I was here a few months ago, and I don't normally write reviews, but since I'm STILL thinking about it, I might as well share the terrible experience I had at Mt. Pocono Verizon to deter future customers. The representative who assisted us, Marcus Grazette, was rude, unprofessional, and as pushy as a salesman can be.
My mother and I had gone that day to upgrade our iPhones. When we arrived, Marcus was assisting another customer. Instead of finishing helping them, he decided to help us both simultaneously. Fine. Never did I expect the process to take three hours. We had my elderly grandparents waiting in the car, so I stepped away from the transaction to check on them, leaving my mother inside the store. When I returned shortly after, I was told he had added offers/products to our original agreement. I asked him to please remove said offers/products so as to return to our initial agreement, which had been significantly more reasonable, and that's when his whole demeanor changed. He accused me of having a bad attitude and started saying things like "you were all happy back when you were picking out your new phone" and threatening to take another three hours of our time if we made any changes, knowing my grandparents were in the car. I could not believe what he was saying, and at that point, I was ready to pay whatever it took to get away from him and finish the transaction. I was even prepared to drop Verizon as our servicer altogether, but he told us that wasn't possible since we'd already signed (in hindsight, I highly doubt that). In the end, I agreed to the additional products because of his threats. I was completely disgusted. Then, after all that, he had the nerve to shake our hands as we left, as if he'd done nothing wrong. I'm sure he was happy, since he'd made his commission.
And he'd promised our future Verizon bills would be less -- I can tell you now, months later, that our Verizon bills are a lot more than anticipated. He lied.
In other circumstances, I'd have been ready to sit it out and either get the deal we originally asked for or see Marcus fired. I hope others who have similar...
Read moreThis is a âhats offâ review regarding an employee of a company which sorrowfully heard my decision that I was âunderqualifiedâ to make a purchase from it. Let me explain: I am an old guy who has very minimally joined the cell-phone generation. I use a cell phone only for emergencies. Otherwise, Iâm content to use my ancient landline and am part of the crowd that attempts to avoid change. Fact is that for more than a half-century, no thought was given to leaving home without a cell phone. Another fact is that for the past 15 years, itâs become increasingly worrisome when having to travel even short distances and NOT have this âinsuranceâ. A lack of a cell phone happened to me recently after my el-cheapo, 15-year-old cell phone was sent swimming in my washing machine. An unsuccessful dry-out attempt involved putting body parts into an airtight sandwich bag containing rice for 72 hours. Another idea was to activate a back-up cell phone that I dislike (not made by Verizon), but its SIM card for some reason needed replacement. (Still waiting for delivery of the âcompatibleâ SIM card.) Next was the thought to visit the local (Mt. Pocono) TCC (Verizon store), which is the reason for this review. My situation caused me to be âunderqualifiedâ to agree to the salespersonâs most inexpensive solution, but he (Rodney Bowen) was very understanding, compassionate and helpful regarding my plight, even locating on ebay a new, not-made-anymore cell phone EXACTLY like the one that took a bath. To assure that my charger was not defective, he used one in the store similar to mine to attempt to revive the drowning victim â but to no avail. Rodneyâs extra concern should be made known to other potential customers. He is an asset to this store who Iâll remember if/when future cell phone...
Read moreI have been getting charged for more then a year for the business internet box that I tried to return less then 30 days from getting it because I had no use for it and the store told me I couldn't. They said that I had to call Verizon so I can get a return label. I called Verizon and they stated that I had to suspend the internet number and that It will remain suspended forn90 days but I will have to continue to suspend it every 90 days. I did so for 3 suspension = 9 months then when I attempted to do it again Verizon site said that I exceeded the amount of times and couldn't do it anymore...basically I have to pay for a service that I have not used in more then a year but for a service that I have ABSOLUTELY NO USE FOR! Again I called Verizon for the 20th time and they always say the same thing "We are sorry we will send you a return label and credit you" 15 months later still no return label and my bill is sky rocket because they continue to charge me monthly faithfully more then $100 FOR A DEVICE THAT IS STILL IN IT ORIGINAL BOX NOT BEING USE FOR 15 MONTHS. They continue to send me disconnections notices knowing that they are overcharging me ..they owe me $1,500 in credits to my account and still nothing..but without hesitation they bill me religiously with an additional $100 . I'm so over this and am wondering can I take this matter to court. I will be taking my services elsewhere to another Provider that will not rob me especially during this economy...
