We are residents of Canada but live on Okaloosa Island for parts of the year. I have only visited the other location in Fort Walton Beach twice. Now that I have children, events and venues who accommodate them are important to me.
We visited the Miramar location today TWICE as they were having their evening Santa Claus visit. My kids (3 yrs and 16 months) were starving upon driving from Okaloosa Island at 10am and so we had to stop for something to eat. Additionally I found that they had one of the very few indoor playgrounds in the area. Perfect to entertain, feed and tire them out - all in one place!
I had forgotten what the interior of any Chick Fil A looked like. Upon entering I was impressed that it looked more like a family restaurant than a fast food joint with many dining tables and chairs (instead of bench seating) which doesn't work as well with highchairs. The aisles are wide enough for families with lots of children walking around and still comfortable for everyone to eat together.
The staff and managers are AMAZING. Customer service is tops. Perhaps I am just used to the poor poor service and scowling employees of Toronto, Canada's restaurants but I must say that I have only come into contact with friendly and genuinely happy folks working in any customer service roles on the Emerald Coast. Therefore the reason we move here temporarily!
The cashier addressed me by name and was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I was there just on the cusp of breakfast ending and lunch starting but she noticed my kids were hungry so she mentioned that I could order the nuggets from the lunch menu now and order the rest in 10 minutes. I also asked about the Santa Claus visit that evening to confirm the time at 5pm (I didn't notice the posters around the restaurants as we hadn't sat down yet). She asked the male manager to confirm.
Can I add that this male manager went above and beyond EXCELLENT customer service! Not only friendly to us, he was always busy around the restaurant whether behind the counter or on the restaurant floor greeting guests or cleaning up - taking every role onto himself and being a super example to his employees. Additionally when I came back that evening at 5pm for dinner and the event, HE REMEMBERED MY NAME! He must have seen a hundred people go through there since the morning and yet he still remembered my name. I am thoroughly impressed because I could just as well never have returned again.
When you have kids (and also 7 months pregnant), I appreciate anything or anyone who makes my life easier. The highchairs have super easy rolling wheels for me to wheel it to whatever table I am at and there are many of them stacked. They have a sanitizer wipe and a plastic sticky backed disposable placemat included. These things saved my eating experience for my 16 year old and made it pleasant for me while he made a bit of a mess.
After our 'brunch' the kids went into the indoor playground which was so clean compared to anywhere else we have been back in Toronto. The sign inside said it was reserved for children 4 and under. I was happy to see that my 16 year old could climb the steps all the way to the top and take the slide down on his own. In the morning there were only 2 other younger children so it was quieter for my young one to play. Once we returned in the evening for the event however there were many older kids in there and playing more roughly and so we only lasted about 5 minutes. Unsure how it is on a normal weeknight but could have been the event that brought out so many kids at once. No matter, we are there to share the space.
The food is A1! The chicken nuggets, burgers etc are cut from single pieces of chicken and not minced and mixed with fillers. I couldn't get enough of the waffle cut fries and neither could my kids. The food came out fast and hot both times.
At the evening's event, the kids both received a free kids meal each (4 pc nuggets, waffle fries and a drink) substituting a milk...
Read moreTERRIBLE experience at this Chick-fil-A . So glad this wasn’t my first encounter or I would never return. While in line to order for a "dine in" experience, Trisha was the only front counter worker visible. Brent showed up a few minutes later to the counter and just looked annoyed. The first customer he assisted, must not have been familiar with the restaurant or the hours and he certainly let her know this. "We don't serve lunch, it's breakfast now until 1030". So the customer changed her order. He asked her if she would like any sauce, honey or jelly with her order and she didn't hear him so she asked him what he said, very loud and with exacerbation in his voice "I SAID DO YOU WANT ANY SAUCE, HONEY OR JELLY WITH YOUR ORDER. WE HAVE LOTS OF SAUCES!" I was taken aback. I have NEVER seen a chick-fil-a employee treat a customer like this. I was nervous standing in line behind her and trying to make sure I get my order right in my head so that I wouldn't be verbal attacked as such. Trisha took our order, however our food was delivered without the biscuit. I went to the counter to request it and Brent asked me what I needed. I advised that our order was missing the spicy chicken biscuit. He asked Carlton to get the biscuit and apologized for missing it. I said ok and moved to the pick up area. He looked at me and said "is there something else wrong with your order?" I said "no sir, just waiting on the biscuit" he said "go sit down". So I complied with his request. We waited over 30 mins for Brent or someone to remember we were missing an item after he dismissed me and told me to sit down. Ended up waiting back in line and Trisha finally gave...
Read moreTAKE OFF THE MASKS. I like this location, and the food and staff. Im wondering when the indoor seating will open back up. We will visit more, because we like our children to play indoors while we eat with friends. I like the staff and location but this review is for Chick FilA cooporate or the owner of this establishment. Im upset to see the indoor seating is closed, and that all of your staff are wearing masks. This is extremely offputting, Its hard to breathe in a mask, and even more so in the heat. It seems like you dont care about employees when they are outside working in the heat. Reflects poorly on your establisment. It is SOOO unhealthy for them, and it makes me feel like chickfila is abusing their team. This is so bad for your health. I want to support good restaurants but not at the expense of your team. Please take off the masks. Enough is enough. I am appalled to see that your staff have to work in a fast pace, and outside in a mask. Take better care of your staff and Ill visit again. Ill remove this review when I hear that your not making your staff wear those toxic masks. I expected more from you chickfila. And I dont want to hear about doing it for safety concerns for the people. Your staff matter most and they seem like a good team, and deserve to have a safe work...
