Best Western Plus Chelsea Hotel — Hotel in Monticello

I had a terrific stay here recently (4 nights) in a King Room. The bed was super comfortable and the room was quiet. They will provide daily room cleaning service if requested and this was appreciated.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and the location is great with plenty of parking.

Free newspaper offered in the morning. Free breakfast with some different options each day.

Note that someone serves you the breakfast. I initially found this a little off-putting, having not seen something like this recently; however, the lady that runs it is very nice and I always did get what I wanted for breakfast and plenty. I was happy with the breakfast options. They did offer biscuits and gravy daily it seemed. Then either eggs, an omelette, sausage, or other meat. Cereal options. Orange and Apple juice. Bananas.

They had a 24x7 fancy coffee machine near the front desk area that could make a variety of coffee, including hot chocolate.

The pool and hot tub area was great and the pool was comfortably warm along with plenty of towels out and available. Note that the hot tub was broken the first night and fixed by the the second. If this is important to you call ahead to check availability.

My husband, 2 daughters (7&2), and I had a really nice stay. We had a lot of fun swimming, ended up having the pool to ourselves. :) The breakfast was delicious. There were a couple different things the second day, and they have a pancake maker (make 2 pancakes with a touch of a button!) with 4 choices of syrup. Lots of toppings for oatmeal. Comfortable beds, nice bathroom, great water pressure and heat, many lights with separate switches to give as much or as little light as desired. Only weird thing was that it seemed the floor was a little uneven in the entry way near the bathroom door and closet. Only complaint is the walls are either thin, not insulated well, and/or the neighbor was a very loud talker (kept me up and I hoped she wouldn't wake my girls). I heard a man playing his guitar and singing in the hallway or lobby but that was pleasant and I tried to focus on the music rather than the loud complainer next door, to help me fall asleep. :) Very nice staff, great food, and overall wonderful visit. As someone who relies heavily on other people's reviews when traveling to somewhere new, I feel obliged to say we just stayed here last night and it was amazing! Doesn't disappoint! CLEAN, which means the world to our family! Smelled fresh, the ombionce is welcoming. Beds and pillows comfy. Clean smelling sheets, crisp, fresh, the room was great. Our flight was delayed and after a Long day of travel we got to MN around 3 am. Pleasantly surprised when we arrived here at how nice the man behind the counter was ( didn't catch his name) but he was so helpful. I literally was reading google reviews about this place in the airport debating on if we should stay and glad we did! Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast in the morning was good for the kids.
