It was the weekend of my child’s spring break and since I work all week, I didn’t have a lot of time or a lot of options to take my son somewhere to swim and stay the night , I originally booked through Booking.com, which is usually pretty good but since the first two hotels I stopped at couldn’t take me in because I live within 30 miles the other hotel the pool was closed, but did not inform us until after I checked in, and my money was gone gone because of the cancellations they told me at 7 to 10 business days for my money would be returned. Anyways, I had a heckuva time finding a place I finally found the Hampton checked in easily. They were super nice, but the reason my writing a review is because after all the headaches and drama at the other spots , this place was a breath of fresh air. Amanda, the front desk clerk was so nice at checkout. I actually asked if I could stay another night and she let me check in easily was no troubles I have stayed at hotels in the past or they give you a hard time the scale made it really easy. I also noticed Amanda was staying busy the whole time I see her when I go in the lobby or going to the pool I noticed she was always stocking something cleaning something or helping somebody kindly at the front desk. I used to run hotels myself I manage to Holiday Inn express years ago. I know how hard it is to find good workers and especially these days but if this girl decides she wants to move up in upper management or human resources or something like that I really hope her boss or the corporate considers her because she does a really great job. I never write reviews this is the first one I’ve written in years , but I feel like this girl deserve that she stood out from the rest. Please do what you have to do to keep this girl !!! Thank you for the...
Read moreWelcoming, not to pleasant. Check in was horrible. I booked through Expedia and it says that my reservation was not popping up. Ok, will I know not to use them again. But the fact that the front desk agent was not to concern about it anyways after he couldn’t find my reservation and I had my confirmation information. So he then just re-did a reservation for me. I book for two nights May 31st-June 1. He only book me for one night! How I knew because I check my account and I’m like wait, I’m here for two nights not one. He just gave me the feeling he did not know what he was doing in first place to begin with. So I call down to the front desk. That guy was long gone. It was another front desk agent that then said I had to check out my room at noon and recheck back into the hotel? So now I’m like huh? I’ve worked in a hotel for 5years from housekeeping, lobby, and supervisor! Long story short. I was getting the run around. Mary then resolved the issue after approaching her the *second time I went down there. Kevin was helpful. Kitchen manager guy wasn’t to pleasant nor had a care to get a tray for me as I didn’t know they were in the rooms! Until Kevin seen me struggling carrying food to elevator and he went and got me a tray that wasn’t to far away from the breakfast area. Kitchen guy, do better next time! You seen I needed a tray you did nothing to help. But the odd thing is the next morning their were trays in the breakfast area. When I was told NO trays are down here but in the rooms. Hmm? Ok! Lupa clean our room nicely. Staff Service was *unseen here. About two years ago I stayed here. This place felt so southern and welcoming. Now it’s just a “hotel”. I’ll pass, will not...
Read moreService with check in was terrible. We used this hotel as it is next to airport and we fly out in the morning. We are Gold level and should have been greeted as such by them saying “thank you for being Gold with Hilton Honors” but that was not as bad as the attitude of the person itself. She did not welcome us or ask if we wanted our complimentary snack as Hilton Gold Member. Did not tell us about breakfast or give us any info for our stay. I told her we are leaving early for airport and will not be charging to room ( this hotel does not offer room service and does not have onsight restaurant anyway) and she said well we hold $50 on CC no matter what, so. She then handed me one key ( even though the reservation is for 2 adults and my husband was standing right next to me). The attitude and lack of kindness is just very disappointing. I almost just left and went to another Hilton but we used points for this room so there is no charge for the room and I would not get my points back, so no point in leaving. On a bright note the room is very nice! King bed and good use of space. Attitude goes a long way to making guests feel good about their stay and vacation! And I don’t mean to sound snotty by them not acknowledging us as Hilton Honors but we spend a lot of money and travel a lot. Also outside in the hotel parking lot has reserved parking for Diamond Hilton Honors so they are aware. Sad really.
UPDATE: I just received a notification that Hilton replied to this review with an apology! A YEAR later!!! I wrote this review a YEAR ago and they just replied today, June 3, 2019! This is so sad...
