UPDATE 4/10/2023: I noticed that photos online were updated since my last stay in April 2022, so I called and confirmed that there were recent renovations - there were, so I gave it another shot. I have updated my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars based upon my most recent stay. Comments since my last visit: This is the "2 King bed, 2 Bedroom Suite." You enter the room directly into the first "bedroom" (which does have a king bed) and then you walk through that "bedroom" to the living room. The other bedroom is a true separate bedroom behind french doors with curtains over the glass so it is private. The room does have two separate full baths (one off the living room with a tub and shower combo) and another full bath attached to the private bedroom. There is also a jacuzzi/whirlpool tub inside the private bedroom. The room smells more like fresh paint rather than chlorine. This didn't bother me as much. I'm not sure what it will smell like once the paint smell dissipates (the room overlooks the pool and during my last stay, the smell of chlorine in the room was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!!) Room configuration is still the same. The bathrooms were not full renovations - more of a "face lift" - fresh coat of paint and new shower walls. Most of the flooring was new vinyl, which I appreciated, as it feels much cleaner than the typical hotel carpeting. The living room was previously cluttered but is now bare. A single loveseat and end table. We mentioned to the front desk clerk that the room lacks a coffee table (which makes it impossible to sit and have a meal in the living room) and could use an extra chair so that more than 2 people can sit. The clerk said renovations were still underway at this time and they may not have gotten to it yet. Another area lacking are dressers. There was not a single place to store folded clothing rather than on top of a counter/desk. Two small closets to hang a few clothing items, but nothing else. There is space for dressers underneath the TV's so it was a poor choice to choose furniture pieces without drawers. I don't believe the mattresses were replaced - just the bed frame and bedding. Mattresses were soft. I didn't notice pool noise and the lighting has improved from the previous stay. I still recommend that the door inside the room leading onto the patio should be reinforced with an additional lock towards the top of the door. I would be very nervous travelling with a little one that could relatively easily turn the lock and let themselves onto the 2nd story balcony. I'm glad I asked for a copy of the invoice at checkout as again there were "safe charges." These were removed when we requested them to be removed, but I still feel it's sneaky to add things to a bill that were not transparent at check-in (and we did not use the safe so I'm assuming this a charge they just add to everyone's bill and hope people don't notice). Jacuzzi in the bedroom did not seem clean and the breakfast was mediocre - I think both of these things are par for the course at this type of hotel so I'm not holding either against them. Overall, the hotel is dated but not much different than other Comfort Suites I've stayed at. I would consider returning again when travelling with my teen as the room provided sufficient space for the 3 of us and it was nice having two full bathrooms and two...
Read moreWonderfully, updated hotel. Let me start by saying if you read other reviews pay attention to how old they are. They did a remodel so old reviews don't apply anymore. Look at only the blue/grey photos of rooms not the red ones as the blue/grey are the updated rooms. Next we are a family that stays at hotels often and always leaves reviews so we know whether to return in the future or not. This is one hotel we will book again hands down without a doubt, and I am super picky about hotels. My husband also works maintenance for 3 hotels where we live, so he looks at everything in higher detail at each stay.
Now onto the actual review. The rooms are plenty spacious. We had a 2 queen room on the first floor. I purposely did not book a pool side room as I wanted to be able to retreat back to a room for kids to sleep prior to the pool closing at 10pm. The room itself had a couch (pullout) and TV upon walking in. Then you enter walk in a little further to reach the bathroom and mini kitchenette area, along with a small closet. The small fridge was a good size as it let us fit a full gallon of milk, multiple drinks, and had a small freezer space. The 2 main queen beds are just after that along with a desk and another TV. The 2 main beds were comfy and had 4 pillows each, both soft and firm pillow options. The bedding was great and didnt make you feel likeyou were in a motel or cheap hotel that went for the cheapest option. The way the room is designed it allows for the couch/pullout bed to be semi separated from the other 2 beds which is a huge plus for us! The shades on the window are amazing and block out 98% of light. I am super sensitive to light when sleeping so a hotel with bad curtains is an automatic never return again. The bathroom was a good size with tub and counter space at the sink. Everything was clean and new. The only potential issue we had was the people above us were a little loud up until about 10pm. My guess is they had kids that were running back and forth with the parents not really caring. With us having kids of our own we try to be respectful of what our kids do especially when not on the first floor.
The pool area was amazing!! First the hotel is laid out very wide so sort of feels like a little maze to get to different areas but there are signs in the halls that make it easy to navigate around. Upon entering the pool area there is a large regular pool with a jacuzzi that is connected and allows the warm water to overflow into the pool. I do not like cold water at all but the pool was decent enough for me to be in with the kids for awhile. Next to that pool is another large pool but for little toddlers and kids so it's shallow and has water coming down in two areas. The overall room felt huge and was designed well to feel comfortable.
Breakfast was good and had things like eggs, sausage, cereal, bagels and pastries, yogurt, and even waffles. Usually we make waffles but the line seemed long for whatever reason so we did other things this time. The seating area had plenty of tables and chairs along with high chairs. Definitely a lot of kids were at breakfast.
Staff were friendly each and every time we interacted with them. Overall no major complaints and happy to say we will return...
Read moreWhen we arrived we were pretty impressed by this place, the pool area was cute and there were rooms right off the pool! Ours however was 6 doors away from being the farthest away from the pool. We were there during the week, the hotel was not all that full but still. The room itself was nice the beds were great it was clean the house keeping staff was friendly. The breakfast was standard, waffle bar, fake eggs, but over all one of the better breakfasts. There was a line always for eggs or waffles or the "meat" the poor girl couldn't keep up, I can't imagine if the hotel was actually full. They offered one complementary drink for both my husband and I at the bar which I thought was a nice touch. We stayed two nights. I would have gave a higher rating because over all the stay was very nice, however on our last night my son got a piece of metal stuck in his foot in the hot tub. Mind you it wasn't a big piece about as long and wide as an earring post, but it was stuck all the way in his foot and I hope to God we got it all out. I brought the metal up to the desk to show them, and she said she would speak to the manager... I never heard anything.... she said she would close out the hot tub and get it clean.... that didn't happen and we stayed to almost pool close. The next morning we saw some staff looking at the hot tub but it never was shut down that I noticed. There was grim at the bottom of both the pool and hot tub, that you could feel when walking around. There was some construction guys staying at the hotel it could of come from them, I'm not even sure. The pool structure seemed to be well taken care of there was no real metal anywhere that it should have come from so I am not sure how it got in the pool or what else was in the sandy grim at the bottom of the pools. When we checked out, nothing else was said to us, no apology, nothing. That was a little off putting. I would of hated to see someone else get hurt, so I really hope they got it cleaned out. Otherwise it was a lovely hotel, a real treat from...
