We stayed here for our last two nights during our vacation, and it could have been better.
This was the only place I actually felt mildly unsafe, as our door looked as though it had been kicked in, and the chain lock was broken off. Doors are so old they have rust and the inn logo was faded on most rooms.
Free WiFi is available and you can access it with a password. This is found on a sheet of paper inside of your room. Both of ours were next to the TV! Secure WiFi is great, though play it smart and use a VPN.
While our room itself was clean, the whole place just felt gross and rundown. The stairs to the second floor looked like they could fall apart and they were extremely rusty.
Towels, shampoo and conditioner are supplied, and there is also a makeup removing cloth as well as a neat little bonus. There is also a mini-fridge, microwave and TV in the room.
Our bath/shower combo was very gross to use. Water did not drain fully, so a puddle of water permanently sits on the bottom of the tub. While I'm sure it was fine, and I did shower while there, it felt as though I could be standing in water that was used from the person who stayed in the room previously. Thankfully we had the second room, because nobody wanted to shower in ours.
In order to shower you need to pull the lever up and hold it there for a few seconds before any water will start coming out. This probably took 10 actual seconds. You must manually open the drain as well, which I was not aware of until my feet were suddenly drowning in water.
Shower pressure was bad by default.. but I learned after I had showered that our shower head was actually totally customizable. By pressing a button on the side, you could switch between many settings to get the water you really want. I wish I had noticed this sooner!
Top toilet seat is seemingly made from cheap plastic. Sat on it to get dressed and it was super loud. I'm also mildly surprised it didn't snap from my weight, which is only 105 pounds. It did not seem steady at all.
Our TV remotes in both rooms were broken. Each time a button was pressed, it would click it an extra time. This made finding channels quite difficult.
Outlets are hit or miss. We had two rooms for the family, one had plenty of outlets (6!) and the other had only 2 sockets. Locations are not all easy to access.
Staff were friendly and understanding. They allowed us to make room changes after our reservation, and even kept us updated on the status of our room, as at the beginning we were to move to another room midway through, as our room we had been staying in was previously booked.
Beds felt hard and uncomfy, but I do think there are folks who enjoy that. I do not, I woke with a sore back.
Location isn't great, but it did the job. The outside is mostly sand, looks unfinished and messy. There is a pool but it was not open during our stay. We met a little cat around the pool area at night before a storm hit. It didn't seem to need help, but it's definitely vocal!
Overall, I would stay here again. It wasn't a great experience, but we also didn't have any safety issues while at the motel, and no bugs were found. Really, that's what...
Read moreRather than writing a poor review, I opted to send them an email about my experience and the disappointing treatment I received from the very sweet, but very uneducated front desk associate. My email was not important enough to be addressed and honestly, that is pretty pitiful in my opinion, so I will share my experience here.
I have a Medical Alert Service dog. I was asked for her registration number. Businesses are not allowed to do that, but I complied because the associate was very nice. However, when I went back to the office after having the picture hanging over the bed fall on my head from all the thumping and racket going on above me and asked to be moved to a room on the top floor and away from that room, she said I couldn't be moved because those weren't pet friendly rooms.. even though my dog is not recognized as a pet and isn't required to follow the pet guidelines. I didn't argue though. She instead called the room above me and asked them to be quiet because "the woman underneath you is complaining about noise." Not only was that awkward, but not a very safe thing to do. I went back to my room and didn't sleep half the night.
It's really just pathetic to me that I took the time to send an email in the effort to be discrete and wasn't valued enough as a customer to warrant any response. All in all, this business needs...
