We booked this condo Room 809 thru Vacasa. When we arrived we discovered there is a security gate and guard shack to enter. There was no guard or instructions on how to enter. After sitting about ten minutes we moved to a parking spot outside the gate to call Vacasa. We could not reach anyone. Our reservation co formation mentioned nothing about how to enter. |Finally another car came and had a pass code. We followed them in, in order to get onto the property. |Tye property is confusing when you get in. There as an upper parking garage, lower parking garage and outdoor parking that have signs that say “High Top Only”. We looked again at our booking and there is no mention or map of the property or location of our condo. Not knowing we parked outside and started walking trying to find an entrance or elevator. We discovered all rooms are accessed on the west side and all balconies are on the east side. Found an elevator and went up to 8th floor. |We found Condo 809 and went in. |Immediately we were disappointed. As we walked in, we saw the walls were marred and scratched in every room. The pictures in the condo advertisement had clearly been taken 20 or more years ago. The bathrooms are tiny and outdated. The silvering on the mirrors are flaking off on the edges. The furniture is in terrible condition. The couch cushions have been worn down. See attached photos. The room reminded us of a roadside motel type place for college kids at spring break, a place to crash only. |Upon further discovery the floors were filthy. The top of the refrigerator had dust on it so thick I could write my name in it. |We called Vacasa again. All you can do with them is initiate a chat. You can’t speak directly with anyone. They won’t call you back. Very frustrating. All they did was apologize in text and say they could refund our cleaning deposit. We had to basically clean this place in order to stay here. They would not put us in another condo. |This building has approximately 120 condo units and two pools. However, there are only 36 chairs by the lower pool and 32 by the upper. Total of 68 chairs for 120 units. You do the math and you’ll see as we found out. You can’t get a chair to sit at the pool unless you get up at the crack of dawn in order to go down before everyone else. |The positives is the complex is in a good location, they try to keep the outside looking good. Refer to the pic I took at night. We aren’t sure if the other condos are better kept. My my advice is to STAY AWAY FROM CONDI 809. Do not use Vacasa as a booking agent. We travel frequently and this was the worst accommodation I’ve had to endure in...
Read moreI have never in my life written a TripAdvisor review until today. To preface this review - my family has been staying at Edgewater every summer for over 30 years. This has always been a place of fun, enjoyment and cherished memories, however our most recent stay this summer has left us with the worst experience. We stayed for a week the last week of August. Out of 6 elevator banks, only one was in service. This of course was the elevator furthest from the beach and from our room. My grandmother is disabled and was unable to walk the long distance to the elevator and then to the beach because of this she missed time with our family. We called to report the elevator was down and that there was still broken glass in the garage. We called twice about the glass but no one ever picked it up in the 7 days we were there. The elevator company was onsite, but was never able to fix the elevator. The elevator inspection date was also over 30 days expired, making it a huge safety risk. The most abysmal part was having to deal with the president of the board - S. Harris. Our family that lives in town came to visit and one member has a service animal with her due to medical needs. Ms. Harris came up to my disabled grandmother and began berating her for having a dog onsite. The owner of the service animal advised it was a service animal and Ms. Harris demanded to see proof and took my aunt’s paperwork and vest out of her hand, violating multiple ADA laws. When she realized it was indeed a service animal and we asked about the elevators, she began to shout that we could leave and she’d refund us. There was zero empathy from her and based off of previous reviews, I don’t know how she is still in her role. If I was a homeowner at Edgewater, I would be humiliated to know she was the face of the organization. Our room was dirty upon arrival with sand on the floor, dust on the counters and mold on the ceiling and curtains. We could have overlooked all of this, if it wasn’t for the elevators and the manner in which Ms. Harris presented herself. I beg you to please spend your money elsewhere, because she is dragging Edgewater’s name through the mud. We will be filing complaints with the ADA as well as the Bureau of...
Read moreWe stayed in unit 508 this trip. We have stayed at the Edgewater for years starting in 1996. my daughter learned to walk here. We have seen a lot of changes. This was our first time in Unit 508. We have stayed in many units. The Edgewater has gotten a much needed facelift with a new paint job exteriorly and it seems the unit we were in was refurbished with new LVP flooring, cabinets, and new sliding doors. The kitchen in this unit was very well furnished. I really appreciated that. The elevators are new and they are SO much better than the old ones. the units have gotten new patio floors which appear to be nicer than the older ones. The beach is great as always. The attendants are really nice but if you want a front row seat you have to be a tipper! You must get down to the chairs early in the AM to get the seats you want but if you don't tip big you won't get front row. The downside to Edgewater is they do not allow dogs and neither does the beach unless you are a resident. The gated community here feels safe and the guards are always on duty. There are cameras everywhere at the pool. Having said all of that there are a few things that are a little dis appointing about this property. There is NO ONE enforcing the "no one under 14,no exceptions" rule for the hot tub. We saw kid after kid getting in the hot tub. Even though the large sign is right behind it. I literally saw several parents telling their kids it was ok to get in it. where is your enforcement of this rule Edgewater? There is also no one enforcing the music rule on the beach. Literally everyone around us was playing their music on speakers or full volumn on their phones on the beach. We go to get away and unplug not to listen to 4 kinds of diff music esp rap (bleagh) on the beach. one family had thier ipad full volumn w/a 3 yr old playing video games with all the sound effects etc. It was so ridiculous. Our unit : the bathroom is still the old 1990's bathroom. old counters. old tub. old mirror. i think its time they really focus on updating this iconic vacation resort property in every way including the bathrooms. overall this is still a good...
