Mellow spot offering steaks, burgers & other basics, plus brews & wines in homey digs with a patio.

We were staying in town at the Rough Riders Hotel. We got into town kinda late and ask what was open to eat and were referred to the Boots Bar & Grill. Lets just say it was Wonderful!! I had no idea what chokecherry pepper jelly was, but knew that I liked fruit with pork, so I had to try the Grilled Pork Chop with this crazy jelly... The two went together perfect!! I wasn't too crazy about the blanched brussels sprouts, but I had plenty to eat. My wife got the Fish Basket, I sampled it and it was great too!! On our second night in town... we were running late again, even later than the night before and ends up this was the only place open. NO regrets!! This time I just had to try the Bourbon BBQ Burger and my wife got the Killdeer sandwich. Both where very delicious!! We were stuffed both nights!! I don't know if we will ever be back in this area, but if we are... we know where to eat!! Service was great both nights. The town drunk was a little loud on the first night, but didn't bother us since they were across the room. I met the manager briefly while purchasing a bumper sticker from their souvenir case. He seemed very nice and was eager to help. We Highly recommend stopping in here for a great meal and cold drink!!

Came in on a Saturday evening with our 2 boys and got a table right away. We ordered chicken and the walleye and a ribeye. Food was excellent but unfortunately the flies were so bad sitting at a high top table because every time the door opened I suppose more came in and when the food got to the table they were constantly on it. We were spending more time shooing flies than taking bites. It was very difficult to enjoy our meal so after a few bites we got it togo and left. Our server was excellent and the food was great! Just wish there was something they could do about the flies. It was like that at the pizza parlor too. Probly just the time of year. Some of the ceiling fans in the area by the bar where we were sitting they were off. Maybe that would have made a difference, or some kind of restaurant grade fly traps. Not sure, either way we will definitely be back to Boots Bar and Grill! Strawberry Jalepeno Margarita was very good! Thank you Jake for the excellent service!

Went to Boats after the Medora Musical. It's a busy place where you have to wait and seat yourself. A waitress finally pointed us to a table by the games. Once seated, our server took very good care of us. We started out with drinks, tall, double, Markers Mark and coke, which were nice and strong. For appetizers, we ordered the Bison Meatballs in a marinara sauce. They were very tasty. For entrees, I ordered the Dakota Walleye, which came with asparagus and risotto. Hubby ordered the Braised Lamb Shank, which came with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. For dessert, we shared the Bourbon Caramel Apple Crisp, which came with ice cream. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. Well done, Boots!

So we got in two days ago and decided to go over and grab a bite to eat and drink. We walked in and took a seat at the bar. We had a couple of beers and then I tried one of there Montana Mules. This was a good drink. We had the southwest eggs rolls that were cooked great and then tried a large BBQ chicken pizza that turned out to be very tasty and the crust was cooked perfect . We went back the next day to do some computer work and had a couple more mules as well as a side of fries. These were also cooked well. The service has been great both times. Just get there early because this place had zero seats around 5. It is a must try if you are in town

Got there about 10 last night after hiking since 4 pm, got in had low tone good country music playing. Had a server come up to us within a couple of mins, got our drinks ordered and took a minute but we order couple of burgers! Just let me start out by saying the bourbon burger was amazing! My buddy got the Buffalo burger was great also! So all of these reviews about not getting service right away, sometimes you can't sit in the shadows and expect to be served. Get off your ass an get a server an let them know your there! Will be stopping at this place Everytime I Come through!

Great customer service and friendly staff, we drove from Fargo during the musical session and restaurants in Medora was full. We stopped here and headed to the bar after we saw two seats open and we were surprised with Bartenders (Bailey and Ashlee) they were nice very polite and fast, crazy fast. Not only that, the food was unreal we had the mushroom burger and BBQ burger with sweet potatoes fries and onion rings were OMG ,,,,, yuuum yummm yuuuuummmm. Highly recommended Also we came back after the show for late drink and chips and guacamole ☺️😉
