We booked a stay here for one night for the Pebble Beach Concours, didn't need anything fancy and figured it would be good enough when still paying an absurd price for this special week.||||Wow was I wrong. From check-in to the actual room, everything was majorly disappointing. Not sure where the 5 stars are coming from.||||First off the place is located off the busy road and it's a blind corner, so be careful getting into and out of the parking lot. Tight spaces.||||We walk into the lobby and notice several people waiting to check-in early around 1pm. The woman at the front is dismissive to them, and even the hotel customer was being rude back while she was on the phone? So weird, I'm already turned off at this point.||||Finally it's our turn. My husband tried to be optimistic about the situation so being his cheery self he asked the woman at the front "So is there anything to do around here?" The woman looked at us and blatantly LAUGHED IN OUR FACES. Didn't even said a word, just laughed for like 30 seconds straight...Then a customer JOINED IN?! Then she finally goes "where are you from?" (still laughing all the while) We get it, the Concours is happening but it was our first time in Carmel/at the Concours and we thought maybe she would have a few suggestions of something that we didn't know about? SO RUDE. We literally walked out in disbelief directly after.||||Then we finally get to the room after being told we can't check in until 3pm, luckily that woman was gone and someone else checked us in.||||We get to the $450 per night room that's deplorably bad. No A/C, extremely humid because you have to leave the windows open (which you have to close at night because there aren't any screens so bugs can fly right in!!!), bed is terribly uncomfortable. This place is old and they only half-renovated. Towels were also rough and you can hear people walking up and down the stairs above the room.||||You'd think they would know that people are paying an ultimate premium during concours week to stay at their subpar hotel and step it up a bit, but these people are miserable and don't care about their guests. The WORST customer service i've ever experienced.||||If you're looking for a quick overnight stop, find a different place in the area that is at least respectful. Not only the people who work there, but the people who stay there are entitled and that think everything revolves around them, and their terrible 2 star hotel where one of the largest car shows in the country happens and you're forced to put up with subpar BS. Patrons included!||||Never again. I hope management see's this asap. Stay was on 8/16 for reference.||||P.S. They still advertise themselves as a B&B but no such thing is provided. Just water and bad coffee.||||P.P.S. Please read the other reviews about mold/mildew, i've been hacking and congested since we left the hotel. The humidity is high and they have no a/c and leaving windows open let's in bugs and makes the humidity worse! These people are lying about it being a safe...
Read moreThe description on the website describes a "luxurious" Inn & Suites. It claims to have a garden area to relax in...let me give it to you straight...
This place is a MOTEL...barely a step up from Motel 6. Hubby & I booked our 1st kid-free getaway in 3 years & came here. To say we were underwhelmed at arrival, would be a MASSIVE understatement. (I cried from disappointment)
Upon arrival, it looks cute...website says you can explore the garden area & there are pictures of a fire pit under a nice looking pergola. It says there's daily breakfast as well. (There is NOT...I get they can't do that due to COVID...but take it off your website!)
We get checked in & walk up to our room. The pictures have a nice stone area in front of the rooms...the area infront of our rooms looked like they just pulled up some carpet...dirty & very unappealing (see pictures). There was also trash on the stairs. We walk into our room & it STINKS! Odd combination of cleaners I'd assume. The bed is not even (the foot of the bed is slightly higher than the head) and only two of the 4 (small pillows...not king sized to fit the bed) had pillowcases. The other two were just the pillows so who knows what was on them. The bathroom door was also scratched & dirty (see pic) and was very difficult to close.
The "garden area" consisted of 4 chairs, a table, and a nice large trash can that drew your eyes in. No fire pit, just a bunch of almost dead plants surrounding it. It was not a garden area, more like a small porch up a couple steps with a rusty handrail & chipping pergola. (See pics)
The rooms are wine themed I guess. Ours was the Tudor room but the pictures in the room were odd. One room had a picture of a weird guy with his arms crossed as he stared at you from the wall as you sat on the bed. (See pic)
The reason I'm giving this two stars is the front desk staff was EXTREMELY helpful when we decided to cancel our reservation. My husband called & asked of we could cancel our other two nights & the woman was very accommodating & said that was fine (she didn't have to). My husband then sat on hold with Expedia for 3 hours (that's a whole other review 🙄) and the woman at the front desk called to see of we had been able to get through. He said we hadn't & she gave us an additional number for Expedia that he was able to get though to & cancel our other two nights. If I could...I would give the front desk here 10 stars.
This was our 15th anniversary trip....and as I mentioned....1st trip sans kids in 3 years, so we were expecting something romantic...this was not the place. If you just need a bed for a night, this place will suffice...its a bed & a bathroom, but if you're looking for something more, fork out a little more money & go to the Carmel Mission Inn...we were...
Read moreWorst place we stayed at on our trip from Dallas TX to Seattle, WA. We were hoping to spend a couple nights in Carmel and decompress before continuing our drive, but after a few minutes at this Inn, we decided we would keep driving north the next morning. The lady at the counter did not get up from her chair so we could hardly see or hear her over the counter, and she came off with a very dry, unfriendly attitude. Despite disclosing that we had 2 dogs (we picked this place due to reviews and amenities referring to it being dog friendly and having bowls/beds for them) there was none offered to us upon check in and none in our room. I had to return downstairs to the desk and ask for some. Our room had the heat cranked to max heat when we came in, and fireplace had paper signs stating to not use it. The carpet was worn with strips missing, and the decor was odd and dated. The outlet for the left bedside lamp was coming out of the wall and the lamp flickered a fluorescent bulb when turned on. The bathroom shower was the highlight of our stay, but it turns out the bathroom has NO FAN! It only has a small window, so after a 5 minute shower, it took all night for the steam to come out through it. Floor creaks by the front door and bed had no fitted sheet, just a loose sheet that kept moving, and mattress was very uncomfortable. There was a random dining chair sitting facing the bed, which we ended moving to the corner by the fireplace. When we came down to check out after 8am, we discovered the office was still locked (sign on door says to call if help is needed after 10pm, didn’t mention when office opens. I called the number and it went to voicemail. There was another set of key cards tucked in the door by another tenant, so i did the same. Also the garden was tiny and had nowhere to walk our dogs, so i had to walk them along the busy street and around the corner to have them do their business on the side of a residential street. Very overpriced and we would have been better off staying at a...
