We walked in and stood for almost ten minutes while several workers continued to walk past us not saying anything. We finally got our names on the wait list. 30 minutes. Not bad, and I was excited to try this place because we tried the other day and the wait was over two hours so we came back during the day. Well, We waited. And then continued to wait when we were the next to be seated and saw 6 open tables, some needing to be cleared that just didn’t get cleared by staff (and were sitting there with no people and just filthy for over 15+ minutes) and the others waiting to have people sat and they just made us wait still. We were finally seated and our server was nice but then said she’s not our only server and we would get random people at the table but she couldn’t say who would come to the table.
The food- 10/10. Service- 1/10. We had so many staff members walk past us and ignore us like they just didn’t care about our experience. I can tell you why the wait time is so significant here- and it was blatantly obvious- the staff does not clear tables in timely manners and it appeared that they didn’t really care. We watched a server seat a family of 4, and one of their children was in a wheelchair. The server/host (the same one that walked past us with open tables and still made us stand and wait) walked them to the table and walked away without removing a chair. Clearly seeing that the child was in a wheelchair. The male in their party had to ask for them to remove a chair. The lack of hospitality was just mind blowing to witness. Because we didn’t have a set server, it seems like the staff gets confused on which tables to even focus on. Probably resulting in customers waiting to give orders.
Anyway. The food was great, but the lack of service and the price you pay to eat here- I’d never eat here at this location because the service was so terrible. If service was better, I’d return.
Really something management...
Read moreThe freshest and best seafood I've had! Luckily, this restaurant was a few steps away from our hotel, Evoke (Destin Platinum LLC). We walked here and saw that it was a small restaurant but after seeing the reviews we decided to eat here. We had a party of 5 adults and one child. Because there were only 7 tables and 6 bar stools, our wait was an hour. After we received a text that our table was ready, we were greeted and seated by the friendly host, Kory. Our waitresses Dakota and Jess were also super nice and informative. They handled the stress of a super busy restaurant well. We went with the waitress' recommendation of getting the Big O. It was meant to feed 2-4 people. However, my 6'2" hubby and I (5'2") ate 90% of it. The seasoning sauce that drenched the seafood, potatoes, corn and sausages tasted so good I could drink it. And it doesn't come in a steaming bag but an aluminum to go tray. The Big O was definitely worth the wait. Our other table guests had Dungeness crab cluster, steam shrimp with heads off, moxx stix, chicken nuggets & wings. No one had any complaints about their food. The key lime pie was also delicious. It had the right amount of tart and sweetness. Just know, don't wear white to eat here. You will get dirty hands😉. Will definitely return for more seafood. FYI, our waitress informed us that the closing time is flexible. They will serve people as long as there are customers...
Read moreIf I could give it more stars I would. First thing I wanna point out is this isn’t like every other chain or family atmosphere that serves seafood. Market prices go for all their sea food. So do not expect a staple price for every visit. Also don’t be afraid to spend money or be worried of Their prices. You get what you pay for! So fresh and servings are great. We were greeted and given a free basket of their house made pork skins. SO GOOD.. Another thing to point out is this is a boil type serving. Hands on eating. I tried the headless shrimp 1/2lbs with 2 potatoes. Was about $16! Normally it would come with corn but they were out for the rest of the night. which isn’t a big deal to me considering I came in about two hours to close. They threw an extra red potato in there for free. The seasoning choices were great. I went with their house special. You could also choose your heat level. I chose medium knowing it was going to be a great spice but also not too much heat to not enjoy my meal. We also got a basket of catfish! $10. The breading was so tasteful and the catfish was tender juicy and perfectly fried. The shrimp boil was soooo good we ended up ordering another 1/2 lbs to go!! So 1lbs of shrimp /catfish basket/ a beer and a lemonade. Potatoes and pork Skins.. we paid about $55 before tip (: I wish I lived here this place is definitely worth the visit if you...
