We stayed at Kihei Surfside Resort #605 for a week on our recent trip. Love the location---it is centrally located and minutes to the beach parks and Wailea. Our room had an ocean view and we always caught the sunset which was beautiful! The apt had a kitchen/utensils to tackle any leftovers. There's a pool on the property which is open till 9pm. The property also has a large lawn/park where you can play games, chill or watch the sunset which is amazing! Parking is abundant and free. The only reason I knocked a star was because there is no AC in the apartment. We knew this when we were booking but once we got there, even with two fans running, with Hawaii weather (not even peak summer) and the sun facing the apt most of the day, it was very hot on most of the days. It seems like they are working on installing ACs in the units so can't wait to go back to an even cooler apartment:)

Unit #305. Great location, awesome views. Unit #305 very dirty and outdated. You can see from the pictures how unfit this unit is for staying in. We would return to the resort, we would NEVER rent unit #305 again. No air conditioning in building. High winds blows door dangerously and they have a warning on the door. Be careful who you rent from, some units beautiful, some are very poor like #305 was for us. Pictures say a thousand words, or a million in this case. Pictures do not lie.

We spent 4 nights in Room 513 and had an enjoyable stay. The remodeled unit had a great oceanfront view. The trade winds died down a couple of nights and there was no a/c, but luckily there were several fans! Unfortunately we had to keep the large sliding door closed at night to keep out beetles that came in through its screen door cracks, so a/c would have been ideal. On-site construction was not disruptive, but nearby street construction was noisy starting at 9 AM each weekday.

I stayed in 108 on the ground floor it was nice to be able to step out to the pool. Normally I don't like ground floor units but this had a nice view of a big park and then the ocean. The unit is small with very little closet space. It was very clean and comfy everything that you would need was stocked in the unit . The owner Elizabeth was very responsive via email and communicated well. I rented it through VRBO. Also for those interested in this kind of thing, a couple of strange things happened in the unit. The bedroom has a double set of louvers and shutters. The louvers are the windows and the shutters are the window covering in the bedroom. One has to open the shutters to open the window louvers then close the shutters but open their louvers to get air to circulate in the bed room. All of this is built pretty well and takes some force to move. I did this and opened all louvers on all three windows in the bedroom and all the louvers on the shutters. When I went back in the bed room just a few minutes later all of the louvers on the shutters were closed tight. Like I said it takes some force to move these. I was the only one in the unit and I did not do it. There are screens on the windows so no one could reach in besides the windows are up high near the ceiling. The other odd thing was I used a nice large beach towel provided in the unit. It wasn't wet so I loosely folded it and placed it on a chest of draws in the hall near the bed room. The place is small and I then went into the kitchen or bathroom. When I stepped back into the hall the towel was gone. I looked all over the unit for it but never saw it again. It was odd it didn't feel scary but I did have the feeling I might not really be all that alone there. The ghost of a past...

Kihei Southside is a special location. It is located on the rocks right next to the ocean. There is a lovely large grassy area that lines the property and is a great place to watch sunsets barbecue and just relax. For those who want to be on the beach this is not exactly on the beach, but a 10 minute walk or Kihei Southside is a special location. It is located on the rocks right next to the ocean. There is a lovely large grassy area that lines the property and is a great place to watch sunsets barbecue and just relax. For those who want to be on the beach this is not exactly on the beach, but a 10 minute walk to the beach. less to the beach., the beach that is next door is a lovely beach where you can snorkel and swim with turtles. Kihei is a lovely destination and the location of Kihei Surfside is just perfect right between Kihei and Wailea.||The downside of this building or the condo that we stayed in is that it is very old and tired. So if you were a person who likes to be surrounded by luxury. This is not the place for you, and even if you were a person that wants furniture that is somewhat comfortable and on the New side, this is not the place for you seating was old and worn, dirty, looking, and uncomfortable due to years of use , the bed was hard and the condo it was in need of a new coat of paint and just updates in general. It is not nice being in a place that brings you down on vacation. We were in room 511 so the view was beautiful although as side view, but couldn’t complain about seeing the ocean.||I definitely do not recommend this condo and unfortunately will not be returning to...

We’ve been staying here at Kihei Surfside for 11 days now. After COVID, we hoped to reconnect as a couple and chose this through VRBO based on the location and positive reviews. Our condo is well-appointed, and even without a/c, the fans and ocean breeze kept us comfortable. And the views are beautiful. But if you are going to stay here, these are the things I think you need to know:||-this is a family-friendly complex, and I’m being diplomatic when I say it is noisy. From 6:30am onward, there is no shortage of screeching toddlers and teens||-the pool is another hub of noise and despite an on-site manager, we’ve just had our second to last evening ended due to a raucous cannonball contest, with parents cheering on the kiddos||-the large common area is a public park and is a popular off-leash dog area. ||-the curved shape of the building channels sound directly into your lanai||-we’ve been woken up every single money before 7am by condo doors slamming and kids crying outside our door.||We’ve stayed at many other complexes||In the past and will most definitely make a different choice next time. I love kiddos, I do! But wow, it’s a lot here....
