I’m truly puzzled by all the high ratings here. Now I’m thinking that our experience in that morning (October 20, 2024) - either was an isolated incident or these reviews are not entirely unbiased. I try to be as objective as I can with my review. The restaurant offers few menus that my husband and I have been enjoying over the last several years. The menu choices I wouldn’t call it great and but we never had complaints, since we always would find something we liked. But sadly, in our last visit, the service was incredibly rude, not only to us but the other customers. The couple, who were also waiting to be seated for a while, they were there before us, so we don’t know how long that had been waiting, but the lady gently noted to her about her wait time, we had already been waiting there 35-37 minutes for the table without, and that without any acknowledgement by the service. But the young waitress literally started yelling at that middle aged woman, who merely wanted clarification about her wait time. The waitress went on and on about her busy schedule and “seven other more important things to do” than seating her to the one of the empty tables that were open the entire time we were waiting. It gave us an impression that wasn’t well organized and run efficiently. After 10-12 minutes watching at the waiting area how other customers treated horribly, we were finally approached and asked by the same waitress if we have a reservation. Imagine being asked that question after 43-45 minutes of waiting… no writing down names, no waiting list. Just standing at the door for 40 something minutes. Nevertheless, we were happy being seated at last. But the moment we tried to tell her after our menu was handed that we are ready to order, that for some reason triggered her rage and anger again. This time she yelled at us that we are going to give her time and wait because she has other things to take care of. So when she came back with water we hoped that she was ready to take an order but in her shouting voice she told us that we are making her repeat herself again that she needs to have time and that she has other people to attend to. So we were confused and not sure how to respond to such situation, my husband and I are in our late fifties and we’ve never experienced such behavior from anyone before. Later on she came back to just yell at us one more time for trying to ask for a drink from the beverage guy instead of asking her. We felt like we were dealing with someone unstable and deranged person. Im sure there are other people and witnesses can back up this, including the other coworker guy. Because the room felt uncomfortable and hostile at that moment, when she was taking out her frustration of being overworked just at 10am in the morning. I hope the management and the owners make the right decision when it comes to hiring and employing the more competent and qualified people for the sake of their business and to protect its own customers from such poor treatment in future. As for us, we are not coming back as long as that young woman with rude attitude...
Read moreShame, on Lily's Owner!
My friend & I, had planned for a week to dine at Lily's this week, & when we arrived on July 14, the owner said, "Sorry we are closed to the public tonite." I replied, disappointed, that I had called earlier that day, to confirm that they would be Open the evening we arrived. Lily's voicemail message said, they would 'Open at 4pm for dinner,' so we arrived at 5pm, only to be told, "Sorry, we are not open to the public this evening." I asked the owner, who had been somewhat blase about our disappointment, why did you not leave word on your voicemail, for all those that had planned to dine that eve, & he replied, & rudely, 'We don't have time to leave a message on our phone.' I then added, that at least they could have put a sign on the front door, notifying all that would be arriving to dine that eve, apologizing for the inconvenience. Well, the owner of Lily's was having none of my suggestions, & became very rude, & said, "We are not here for your needs, we are here for our own needs!" Oh my! Is this really the owner of Lily's, always friendly & courteous to their customers, & for many years? I can only think that there must be New ownership?
The owner of Lily's was abrupt, rude, & discourteous, from the beginning. And, what a great disappointment, being a local, & enjoying meals here for many years. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Lily's, & given the owner's lack of concern for their customer, 'he' could care less! After all, the owner stated & rudely, 'we aren't here for your needs, we're here for our own!' This was of course, all I needed to hear, to make my determination of this person's attitude toward their Unvalued customer.
Shame on...
Read moreMy wife and I and our friends just got done eating. Service was absolutely terrible! My wife ordered coffee, my buddy and I were drinking mixed drinks and my wife was never asked if she wanted a refill on her coffee we were never asked if we wanted more drinks. The server was terrible!! When we sat down, my wife spilled one of the water glasses and the server never filled it back up. We saw her one time in an hour and it took a little under an hour to get our meals and the restaurant was empty. We ordered filet mignon with shrimp, four meals and three of them were cold. The shrimp literally had no taste. Our total bill came to just under $200! When you’re spending that kind of money you expect to get some level of service. Our server was CLUELESS as she offered us dessert, with our credit card sitting on the table. We have eaten in this restaurant several times for breakfast and lunch and this was the first time we’ve had this type of experience. During our experience eating breakfast and lunch, the restaurant was packed and we receive better service! We will never, never, eat in that restaurant for dinner again! There’s a good chance we may...
