When I called to make the reservation, I answered all of the woman's questions which seemed to be to her satisfaction (which was why I got the reservation in the first place). I paid my two hundred dollars deposit thinking that everything was okay. I arrived after the office was closed and the very kind gentleman who checked me in said nothing about my setup. The next morning a man came to my sites and lectured me about the gray water run off and a small leak on the hose that I wasn't even aware of when I set up in the dark (i could have fixed this in a moment). I had to finally cut him off and explain that I worked from the road and I had to get back to my work calls rather than continue listening to him lecture me without any offer of help or a solution. About 5 minutes later I got a call from the office basically asking me to leave. Granted that it's my problem that it was a work day and I was trying to handle my own business while dealing with this problem. I just quickly agreed to leave and in the middle of my work calls. I hitched up and drove to the office to return my bathroom key. That's when I was told that I was forfeiting my entire $200 deposit for a single nighr when I hardly used anything including electricity water or amenities. I understand that businesses have policies. I'm a professional myself. But I was given a spot that had very little amenities compared to others and there were a ton of spots open so it wasn't like I was taking up valuable space that could have been given to another renter. A little bit of kindness and understanding would have gone a long way rather than a lecture and simply being asked to leave then told one night is costing $200. I highly recommend not checking in after hours and making sure that everything is 100% correct for your stay before you set up. NOTE ON THEIR RESPONSE: So now I'm being called a liar. It's honestly so sad that a business can treat someone like this unchecked. I'm not disagreeing with the facts of my rig. All I was asked on the phone was if I had a bathroom and as a new traveler with a rig that has a cassette toilet, I said yes. That was the end of it. I was also inappropriately asked my age (discrimination law would look down on this) and since I needed a place to stay, I didn't think anything of it. When they the woman heard I was under 55, she started asking questions if I had kids/family and if I "fell into the category of being 55+ friendly". Again, I needed a place so I answered truthfully and got the reservation. I did NOT lie about any of my circumstances or my situation. Now instead of conceding to what I'm thinking was a miscommunication, I'm now a liar. This is an...
Read moreExactly 1 year ago before these new owners and managers came in and took over, this park was a dream to stay at, everybody was so friendly and felt like a family, it really did.. but now let's fast forward to today, a little over 1 year later to the day, this park has TURNED into a complete money hungry, power house. New managers think they are the king of all castles and own the place. They treat the guests, not in respect, but as like they are an open checkbook AND then kick them to the curb. The family feeling has long been gone. You've got drunking camp workers walking around, gun carrying anger management issued workerS and managers patrolling the grounds 24/7, just trying to find issues in order to yell and scream at you about, Litterally, Yelling and screaming at you!!!! Don't get me wrong, some maintenance has been improved around the parks, that's a good thing, but when it comes to management and how they run things around here, let's say in the past year they have already been through 4 different managers, 6-7 maintence workers, 4-5 so called patrol and grounds keepers, and I see all new ones in the near near future. This place can't seem to find or keep good workers anymore because nobody wants to work for free or for rude and disrespectful ownership and management. It sucks because this park can be so much more and really be a wonderful place to come and stay like it used to be, but now, just peek in and look the other way because this park has turned into your worse night mare. If you don't believe me, ask all the other residences that have been here for longer then 1 year and they will tell you how great it used to be compared to how crappy it is now. My wife and i r literally the nicest people around and wouldn't hurt a fly, we have helped everybody in the park with anything they would ever needed in the last 3 years of being here, on top of our full time jobs, and now all we hear around the park is how this place has turned into a place that nobody wants to be at. All the activities have been cancelled unless you as a guest want to host and set them up and pay for them out of your own pocket, the park doesn't include anything for the guests, Wi-Fi, cable, guest activities, potlucks etc....... like before all this was complimentary. But now a corporate company came in and kicked all of it to the curb and raised the prices and expect the same results. Please, yes excuse me for my long post, but it just breaks my heart to see they extremely rude managers come it and make this place feel like a prison for anybody else, if you don't believe me, just look at the last few Google reviews on the south forty, all saying...
Read moreThis RV Park is in a great location. Very convenient to stores and many sightseeing opportunities. The landscaping in the park is very nice. Lots of cacti and some palm trees too. That being said, big rigs beware. We have a 45 foot class A and when I made the reservation, I made that clear and was assured their sites were big enough to accommodate us. The roads through the park are extremely narrow and the sites themselves are narrow also. There are only about 10 feet between us and our neighbors. Very tight fit. We are genuinely concerned about how we’re going to get out of here. We would not recommend this park for any large RV’s. It’s awful to try to navigate through this park. If you have a smaller RV and don’t mind being squeezed in like sardines during your visit, you’ll be fine. ||We also had a problem with the owners which I feel is a horrible reflection on the park. We live in our RV full time and travel all over the U.S. We have stayed in well over 100 parks and have very little contact with staff as we stay to ourselves and are out exploring most of the time. While here in Tucson, unfortunately, our windshield cracked and needed to be replaced. We picked a company who had been in business over 60 years and had replaced many windshields here at South Forty, as well as all over Tucson. They were here for 4 hours; very professional; very conscious of not blocking the road (which was difficult as the roads are so tight here). When they were almost done, the owners drove up, jumped out of their car, and the man screamed “who the f* is driving that van?” We, their paying guests, were standing right there. The owner of the windshield company said “it’s mine”, “what’s the problem?”. They explained the van had been spotted going 40 mph in the park. Now, maybe the guy driving it had been going a little faster than the posted 5 mph, but 40?? The roads are so tight here and the RV’s and park models are sticking out in the roads - it would be impossible to drive that fast in here. Anyway, the owners, both a male and a female, proceeded to curse like sailors and threaten the windshield guys, (“you’ll never be allowed in here again”, “get the f* out of here”, etc.). I think it was horribly unprofessional for them to be cursing at people like that especially in front of paying guests. We certainly will not be staying here again and I cannot, in good faith, recommend this park to any of my...
