Hatlee & Brae is a charming little gift and ice cream shop located in the heart of Medora, North Dakota. The shop is known for its delicious ice cream, friendly staff, and unique gifts.

I visited Hatlee & Brae on a recent trip to Medora, and I was immediately impressed. The shop is small and cozy, but it is packed with personality. The walls are decorated with artwork from local artists, and the ice cream counter is stocked with a variety of flavors, including homemade favorites like huckleberry and wildberry.

I ordered a scoop of the huckleberry ice cream, which was creamy and delicious. I also picked up a few souvenirs for my friends back home, including a mug and a t-shirt.

The staff at Hatlee & Brae was friendly and welcoming. They were happy to answer my questions about the ice cream and the gifts. I felt like I was part of the community when I was at the shop.

Overall, I had a great experience at Hatlee & Brae. I would highly recommend the shop to anyone who is looking for a delicious scoop of ice cream and a unique gift.

Here are some specific things that I liked about Hatlee & Brae:

The ice cream was delicious.

The staff was friendly and welcoming.

The atmosphere was cozy and inviting.

The gifts were unique and locally made.

I would definitely recommend Hatlee & Brae to anyone visiting Medora. It is a great place to enjoy a scoop of ice cream and find a unique gift.

Here are some additional things to note about Hatlee & Brae:

The shop is open from 11am to 6pm daily.

They offer a variety of ice cream flavors, including homemade favorites like huckleberry and wildberry.

They also have a selection of gifts, including mugs, t-shirts, and other souvenirs.

The shop is located at 394 Pacific Ave,...

Disappointed as we didn’t get to taste their ice cream after standing in line for 15 min… the door sign showed they will close at 3:30pm… we walked in at 3:20 and there was a line of 5 people before us and a woman with 3 kids came after us… at 3:30pm the employee serving ice cream started telling people coming into the store that they were closed (I don’t think she could flip the sign to closed as she was working alone) and people said ok and left… then at 3:35 she said told the rest of us that she can’t serve us as she has things to do to close… so 2 people before us and the 4 who came after us all stood in line for 15 min and had to leave… a bit frustrating as the family at the head of the line was ordering a whole lot of milkshakes that took a while, but it just seems poor customer service to not finish serving the folks who made it into the store before 3:30.

Also- current hours on Google are wrong… we came on Monday at 5 because closing was listed at 7 and it was closed and today it closed at 3:30 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think a lot of places are winding down from the tourist season and adjusting their hours.

The store itself is cute and they had a lot of nice flavors of ice cream, milkshakes, chai, coffee, and floats, in addition to mugs, candy, snacks, candy, plush toys, etc. so there was definitely potential for 5 stars if we could have gotten the ice cream and...

Really great ice cream. We love going there, but I’m disappointed in their lack of COVID-19 safety precautions. They don’t require customers to wear masks and their space is confined and cramped. They don’t enforce 6 foot social distancing and in busy times, customers are sandwiched in on top of each other. On top of that, they have huge fans blowing the air everywhere. I don’t like that staff don’t wear gloves. They touch the contaminated till, then scoop ice cream without washing their hands. I saw their bare hands actually touch the ice cream as they served it, and they don’t wash between customers. It’s too bad, because the ice cream is really good, but their safety and...

I stopped by Hatlee & Brae while visiting Medora. Luckily, I avoided the usual long line as most times I passed by, the line was out the door. I ordered the pistachio ice cream, and I’d say it was average. I’ve had some really great pistachio ice cream in the past, and this one didn’t quite stand out, especially compared to some of the other ice cream I tried during my 2.5 week trip. One positive note: the prices were fair for the portion size, which is always appreciated. I did ask if they allow samples as I was hoping to try out the huckleberry as I’ve never had it before, but they didn’t offer samples.

This little ice cream shop goes above and beyond to make you a dessert that's fit for any gloomy day. They have pineapple dole whip flavored ice cream and I asked if I can have a shake made from it, this shake is exquisite and I highly recommend it. Their affogato is also a delight with vanilla ice cream and caramel flavored.

I was in Medora to spend a couple days at Theodore Roosevelt National Park. After dinner Little Missouri Saloon, i decided ed to stop in for a chocolate shake. You never know what you’re gonna get with a shake — too thick, too thin, or what. Theirs was absolutely perfect, easy to sip and delicious! So good!
