While driving him from NYC to Boston, we were hungrily searching for spots to eat. The Thai Tanic’s name immediately enthralled us with its witty pun. While chuckling, a car rear ended us, setting in motion the series of events that would lead us to dine in this fine establishment. The pleasant owner happily greeted us and sat us in the prime window table.
Every dish we ordered - the dumplings, Crab Rangoon, Pad Thai and cashew chicken was bursting with flavor. The owner asked if we wanted 1-5 spice level and we both chose 3. Fair warning to the bland American palette, 3 packs quite the punch. With the additional order of Thai Ice teas, the spice was calmed and the feast resumed. The spring rolls and dumplings showcased the balance of fresh herbs and vegetables combined with the crispy exterior.
Fried rice with crab meat was a perfect combination of spices, aromatics, and the natural sweetness of crab, elevating the dish.
The crispy duck included house sauce and succulent meat and crispy skin.
