Honest Review of Kompose Hotel – Stylish Stay with Room for Improvement
I stayed at Kompose Hotel recently and checked out today. The hotel has a very chic, industrial-modern aesthetic—stylish and up-to-date. It’s not quite luxury like some IHG boutique hotels, but it offers a clean, minimal, and modern atmosphere that many travelers will appreciate. If you’re looking for something simple yet visually appealing, it could be a good option. However, there are a number of areas that need attention to improve the overall guest experience.
Cleanliness & Comfort: Needs Improvement
Cleanliness is my top priority when staying in any hotel, and while Kompose appeared generally clean at first glance, a more thorough deep cleaning is definitely needed. • Floors: I wore socks during my entire stay (as I usually do in hotels), and surprisingly, my socks stayed mostly clean—which was a positive sign. • Bathroom: This was my biggest concern. The shower wasn’t properly cleaned—there was noticeable soap scum on the showerhead and body spray nozzles, and the shower walls needed more attention. The edges of the bathroom floor tiles also showed buildup of grime or mildew that detracted from the sense of cleanliness. • Water Pressure & Temperature: Unfortunately, the shower experience was very poor. The water pressure was extremely weak, and the water never truly got hot. This made it difficult to feel refreshed or properly clean. While this may have been a room-specific issue, it still negatively impacted my stay. I would strongly recommend hotel management evaluate this, as a good shower is a basic expectation. • Toilet: The toilet had to be held down firmly for a full flush to work. If you didn’t press hard enough or long enough, it simply wouldn’t flush properly. • Furniture: The room had fabric-covered chairs, which had visible stains. I didn’t sit in them, but when I moved one to rest a bag on it, it was clear they hadn’t been deep-cleaned recently. Upholstered furniture should be cleaned regularly to maintain hygiene. Amenities: Could Be More Guest-Friendly • No Room Service or Light Food Options: Even though the hotel has a bar and kitchen, room service wasn’t offered—not even for drinks or small bites. For guests arriving late from the airport, that’s a major inconvenience. A small late-night menu would greatly enhance the guest experience. • Microwave Missing: There was no microwave in the room, which made it difficult to reheat food or leftovers. This feels like a basic amenity that should be provided, especially for longer stays. • TV Channel Selection: The TV had limited viewing options. An upgrade to a smart TV or expanded cable selection would be appreciated
I would rate my stay at 4.6 out of 5. The hotel looks good, feels safe, and is conveniently located near the airport. But as someone who values cleanliness and comfort, the lack of attention to detail in cleaning, the disappointing shower experience, and limited amenities hold it back from being a truly excellent stay.
In the post-COVID era, it’s surprising to see cleanliness standards decline when they should remain a top priority. Basic things—like a clean bathroom, good water pressure, and functional furniture—matter more than...
Read moreJan 8, 2025 Worst experience ever !!! We arrived at 1h50 am at Miami airport. 1- We waited for the shuttle, but shuttle service ends at 23h30, no information provided on their web site 2- when we arrived at the hotel, hotel that we booked 2 weeks prior arrival, service took for ever and it seems really complicated. Finally, we got our room key, when we arrived at the room the front desk manager followed us and told us not to open the room, apparently somebody else was already in the room… we were instructed to return to the front lobby and, surprise they overbooked the hotel, which left us stranded, no option were suggested. So at 2h30 am we were in the street with 2 kids. 3- they were not able to confirm refund on the spot, the general manager was suppose to call us regarding the refund, never heard from him. At the end no charges were taken. 4- I definitely will never go back to any of the Kompose hotel, and I strongly recommend you to do the same.
Edit Jan 9, 2025: we were contacted by the manager who made sincere apologies. Solution is being work on. It appears that this situation is the result of an ownership transition. Kompose management is way more proactive in finding solution and reaching out to...
Read moreTucked near the chaos of the airport, Kompose somehow achieves what many massive institutions fail to: simplicity with substance. The space is modern without being cold, stylish without sacrificing function. Check-in is smooth, staff are genuinely kind, and the amenities are curated — not just thrown together for show. There’s a feeling here that someone actually thought about the guest experience from start to finish.
Now imagine if the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine approached its internal culture the same way. Unfortunately, it’s the opposite. While Kompose runs on efficiency and thoughtful design, Miller runs on outdated hierarchy and internal friction. It’s a place where initiative is often buried under layers of administrative power games, and progress gets stalled not by lack of talent, but by institutional favoritism and rigid gatekeeping.
At Kompose, you’re seen. At Miller, you’re often invisible unless you play the politics. One empowers people to succeed. The other filters success through loyalty tests.
This hotel may be small, but it operates with big-picture clarity — something the leadership at UMiami Miller would do...
