We have passed our local MyPlace hotel many times, not knowing much about the hotel chain, but always admired the beautiful look of the building. This past week we had an ice storm that knocked out power in our neighborhood for 2 days - as our house got colder, we made the decision to pack up and go to a hotel to stay warm and safe until power was restored. We have 2 small dogs, so it's not always easy to find a hotel that accepts them... we did a Google search for pet friendly hotels and MyPlace was first on the list. I called and talked to the nicest man (I think his name was Roger), who answered all my questions and helped us get a pet friendly room closest to the back exit that led out to the dog walking area, which was beautiful, and stocked with bags to pick up our dogs droppings if we needed them. Our room was wonderful - full size fridge, cook top, microwave, etc.... great kitchenette area. The only downside is that there were no pans, plates or silverware to be able to use the cook top and make a meal in the room, but we will make sure to bring those for our next stay, whenever that might be. We live just down the road from the hotel, so we packed up whatever we could from our home fridge and packed it all in the full size fridge at the hotel so our food wouldn't spoil from the power outtage from the storm. Luckily, we got power back the next day, so we only had to stay one night, but we really enjoyed our stay, and our dogs loved our mini vacation there. We were warm, safe, and felt very welcome with our fur babies, knowing they were concerned about their comfort and safety as well. I gave 5 stars for comforts and such, and 4 stars for the rooms, as there are only queen beds (we would have preferred a king size bed), and the kitchenette wasn't stocked with cookware, plates, cups or utensils, but overall, our one night stay was really awesome... very comfortable - 5 stars - highly recommend!!! We will be staying here again for sure... either for a stay-cation at home, or on the road - great place!! Thank you MyPlace, for helping all of us feel welcomed through an emergency situation... it meant the...
Read moreStayed here for the night after a show at Alpine Valley before heading home to Indiana. Was reasonably priced and about 40mins from Alpine, everything closer to Alpine was $400+ a night. Paid $100 for the room and it was well worth it! I was surprised when we walked in the room and the was a full frig with ice maker and kitchen (no pots, pans, plates, silverware, ect.). Did hear someone cough in the middle of the night - not sure if it was someone in the hallway or a next door room. Honestly only have 2 complaints (more so suggestions), Night lights - my stepdad said a night light would be great for people to wake up in the middle of the night to pee or get water. Otherwise you kind of have to feel your way around. The lights are BRIGHT, and unfortunately its all or nothing. Window coverings - the blinds did a mostly great job of blocking a majority of the morning light. But I've stayed at hotels with blinds that kept the room dark in the brightness of day. I'm someone who needs the room pitch black to sleep. Someone in a next door room asked us in the morning if we thought the water smelled weird - I'm not used to city water (I have a well) so it was weird to me regardless, but nothing off putting. Breakfast is like $8 +tax per person, just FYI. Staff was friendly, spoke to Robert to confirm they had our 3rd party booked reservation. The girl working the night desk was also super friendly. For being listed as a 2 star hotel, it was a great experience!...
Read moreFirst and foremost, This hotel is rated as a 1-star hotel on Google maps, which is in contradiction to what I have experienced.
On our short trip to Wisconsin, my family & I with a couple of friends booked my place hotel for a night stay. Keep in mind that I too had my doubts about this place until I experienced it.
Now let me tell you why I have all the reasons to doubt the 1-star rating.
Parking: Unlike its counterparts in the area or otherwise, this hotel won't charge extra bucks for parking. It's free!
Location: Second, the location of this hotel is very good, the area is peaceful with good views.
Cleanliness: Now this is a point where I don’t compromise at any cost. No matter how high profile a hotel is, If the premises are unkempt or not well-maintained, it's a No for me. Our room at My Place was a decent size, bathroom/kitchen/bedding was squeaky clean.
Kitchenette: We prefer kitchenettes for we love to cook food during vacations. Although the kitchen wasn’t too spacious it was very well kept.
PS: for hygiene purposes they provide pots & pans only on first come first serve basis.
Price: We booked the hotel about a month ago because of the long weekend (memorial day holiday) & it was worth it. Most of the hotels were overly booked for that reason & raised their price to almost double, whereas we ended up paying a reasonable price for the same comfort.
Breakfast: isn't included, however, it was available at only $4 if you...
