Summary: The food is hit or miss, the service is terrible, yet the atmosphere is okay. Definitely attempt to find a different Vietnamese restaurant if possible.
Food: I had the pho house special and the spring rolls. The house special is a beef pho with beef slices, meatballs, brisket, tripe and tendon. The spring rolls have the rice noodles, pork skin, lettuce, and cucumber. Both tasted very good and I would definitely recommend. However, they serve severely watered down sriracha sauce, with the consistency closer to an oil rather than an actual sauce in an obviously old and used bottle that should have been replaced. Additionally, my friend ordered the Shrimp Bao and though the shrimp tasted good, the Bao itself was so raw and hard, it was akin to a thick block of bathroom caulking. Additionally, there was a SERIOUS issue with the Bao and possibly other item pricing, detailed below.
Service: Visit 1: The waiter I had would walk right past me as I am trying to ask for the check.
Visit 2: They upcharged the Bao, yet they failed to update all the menus with the new price. Yet, still the waiter gave me a nasty attitude and condescendingly stated "It's not a big deal, it's just fifty cents. It's not that much." No, the fifty cents is NOT a big deal, however stating an incorrect price, yet charging something else IS a big deal.
Atmosphere: Though the interior is quite dim, it is good for 2-4 people. Nothing terribly wrong, just nothing...
Read moreThe waiter (short & wearing a glasses) has some attitude towards customers. He never smiles or greet customers. he holds a bowl or dish until customer actually receives from his hands (why don't you just put on the table?); most importantly, this waiter tricks a bill. Even though I ordered #3 pho, he purposely changed to #1 (more expensive one) on the bill--he did it for 5 times so far, so I had to check my bill closely and ask him to make a correction. Moreover, he disappeares from his waiter areas, going into back of restroom and kitchen areas after receiving orders, touching his hat and pants frequently, and serves a bowl or dish to customers (waiter makes such an uncomfortable situation). Also unless you ask him for a bill, he won't bring a bill to you even though he is not busy. He makes customers to come forward to the cashier to pay their bill, making customers not to look close on their bill. So make sure to check your ordered item # and bill amount; again, this waiter tricks bill amount by inputting a higher...
Read moreThis place is beyond fantastic! Servings are huge for what you pay, I left with at least 1.5x what I ate there, and it was so delicious! I got the 57. Bún Chà Giò Thịt Núòng with seasoned pork (Heo), a marinated Korean short rib with pear salsa bao, and a taro milk tea. Cannot say enough good things, I was very impressed! The time between ordering and getting our food was very short; the food itself, as previously mentioned, was spectacular! The server who was working by himself was attentive, courteous, and helpful! Will absolutely be returning!
Returned after 6 months and it's still GREAT! This time I got the Pad Thai, split a lemongrass beef Banh Mi, and a taro milk tea again all of it was soo good! Same as last time no less than half is coming home with me for later, can't wait to...
