I had an event there today for my sons birthday. I had family drive up 2 hrs and book rooms to participate in the joyous occasion. We arrived and I checked in to room 201 dropped of bags and began to enjoy family and friends in the pool area as well as the common area of the hotel. Everything we did I made sure to ask permission from hotel management ie sitting in common area, singing happy birthday and cutting the birthday cake. We stayed in the pool until closed. Management came in and let us know it was closing so we cleaned up and piled the wet towels together to make it easier for the cleaning staff. At this point we all go to the rooms that we paid for. These rooms were not discounted as I was told by Assistant GM Tamisha that she can only make changes if we booked 10 or more rooms. While in the room we get a call from my cousin who says don't get comfortable his room has bedbugs. Right after another booked room also has bedbugs. I go and undress my bed and there they were. Not only that but there was trash behind the headboard. Now I had to pack up and abruptly end my sons slumber party. I had to tell parents that dropped off their children that plans changed due to the room issues. When I go downstairs to address my concern I'm told that I would have to speak to corporate. That there is nothing that could be done for me because I had an event and enjoyed myself. I was offered by the manager to have housekeeping vacuum the bugs. I was also told that checking for bugs while visiting a hotel was unheard of. I chose this hotel because I was shown the room prior to booking. I was given a tour of the property by the Assistant GM Tamisha. I'm sure when someone is looking for a venue it's a ideal to tour the facility. Please keep in mind the tour did not include undressing the beds nor checking behind headboards. This evening I find that with series of events management dropped the ball. Management was accusatory, dismissive and definitely not accommodating. I'm very unhappy with the way the night ended for my son. There was not one apology, not one offer to make it right. Video and pictures are available and management accused myself and my family of lying and trying to get a refund. Corporate will hear from me and hopefully they will send the current management team for customer service and critical thinking training.
Unfortunately, I am not able to respond too the blatant lies told by the Assistant GM Tamisha. You stated that myself and my family were vulgar, please provide proof as the hotel has visible cameras through out the facility. In addition, the video cameras will also show us not in our rooms all day as you stated. They will also show that we exited the pool at 9pm when asked by the manager. You will also see no one telling me to clean although I did. (PLEASE CHECK YOUR VIDEO) You are blatantly telling lies on someone who was not requesting a refund, in turn I was expecting to be accommodated as I paid in full. You also stated that you apologize for my stay not being a happy one. Let's be clear I did not stay because the room that I was in had bed buds and garbage behind the bed. You (Tamisha) did not come from behind the wall to speak with me. You sent someone else to further dismiss me. Also, I WAS NOT GIVEN A DISCOUNT. I PAID FULL PRICE FOR THE ROOM. CORPORATE WILL KNOW THAT YOU LACK CUSTOMER SERVICE, CUSTOMER RETENTION AND MANY OTHER SKILLS IT TAKES TO...
Read moreFirst of all, we traveled 7 hours and arrived in the evening on Saturday before a family wedding that was taking place the next day. The invitations suggested we stay there because the bride and groom arranged a discount for their guests to stay with you for their wedding. the hotel was dirty and old looking. It was dusty and had food on the floor in the kitchen area on the first floor. The next morning, we went down to breakfast. There were about 60 guests grabbing good, dripping good and drinks. The tables were dirty so my husband looked around for someone or something to wipe the table. He found 3 cloths on top of the trash can! He used the cleanest 1 to wipe our table. It was chaos. A man came at 9:50 am and began straightening the kitchen area. I can't say he cleaned because he used the same dirt clothes to wipe counters and put all the food away on a rolling cart. Everything was gone by 10 am. He also used a dirty cloth to wipe up the floor with his foot pushing it around the area. A gentleman came around 9:55 to get breakfast and nothing was available. (I had taken an apple and a few muffins for my husband and myself.) After the man was told by the same man that was cleaning-that everything was put away, I gave him the apple and muffins. The guy could have offered him something that didn't need to be cooked just as well! Our room was also dirty. We didn't even take showers as the tub had hair and dirt. The floor was very dirty as well. We didn't take our shoes off the entire time we were in the room. Dusty tv and the mirror had smudges(not small but big) it was also very dusty. The beds were not comfortable either. Enough about the facility. When I booked the room, I signed in and created a screen name and password so that I could revisit the site before during and after our stay. I was sent a reservation text and I was quoted $239.00. I thought it was reasonable because we also rented a car and that fee was similar. We returned our key on Monday morning and no one was at the desk. I called for someone and they never came so I didn't receive a receipt or anything stating my charges. On the long drive home, I checked my bank site and noticed I was charged twice. One charge was for $117.11 and the other was $201.39. I couldn't figure this out as neither matched my original quote. I called and spoke to a woman named Niya. She explained that the room rates are different for each night so that is the discrepancy. This is not the fee I was told I would pay. And I also told her that the bride and groom were supposed to have gotten us a discount. She said that we did receive a discount or otherwise we would have been charged significantly more. She was very rude when I was speaking to her. She cut me off several times and never explained why the fee didn't match the quote I was given and then just hung up on me. She was very unprofessional! For these reasons I will never stay at comfort inn and suites or choice hotels in the future nor will I recommend these hotels to others. I was very disappointed with our accommodations after a splendid day spent at the best wedding I...
Read moreI stayed at the Comfort Inn in Mt. Pocono in April, 2023 for three (3) nights. I was there on business. Our family stays almost exclusively in the Choice Hotels brand for both personal and business trips and have seen many highs and lows with the brand throughout our travels.||The Comfort Inn in Mt. Pocono is a comfortable, clean property. My room was a king suite and appeared to “formerly” be a hot tub suite, however, there is a sign in the room which indicated that the hot tub is no longer functional (which was fine with me because I did not book a hot tub suite anyways).||The room was average, but clean. All lights worked, the refrigerator, microwave, and television all worked without issue. The internet connected with no issues, and I used it extensively to complete a few business-related tasks. In the bathroom, the toilet was fine but the shower needed some routine maintenance. The shower head desperately needs replaced; however hot water was not an issue. The “transition” flooring piece between the bathroom flooring and the main room carpet was missing and therefore, there were a few visible caulking “blobs” visible where the “transition” piece should be installed.||I utilized the exercise room which was fine. The equipment is basic but is in working condition. The exercise room had a television. I did not use the pool, but it did appear a bit cloudy and the hot tub, as others have mentioned, is not functional.||The breakfast was fantastic and the breakfast seating area was very nice, clean, and updated. Breakfast included an assortment of hot and cold foods.||All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The business center did not have a functioning printer, but they did offer the document I needed printed to be emailed to them and they could print it for me. I am sure they do not get many requests for use of their business center, but it was nice they could accommodate me.||I would stay here again. It’s not a Hilton… doesn’t claim to be, but for the area and the price, you can have a nice, relaxing stay in a clean room with a good breakfast. Yes, there are updates that can (and should) be done to the rooms. As others have noted, one of the stairwells does smell of smoke but the other stairwell at the other end of the hotel is fine. The smoke in the one stairwell is due to employees smoking outside and propping the door open. I imagine by the smell, this happens routinely.||I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay when you are in the Mt. Pocono area. Again, understand what you are getting (and not getting) and do not have unreasonable or unrealistic expectations for the property. They certainly can (and should) keep updating and improving the guest experience. However, I enjoyed my stay, slept well, had a great breakfast each day, enjoyed the exercise room, and the friendly staff made the stay enjoyable.||For the area, the price was fair. I would encourage this Comfort Inn to keep improving the rooms as they are able to do so. The property has a lot...
