to share the tip at the end of the night. We tipped James separately for the trouble he had to go through on this shift and even left a tip on the bill for the team.
Also the table to the left of us, that had a nice view, stayed empty the whole night and we just stared at it. The host could have given it to us and there would be far less hurt feelings. It sucked.
It was our 5th anniversary, which is what I consider to be the first big milestone. We were both looking forward to it. I like to find cute restaurants and post them on social media, but I wish could erase that place...
Read moreWe celebrated my birthday here on May 30th. The food was good. But the manager was very strange. He clearly hates people and his job. He should work in prison, not in a restaurant. He significantly ruined our party. Usually waiters don’t go out of their way and you have to go to the manager. But here it was the other way around. The waiters tried to help us and make our party more enjoyable, but the manager did his best to stop them. In the end, the waiters did everything behind his back. It’s very strange. How does a place like this hire such horrible people? His name is Noan Breeze. We wanted to complain about him to the general manager, but the waiters told us that he was moving to another job in a week anyway. Maybe that’s why he didn’t care about our review? And since he’s a bad person, he enjoyed ruining our party… First, he gave us a horrible table, we asked him to replace it – he refused, although another table was free the whole evening, until the restaurant closed. And the restaurant was half empty that day anyway. I booked a table a month before my birthday and they could take care of it and leave a good table. Also, my guests gave me flowers and we wanted to put them in water, but the manager refused us, telling us to put them on our table. But if we did that, there would be no room for food on the table. The waiters brought champagne buckets to put the flowers in (even though we ordered a lot of bottles of champagne) - the manager also welcomed this. The waiters apologized to us a lot and they saved the evening. The waiters hate this manager and were looking forward to his dismissal. I hope that such a beautiful restaurant will have normal managers in the future, otherwise even an open terrace does not save from a...
Read moreMan I hate to do this but I voiced my concerns to 3 different people and they all looked at me like I was crazy. We ate at the hotel restaurant because it came highly recommended from the front desk staff. Maybe it was an off day for them but anything that can go wrong went wrong. It took 15 minutes to take our drink order, another 15 to get the drinks, we ordered apps at the same time we ordered the drinks but those took 35 minutes to come out, the apps came out cold 1 of them even though prawns were rubbery because they got cold I still ate but you can't eat fried calamari cold so we sent it back and the fresh order was actually really good. The time we got the cold apps we ordered our lunch meals and by the time we ate our apps we still waited another 20 minutes for the entree dishes to come out. They finally come out and my wife ordered medium rare steak she got well done steak and the bread for my chicken sandwich was completely burnt. We kinda just ate what was edible and waited for the waiter to come with the bill. After hunting down 3 servers and the hostess we finally got our bill 15 minutes later. $160 for lunch isn't bad when you're paying 1,200 a night for a hotel room at the same place but to get that kind of service and food I would have been upset if someone was paying me to eat there. I'm sure everyone at the hotel will hate me since I'm still staying here for another night but I mentioned something to the people at the front desk and nobody cared so maybe now something will change. I've owned restaurants among other small businesses so I'm usually very forgiving because I understand things could just be off that day but this just wasn't right. So many other beautiful places...
