My wife and I are both flight attendants. Some months we work hard and rarely see each other. Decided it was time to do something special for the lovely lady to remind her in always in her corner. I surprise her with small grocery store bouquets at home regularly, so was easily inspired to send a nice arrangement to her hotel room, and that's where J.R. came in.
Found him on Google because of his reviews and proximity to the hotel that accommodates us regularly. Called several days in advance to make preparations as streamlined as possible, and J.R. was the most kind and professional representative and owner I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Spoke with him on a few separate occasions to make sure all everything was in order, and every time he had another small suggestion that refined the experience. This is a man who knows and loves his craft, AS WELL as finding joy in the customer service interchange.
While I would never EXPECT this level of service, it was such an honor to have J.R. himself hand deliver my small arrangement to ensure the hotel staff secured them in a climate controlled space for maximum freshness and wow factor. He was able to kindly persuade the remarkable staff to assign a room several hours early so that her surprise would be secure and awaiting her arrival. Of course, as displayed in my pictured shared in another post, the arrangement was breathtaking despite it needing to be small so that she transport it back to the mainland, and the complimentary items so beautifully adorned the gift.
Thank you for creating such a top shelf experience. I hope my review can assure others will not miss the opportunity to work with this magnificent company...
Read moreWhy only 3 stars? because I am a business owner and know how a bad review can stick around forever even if you never had business with the person. In this situation I felt like I needed to review the owner. Last week, I booked a trip of a lifetime to Maui with my grown daughters, who both homeschool their four children. This trip was extra special because it was also my birthday week. Knowing my love for tropical flowers, my daughters wanted to surprise me with a bouquet. They chose Maui Tropical Flowers because of their same-day delivery and early opening hours. Initially, the owner was very nice. However, when my daughter mentioned that the cost of $329 was more than they had planned, and she needed to discuss it with her sister, the owner’s attitude changed. He offered to lower the price to $229 but made a disparaging comment about her "stinginess" and how it would affect his drivers' children having to go to school with no shoes. My daughter felt his tone conveyed disdain without directly calling her an unethical tightwad. He then went on a tirade about his pricing, his famous customers, and other negotiations she did not want to have. Despite the beautiful flowers, the way he made my daughter feel was unacceptable. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and kindness, regardless of how important you think you are. When I found out how he spoke to my very kind and sweet daughter, I wanted to march down to the shop and throw the flowers back at him. But I chose to enjoy my long-overdue vacation instead. I hope the owner takes a moment to reflect on his words and attitude because words matter, and...
Read moreTotal rip-off. Talked to JR on the phone and said that we wanted tropical flowers for our stay in Maui and then to carry them home on the airplane. We discussed prices and agreed to $145, delivered, for tropical flowers in an arrangement. We received at our hotel a bridal bouquet size of mainland flowers, no tropical, long-stem or otherwise, see attached photo. Called JR to complain that we received a small bouquet with no tropical flowers. He offered to send us free tropical flowers when we got home, if we would pay for the shipping. You know the one about "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me?" We will not do business again with Maui Tropical Flowers and neither should you. Added: Had a response to this review from the Owner. He stated: "I just gave you your money back..." not true. He insisted that we pay cash, and he has no information about where we live to send anything. He stated: "you didn’t want to pay a tip for a driver so you had me personally bring them to you at a grocery store..." We paid an extra $20 tip for the driver, and the flowers were delivered to our hotel. Don't know anything about a grocery store, unless the flowers were purchased at a grocery store. I now know that Maui Costco has a similar arrangement for about $50 with free delivery, or tropical arrangements for around $65. $145 to Maui Tropical Flowers is a total rip-off. So sad to have such an unpleasant, no aloha,...
