We originally booked in Burlington but changed locations last minute. We wanted to drop off luggage before visiting family. The place seemed deserted and we were given a room on the first floor. On entering the room, we noticed a strong musty smell like a dank basement. We were in a hurry and thought maybe it was just the AC so I turned it off and we left. On returning later that evening, the smell permeated the entire room. Then we noticed other flaws. The curtains above the AC were filthy. I wash cloth was dirty. The tub had a bit of a ring in it and hair. The wall paper was peeling, carpet frayed and stained, furniture chipped and worn and the air besides being musty was quite humid. There was no facial tissue and when I asked that same clerk at the front desk she said "it's one of the things we're out of. He put an order in but things haven't come in." Mind you, this hotel sits across the street from a Super Walmart. The towels and bed linens were paper thin. When I inquired about the fitness center, I was told it was inside the pool area and the pool was closed and, she didn't have a key. The desk clerk was more about explaining their problems than helping guests. In the morning, we noticed no one in the breakfast area and worse yet, little food to choose from. There was coffee or water, no juice. Eggs that were crusted over and sausage. Packaged muffins which were stale. A waffle machine and some bread with a toaster. That's it. We just wanted to get out of there and if hadn't been so late when we returned the night before, we would have tried to find some place else to stay. On checkout there was a sign that stated: "Leave your keys on the counter, no further assistance is necessary." Unbelievable! I've traveled for work and pleasure and this was one of if not the worst experience I've ever had. DO...

Hot tub totally closed and the pool was ice cold! Asked about it both Fri night and Sat night and got 2 different stories. Fri night told heater turned on should warm up quickly. Sat told oh its been broken for awhile. Never once was there a repairman working on either all weekend. Other repairs needed too. Many parents mentioned outlets in their rooms not working. Ice machines down and doors where the handles you have to push UP rather than down like normal to open. Vending machines completely empty. Also on checkout day where the check out time is 11am they disabled our keycards about 9:30am where they still worked on the individual room doors but not the building so any time we went to put stuff in the car we got locked out . The hot breakfast was your typical eggs sausage make your own waffles and it was adequate. The room sets up are not conducive to families - with the sink and mirror not in the bathroom but rather right outside it. So to brush teeth dry hair put on makeup you would wake up the whole room because of the light needed. There should be some sort of divider/curtain to separate the 2. The beds however were vey comfortable and loved the water pressure in the shower. The biggest disappointment were the employees (except one - Beki Sue she was great!!) They spent most of their day outside smoking. There was one time there were FIVE employees out there at once. And the ones you did encounter were not the...
Read moreClose to a few useful stores, namely the Walmart across the street. Decent price, decent room. Pretty quiet when we stayed, and we were first floor nearish the lobby. Major issue was I'm the morning: we were packing to leave and I was taking a quick shower, and when I got out, I heard my husband saying, "No," and, in my towel, looked just to my right at the door to someone unlocking our door and opening it - thankfully we had the manual bar lock across, 'cause he straight up unlocked it and opened it! My husband said quick they'd said it was housekeeping, so I yelled back that checkout isn't until 11, and the dude outside the door muttered okay and wandered off, not even pulling the door back shut. I slammed the door back shut and went about getting dressed and we left an hour before check out, completely unsettled and uncomfortable. On our way out, we passed the guy, and I asked, again, "Isn't checking out at 11?" He said yes, but just went about his business, no apologies or anything. I helped carry our things out then came back in to check our, and I told him to be sure his cleaning crew knows check out is at 11, not 9:50. We even had our "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. We've stayed here once or twice before, and, even though it's one of my biggest fears, it's never actually happened before. That man is lucky we had the bar down, 'cause things could've turned out way worse for him. So overall, the stay was pleasant, and has always been, but that incident in the morning is enough to make me question ever staying there again, or suggesting anyone else do so. Use your manual locks or even a chair if...
