For the price, this worked well. If hot water doesn't come in the sink, switch to the cold water side. Nice hot water. If hot water is long in coming in the tub, just let it run for a good while. I was surprised and delighted that the water was actually hot enough for a soak, eventually. The bathroom can be pretty cold, so takes awhile for the cold tub to warm up. Refrigerator, micro, mini coffee maker is nice. Bed slept very well! Nice pillows, clean room and sheets. The thermostat on the heater is somewhat erratic. So adjusting was necessary. There is ample room except the bathroom vanity area is a wee bit crowded. Plenty of thick towels and washcloths. And Gideon Bibles in the drawers. May God Bless You for that! An attractive and relaxing atmosphere pervades the breakfast nook/sitting room combination. Good selection of teas and hot water in a pump. Hot food and orange juice available, including eggs and sausage. Very unusual, there was NO coffee. (Only in your room). But I smelled coffee coming through the air vent, early in the morning. An employee had a cup of something in hand, exiting the kitchen/ office area. Maybe if one would ask for coffee....? Carts for luggage and sleeping on the main floor, near to an exit door, made for ease of in and out. I would vote for this experience as very acceptable and convenient. One little concern was, smelling slight cigarette smoke coming through the vent and later that unmistakable smell of men's body wash...perhaps Old Spice. Smells tell me a lot. But yes...we appreciated a good night's rest...nice and...
Read moreThe staff checking us in told me twice what the price would be AFTER tax, it ended up being a lot more. That was the deciding factor in staying there and we ended up very disappointed in that. We stayed at another AmericInn in Bismarck ND on our 8 day trip, so we thought we'd expect the same positive experience. We were wrong. The staff wasn't as friendly, the lobby wasn't as nice, nor was the breakfast or pool. We'd expect the same hotel chain to hold itself to similar standards, sadly we were disappointed. For some reason the hotels in the area were really pricey compared to others on our trip, and it wasn't worth it. It wasn't terrible I guess, but it definitely wasn't exceptional either. We had a mediocre time overall. To the reviewer who mentioned ticks, they don't live in hotels so you should probably be ashamed for blaming the hotel for that...what were you doing the day before you arrived? The smell issue some other reviewers mentioned was sadly corrected by placing overwhelming air freshener plugins in every room; which we immediately unplugged. However, there were no bad smells to speak of. Don't get me wrong, we had a nice stay but in comparison to the other hotels we stayed at during our trip, this one didn't anywhere near meet my expectations, especially after the girl told me (with confidence and more than once) the wrong price and they did nothing about it! Do stay here but with low...
Read moreThis was one of the last rooms available late at night after we got a flat tire on a road trip from Seattle to Charleston, SC. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. No elevators but they do have microwave and fridge. Breakfast was decent (eggs, oatmeal, cereal, juice, bread, etc.) but no signs of any Covid mitigations being taken despite the fact that the chalkboard above the breakfast area said “we got you covered for Covid”. Everything was self serve buffet style. The fridge still had a water bottle in it from the last guest and had two or three slimy smudges like something leaked out of its container (I didn’t take a picture of the fridge because I thought it was an isolated incident). Then the shower had fresh streaks of dirt that I was able to wipe away by running my finger through them. Each of these issues pre Covid are not too concerning. But In a Covid world I question the cleaning standards and the hotel’s commitment to minimizing the...
