We've been here approximately 2 months, I'm an honorably discharged service connected disabled Vietnam Veteran that is currently undergoing chemo therapy at a nearby clinic. In August, following a heart attack I spent 3 weeks at Baptist East which is nearby as well. I use both a cane and walker. I mention my medical history because I require special assistance and when we checked in I was provided a room that is set up for the disabled. It is on the 3rd floor, which wasn't an issue initially given that the facility has 1 working elevator. However, within a few weeks after check in, the elevator began having problems, going thru the lobby I heard guests commenting or complaining to the staff their concerns regarding the elevator. 2 weeks the staff finally addressed the problem, not by having it repaired, by placing our of orders signs on all 3 floors. Given my health this is not only an extreme hardship it is placing my welfare in jeopardy. I would recommend to those that require walkers, canes, etc. and to seniors citizens you to consider other options when choosing overnight accomodations. Secondly, this is the only facility that I've ever stay in that does room inspections. Given that I have nothing to hide so I had no problem initially; however when my grand daughter complainrf that on 3 occasions a gentleman named DeAndre came alone and demanded access to the room, the last time she had just stepped out of the shower. Instead of complaining to the manager, I confronted him directly. Money talks bs walks, as it turns out DeAndre let me know that he can anyone evicted at any time, but if I bought him lunch.....so for 3 weeks when I paid for the room, I made sure DeAndre received his lunch money. But I put an end to it last week. And guess what, today while I was at the cancer clinic DeAndre showed up for a surprise room inspection. At least he brought a female this time. And what do you know ...we failed the inspection and were told move. If you looking for long term accommodations, you may want to take this review under advisement. This posting is totally...
Read moreIt starts with the staff- the GM is Porceana Brounson is wonderful. She helped me with rate questions and even got on the phone for me to help me sort out questions I had with Guest Relations. My wife and I met her team of Deborah Butler, Amber Weatherspoon and Jessica Taylor on their respective shifts and they were always gracious, friendly and totally professional. I have hired and trained hundreds of people over my business career and all 4 of these ladies are top notch. I just can’t say enough good things about them, and even when a customer is acting in an entitled or unkind manner as sadly they do these ladies keep their cool and handle the situation.
The property is very very clean and well kept, especially compared to others I have stayed in. Our room was clean and everything we had hoped for, actually a little more, based on price point. This location is private, tucked away on the back side of a neighborhood but super close to all amenities food, grocery, pharmacy, it’s all walking distance or short drive away so it’s super convenient.
We had our small dog with us and there is plenty of green space for the dog, and it appeared at least in our stay that other dog owners were being responsible about cleaning up after their pets.
In short, I see this is listed as a 2 star place, it easily lands solely among most 3- star or even 4 star accommodations I have experienced, and the GM and staff or 5 star for certain. I have travelled the world and stayed in everything from yurts to the Ritz and the staff rates as good as any I have dealt with. We are here to get my wife medical treatment any this place is perfectly situated between all the care givers we are using, everything is 10 minutes away.
Based on staff alone its a big YES, and the rooms are solidly comfortable, the facility clean and...
Read moreI am currently moving back home across country from Oklahoma City to Richmond, VA and needed a safe place to stay in a pinch for my 3 year old cat and I. Using the hotels.com app I was able to locate this cozy little spot tucked away right off the highway in West Germantown (the second safest city in the state to my knowledge) surrounded by medical offices and not far from the hospital. I felt comfortable leaving my truck packed to the brim both inside and in the bed (obviously covered and strapped down) in the parking lot overnight and woke up to everything just as I left it. The room was clean, comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful. I was supposed to arrive before the 11PM check in cut off but was delayed due to stand still traffic on I-40E for over an hour and did not arrive until well after midnight. I called as soon as I knew my situation and Deborah went ABOVE AND BEYOND assisting me with the process. There was a mishap with the system as she attempted to add the $30 pet deposit and would not allow her to charge my card as it was not on file due to using a third party to book. Due to their policy, she was not able to accept payment over the phone and the front desk attendant coming in to work overnight after her was not able to handle any sort of transactions. She attempted to then remove the pet fee in order to check me in but was stopped due to an error that prevented her from doing so. After about 15 minutes on the phone dedicated to resolving this for me, she eventually got it and secured me my safe haven for the night! I could not be happier with my stay....
