Our trip to Medora was made even better by our stay at the Badlands Motel. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. One of the best features was being able to park right in front of our room—super convenient, especially when traveling with kids.||||The location of the motel is ideal for exploring the town and its attractions. While the Medora Musical is not within walking distance, it's just a short drive away and an absolute highlight of our trip. The show was packed with talent and offered fresh twists on Theodore Roosevelt's story. Carolynn loved the costume changes and fun songs, making it a memorable experience for the whole family.||||Another perk of staying at the Badlands Motel is its proximity to great dining options. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast at The Farmhouse Cafe, just a short drive away. The breakfast sandwich and fruit parfait were the perfect start to our day.||||Overall, the Badlands Motel offers great value for the price, with its clean, comfortable rooms and excellent location. If you're planning a trip to Medora, I highly recommend staying here. It truly made our visit convenient...
Read moreWe were treated cordially upon arrival at the hotel and the desk clerk confirmed our stay for 2 nights. The next day we visited the national park and returned at about 2 in the afternoon to find our keys had been deactivated. I went to the lobby and they reactivated the keys and when we reached our room, we found they had not cleaned the room or brought any clean towels. When I went to the lobby to tell them, they made no comment, but gave us clean towels. We left to go see more sights and when we returned several hours later, the room still had not been cleaned. It never was cleaned. When we checked out the next day, my wife complained and requested a discount. The manager stated we had received a great rate, made no discounts, and made no apology. We had just stayed at a beautiful Holliday Inn in Sheridan, Wyoming that was crowded for less money. The Badlands was probably at 20% capacity. It was old, the beds were only full size, and it was overpriced. I didn't mind those things that much, but the attitude was very poor. I would not recommend anyone stay there. Everything else in Medora was wonderful. Go see the sights, but stay...
Read moreThe stay and everything was fine. The issue was when I returned home and found out that the amount I was charged for the room was $110 instead of the $78 that I was supposedly charged the night I reserved a room at the front desk. Some of the fault falls on me as I did not make sure I received a receipt. I do not believe that I was given one, but if I had, I did not keep it. Please make sure you do this AND keep it.
After finding this out I initially called the company and was told that even if I provided a receipt that $110 was the amount that I was "supposed" to be charged. After a few emails back and forth with the motel it was apparent that I was in the wrong and they had no interest in rectifying this. I made suggestions that they talk to the lady who worked that night to try to find out what could have happened, but I don't feel that they ever cared or wanted to look into the issue. I'm working through my credit card company to see if there is anything they can do about it now. I'm writing this review as a courtesy...
