I absolutely loved my visit to Uptown 66! We heard glowing recommendations from our friends and decided to try it during our trip to Miami. The outdoor seating and the small taco joint vibe made it a unique and charming experience.
Though it's tucked away, the effort to find this place was well worth it. The menu may be small, but everyone was raving about their burritos, so we knew we had to try them. We were even told that these burritos are so good that it's worth freezing some to take back for our friends – now that's a testament to their deliciousness!
The only downside was the lack of parking options. It's a shame they don't have an assigned parking lot, but we followed the lead of others and parked across the street, making sure to keep an eye on our car from being towed while we enjoyed our meal outdoors.
The fans were a relief in the Florida sun, but sometimes they weren't enough to beat the heat. Nevertheless, the lack of a wait in line to order made the process smooth and efficient, perfect for a quick and satisfying bite.
As for the food, we ordered both the shrimp and steak burritos, splitting them half and half, along with churros for dessert. I couldn't put the burrito down once I started eating it – the flavors were incredible. It is true that the burritos were a bit pricey and didn't come with any sides, but the taste and quality more than made up for it. Everything was cooked to order, and you could tell how fresh the ingredients were.
Personal preference led me to favor the steak over the shrimp, and the green sauce over the red – both were delicious, though. The only slight drawback was that the food came out one at a time, but once we received the churros, we forgot about the wait entirely. They were well worth it, and I can confidently say they were the best churros I've ever had!
Overall, Uptown 66 left a lasting impression with its mouthwatering burritos and delightful churros. It's a must-visit for anyone craving authentic and flavorful Mexican food, despite the minor parking inconvenience. I'll definitely be recommending this place to all my...
Read moreA “strange” situation happened to me and my boyfriend last week at this establishment. I wouldn’t bother writing this review if it was just a random place somewhere but I’m probably one of your most loyal customers at the moment, me and boyfriend literally eat there 2/3 times a week so I think it’s just weird and unfair… we ordered some food for pick up on Uber eats and when we got there we decided to order some extra shrimps. 1st, even though the app was showing that the food was ready, it was not. We had to wait another 10 minutes. 2nd but most importantly, when ordering the shrimps my boyfriend used the wrong debit card and the order didn’t go through, so my boyfriend asked to leave it since we left the correct card in the car and we didn’t want to wait another 15 minutes for the shrimp (the guy said it would take another 15 minutes to get the shrimps done, it’s fair, we were just not willing to wait). Then we went back to the car and waited the 10 minutes for our Uber eats pick up order and when he went to pick it up, the person behind the counter gave him 2 bags. When we got home, one of the bags had the shrimp in it so we thought “Oh! Great! They gave us a complimentary portion of shrimp for the wait 🥰 how cute of them” then LITERALLY THE NEXT DAY we placed an order again and when we went to pick it up, the guy just charged us for the shrimp and said we left without paying for it? How do you make and deliver an order that didn’t go through and expect the customer to pay the next time he comes? We said LEAVE IT because the card didn’t go through, what kind of conduct is that? To be honest, it was really weird and left us both feeling VERY uncomfortable, if felt like we were being accused of trying to take advantage. Which is really sad because we used to have dinner from...
Read moreSummary: Food was cold, inedible, worst burrito I’ve actually ever bitten into in my life because the meat was all one giant wad with fat stuck together in the ENTIRE burrito. And service was not good, guy at counter made me feel like he hated working there or wanted me to leave.
I’ve been here a few times for sit in, normally service is decent since it’s usually busy late night. Dec 16 at 12 AM had take out for the second time and tipped $1, which isn’t required (especially for take out) and not the best tip but the burrito I received was absolutely disgusting. Not sure if there is a correlation here with tipping for take out and quality of food and service, but that’s not a proper way to keep customers satisfied. The steak was all one giant piece stuck together by fat and wasn’t cut at all it seemed. At first, I thought it was just one part of the burrito, but the whole burrito was like that, and all the meat was connected together. I threw the whole burrito away because It was impossible to attempt to chew through the giant wad of meat I have in the photo. Not to mention, I wasn’t notified about my takeout order being complete even though I was waiting at the counter for over 25 minutes, staring at my order trying to get someone’s attention, even tho I politely reminded 2 separate men working the front and floor.
A previous time a worker actually checked my quesadilla and opened the tortillas with his bare hands in front of me, like shuffling a deck of cards. And again, I waited for 30+ minutes with no notice of my order being completed and I was right by the counter. I was hoping the lapse in service was isolated but...
