Quiet slice of paradise on Keawakapu Beach, which allows you to walk all the way to Wailea, if you wanted to. Literally six steps from the condos you are on the beach, but if you prefer, there is a covered lanai overlooking the pool and grassy lawn where you can enjoy a sand free day of soaking up the sun and watching (and listening) to the surf roll in. Condo 308 looks out over the beach, with palm trees, surf and sand as far as the eye can see, with other islands in the near distance. The lanai is the perfect spot for morning coffee, an early evening cocktail, or even enjoying the sunset, although we actually prefer to go down to the beach for that for the full 360 degree immersion of gorgeous sunsets and lapping waves, plus the occasional conch shell being blown as the sun dips below the horizon. ||||Condo 308 is freshly renovated with everything refinished to the highest specifications. Furnishings are modern with a nod to the classic Hawaiian feel, without being kitschy or pretentious. Beds and bedrooms are quiet and very comfortable, bathrooms are clean and fresh, decor is very tasteful, and kitchen is perfect for those who like to do a little cooking themselves as well as enjoying all that Maui has to offer. The ultra quiet Bosch dishwasher was a very nice surprise, too!||||The condos even have two new elevators and shopping carts for those who like to mainly self cater, but don’t want multiple trips to the parking lot or to climb stairs with bags full of groceries.||||Hale Hui Kai is steps from a couple of restaurants on the beach, or a short walk (or drive, if you prefer) from all that Kihei (just North) has to offer. If you prefer, Wailea (just South) has all the high end shopping and dining anyone could ever need, if that’s more your style. We have enjoyed both immensely in both locations.||||All in all, Condo 308 has provided us with everything we hoped a beachfront Hawaiian condo could provide us and so much more. The location was even better than we thought it was, the beach has to be one of the nicest anywhere in the world, and to be floating in tropical waters as a sea turtle nonchalantly paddles by….well, it’s the stuff you think only happens in staged tourist videos! But, it happened to us!||||I don’t know what the views and interiors of the other condos are like, but the location and views from Condo 308, not to mention the interior furnishings were all better than we could have imagined. Read moreWe spent 5 delightful days in a second floor condo at Hale Hui Kai and can't wait to return. I thought the condo was a great value for the price. You're really close to the beach, and we enjoyed breakfasts on the lanai watching the ocean in the morning. The beach was amazing and all of the folks we met from the building were very friendly and welcoming.||||The only real negative was loud construction going on in unit 310, above our lanai. It has been completely gutted so there were no windows and we could hear power tools, banging, and men shouting for most of the day--even on weekends. ||||Overall, the condo was in great condition, very clean not remotely worn. The space was perfect for 3 adults and had everything we needed for the beach: beach towels, beach chairs, and a big umbrella. The kitchen was well equipped too: good quality pots and pans, mixing bowls, measuring spoons/cups, and both metal and plastic utensils. The only thing missing was a whisk. ||||Both bedrooms and bathrooms were cozy, comfortable and attractive. They don't have much natural light because the bedrooms share a wall with the main hallway and the windows line that exterior wall. Even light sound definitely carries between the bedrooms and from the hallway. For example, we could clearly hear conversations in the next room or in the hall. If you are a very light sleeper or couple looking for privacy, this may not be a good fit. However, I'm a light sleeper and didn't have a problem at all. The hallway was generally silent at night from 10pm until around 6ish. Technically the quiet hours are from 10pm-8am, but usually I'd hear children's voices heading to the beach by 7am.||||I just can't say enough about the location and landscaping. This is really a beautiful property, I loved coming home to a gorgeous grand entry and walking through the airy open hallways, lined with lush plantings and dark wood. We're all gardeners, so we really enjoyed all the flowering plants everywhere. There's an easy path to the beach that a wobbly 85 year old had no trouble navigating. We enjoyed the lounge chairs and tables out by the pool, they had a great view of the sunset. ||||WIFI was free and worked well. There's a restaurant next door but we never ended up eating there. There's also a small pool open...
Read moreBeautiful condo UNIT 208. ||||Imagine waking up in the morning and taking a walk on the beach which is literally steps from your front door. ||||Enjoy basking in the sun and swimming in the warm waters. ||||Very well appointed with all necessary amenities throughout. Great layout. The living room has a nice couch with two recliners. Nice large flat screen TV with satellite programming. ||||The kitchen has Granite countertops, all plates, utensils, pots, pans, coffee-maker, microwave and everything you need to cook great meals during your stay.||||The balcony has a great view of the ocean where you can sit out and listen to the sound of the waves over a cup of coffee in the morning and later over a glass of wine watching the sunset. ||||The bedrooms are large and comfortable. No TV, but you really won’t miss it. Bathrooms are nice and clean. The master shower is a nice large walk-in. ||||Would recommend stocking up at Costco after arriving at the airport. Costco is right by the airport. The airport is about a 30 minute drive from Hale Hui Kai depending on traffic. There is a Safeway about 8 minutes from the condo, but be aware it is super expensive. Seems like every time we went to Safeway we spent $100. ||||Overall a great stay. Would definitely stay in...
