A really, really good "classic motel" that has been remodeled to near perfection! It looks like your standard mid-century motel from the outside (L-shaped building, 2 stories with rows of entry doors along the covered corridors, parking in front of units), but is painted nicely and attractive. The difference is once you enter your room -- WOW! Maybe the nicest motel-turned-hotel I've ever stayed at. My King Room was very spacious, with an entry with mini-fridge, coffee maker, comfortable bathroom with walk-in shower and very cool retro-looking Frigidaire mini-fridge. Then a comfortable sitting area (almost like a small living room), with a comfortable sofa (with bed I think?). I usually don't like to sit on hotel sofas because who knows how old it is or what's gone on there, but this one was clean and comfortable. The room was much more spacious than most converted motel rooms. I also did not hear noise from neighbors which is often an issue with these older properties with thin walls.||The BED was REALLY comfy! As were the pillows. Nice decor, "of the area" in neutral tones and not overdone.||There is a big grass lawn area in front, dog-friendly and with cornhole and a few Adirondack chairs to chill out in. To the right side of the property is also a fire pit with more chairs (didn't see anybody using them, it was early June after all).||Being a family-run place, service was top-notch. Not right in the middle of town but very walkable - that made things a bit quieter, and a very short 5-10 minute walk to everything.||It's a bit pricier than other renovated motels-turned-hotel, but I feel worth it for the comfort, location, and friendly service.||I was traveling solo on my way to meet a friend in Bend OR, but next time I shall return with my wife to show her the wonderful town of Mount Shasta - oh, those views of the mountains everywhere you turn!||The town punches above its weight with good restaurant options, bars, and of course more crystal shops than you can imagine. ;-)||Thank you for a great experience, Inn at...
Read moreNot the greatest experience here by a long shot. The hotel reached out to ask what time I'd be checking in and I indicated that it would be late (like 11pm-midnight), but that I'd keep them posted. They said they close the lobby at 10:30pm, but I could ring the bell or call and the "night auditor" would answer. I updated them before 10:30 pm that I was running later and I'd arrive between 12-1. Again, they told me to just ring the bell and/or call and the night auditor would take care of me. We're off to a great start, thought I! Well, I arrived at 12:30 am after a very long day and drive and rang the bell. And nothing. I rang, rang, rang the bell which I heard and still nothing. I called 3x nothing. I texted the prior number. I rang the bell again (which I heard ringing) 50x in a row. 20 mins after arriving (and it was freezing and very late), I was about to leave to find somewhere to sleep, when the "night auditor" walked into the lobby all surprised I was outside, but not apologetic, seeming pretty out of it. She gave me two keys, only one worked, to a non-smoking room on the 2nd floor which reeked of smoke. The rooms, by the way, were not the hip motor lodge rooms I expected from the web, but very, very average, motel rooms overall. Extremely. They emphasize how dog-friendly they are, but I saw nothing that spoke to this in the experience. The next morning, a gentleman named Shawn/Sean/Shaun kindly noticed from below that I was having trouble with my keys (neither now worked) and he offered to help me. He also noted that he'd heard my message from the night before and invoice-wise he did the right things. That went a long, long way in my book. However, after that, he said the bell wasn't working and that's why no one answered and I quickly proved him wrong. Anyway, I tipped him well for doing the right thing money-wise. Long and short of it is, unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel. Shawn/Sean/Shaun seems great and really wants to do the right...
Read moreThe Inn at Mount Shasta is truly, absolutely fantastic, We found it to be extremely well appointed, very clean, and tremendously comfortable. We got a very large family suite for our family and our 2 dogs, all for an amazing price, and could not have been more satisfied. |First of all, the Inn is located extremely conveniently right off I5 about halfway between Portland and the Bay area in the charming little town of Mount Shasta at the base of the great mountain itself. Needless to say the, views are stunning. There are several excellent restaurants and shops in the town with plenty of outdoor activities as well. The Inn at Mount Shasta itself is immaculate with newly renovated rooms, with beautiful new modern furniture and extremely comfortable beds. There are several options for rooms including suites for families. We got a 2 bedroom suite which had a king bed in one room and two queens in another and there was also a fairly large refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker as well as a very comfortable work station. The internet worked perfectly which was great given we had some work/studying to do while we were there. We had our 2 dogs with us and the pet fee was very inexpensive. The Inn was pretty full the night we were there but we never had any issues with noise. The Inn is a renovated older property (which definitely lends to its charm) so is very solidly built which makes the property very noise proof. There is also a wonderful fire pit we enjoyed the night we got there. The lobby is also charming and cozy with a beautiful modern gas fireplace and tea service. We very highly recommend staying at this Inn without hesitation and we will definitely be...
