PART TWO OF paramedic story. So my friend or my friends brother, the EMT convince the police to let him go back to his room. He said he’d known the man. He had also been a veteran that was information he had gathered from talking to the guy person. Our friend was allowed to escort this guy back up to his room, more or less, I think the cops may have thought he was the caretaker nonetheless it was the best thing for the moment now as far as the breaking cars or anything like that, they had to look around and they would come get us if any issues arise, that would have to be answered Being part of the emergency system very well understood and he was not about to obstruct any investigation now he gets the guy upstairs put on his bed and get some water, etc. about 3040 minutes later he walks back out to his car he lost his keys his truck is parked Next to the truck just had their manic break down course he looked all around those trucks in the windows of his new friends, not violating by any means, but just making sure when he was helping look for something that the guy had lost that he didn’t drop it or something I don’t After about 15 minutes of scouring the parking lot and found his keys. His friend had accidentally swiped him and put him in his pocket when he was just grabbing whatever he thinking it was no harm no foul he laughed it off took the keys and left about right before 1 PM probably about noon when it started , about eight or nine at night he happens to be driving right by there and stop and gets the man a bottle of water. I think a milkshake he said some ice cream that might be easy to eat. I think some chicken soup something from Chick-fil-A maybe just walked in the door , and knocks on the door and walks in and hands the food and says I hope you are all right. Please be careful. This was in tears because in fact, he had been a veteran just needed his medication. He has disability in his spine that affects his brain of some sort I can’t pretend that I know what it’s called or how do articulate even what they said, but the approach of gaining trust and understanding the individual and getting them upstairs and away from all the triggers and trauma was exactly what needed to happen. He said that was like night and day, he asked if he had gotten anything, and the man said no the cops weren’t looking for me, actually our friend and laughed as he was walking out the manager keep in mind has been there this whole time and watched all this go down compassion willingness to help the above and beyond by not only our friend, but other individuals she should’ve been able to paint somewhat at least kind of accurate picture. No, she tells my friend that they were complaints. He was breaking into cars, looking in windows being suspicious, and he was in no longer wanted or allowed on property of course being common collected as possible kind of chuckled and said those individuals that are accusing me staying here you bring them out here so I can talk to them. I just like to clarify what was going on. She refused, looked at him and said “I’m just saying if you were doing that don’t come back” Now something I think has not been mentioned is our friend is probably the most tattooed individual in the precincts on the force and any EMS in Utah And there’s nothing wrong with that, but he was literally looked at and treated as he was walking out of prison. He stated do you have cameras you can very clearly see I’m looking only around and into two cars, mine and the person who I helped I also talk to the officers and she says” I have to look out for Guess if they are concerned with your behavior and it looks sketchy, that’s what it is” it was now probably 10 PM. He had literally worked almost half a shift that he normally does six days a week for free and he was being accused of breaking into cars, and he was the one reported breaking into cars when he was the only one helping this poor soul He doesn’t get phased and it doesn’t affect him. He’s used to this And hardly look...
Read moreMy wife had decided to plan a single night stay for her birthday as a getaway from the kids. We anticipated staying in a simple suite at this hotel. All we really wanted was a king sized bed (being that I am 6'7") and a jacuzzi tub as something fun for her to be able to wind down over the weekend. When checking in to our room we noticed that there was not a jacuzzi tub. When asking about why we did not get one, we were told that they only have two rooms that have one, and they get booked rather quickly. We had booked our room nearly 3 weeks in advance, and the pictures on the reservation showed the tub. After some discussion we decided to go to a standard king room and pay about $30 less for the night. There was no difference in amenities really. The bathroom was slightly different being partially enclosed and part in the room as opposed to entirely behind the lockable door. On the plus side, our new room came with a shower/tub combo fit for a toddler, not that we would have wanted to use it after seeing the rust stains send missing caulk all over. This was the first disappointment. The second disappointment came when we decided to use the hot tub, since we did not have an option for the jacuzzi tub in our room. We changed and went to the pool area. The first thing we noticed was how cold it was. It was as if the glass exterior was letting in almost all the cold of the January weather. As my wife had immediately shivered the teenager in the rather small pool let us know that the pool was not much warmer. We were not too worried about that since we really came for the hot tub. After having to ask the front desk for towels, as none were stocked, we tried the hot tub. It was marginally warmer than one would expect a heated, indoor pool. Again, when we made a comment, another person sitting beside the pool stated that we should complain because they had brought it up earlier to the staff and were given an excuse that they couldn't heat it at that time because there were too many people in the hot tub, and they would need to have everyone get out, fill the tub higher, and then they could turn on the heater, but that would take several minutes. When we had told the front desk of the issue, we were given the same answer, despite being the only ones trying to use the tub. They ended up waiting until the pool area was closed to do what was needed. We only saw that the next day when we went down for breakfast. We were told by another guest before leaving that the temperatures had not gotten better. The third disappointment was when we went back to our room to try to watch a movie on our streaming device plugged into their TV. The internet was spotty at best and the volume that came from the TV was tinny and canned sounding even at a very low volume. The last disappointment came at breakfast. While I did not expect restaurant quality food, what was there was an eclectic mess of chewy, but fresh waffles, dollar store bakery items, eggs tasting like they came from a powder, and sausage that might have had equal parts meat and salt. It was also not cleaned as we were there. No one came at any point to clean up or re-stock missing items. Overall, we were pretty dissatisfied with the stay. There was little effort to be made to make anything better when we did make comments to staff. Only...
Read moreThe reason I am giving it 3 Starfor the room as I’m impressed with the room it’s a great place for the sleep. The couch is OK the bed is awesome. I like that how it has a fridge two drawers and a microwave. The only reason I’m giving it a three star is whoever designed the bathroom door swings right into the sink counter, and that is not very fun that is very annoying but also the shower curtain is too small any of the water that is coming. Falling off whenever you’re in the shower it goes into the floor and I’ve had to use two towels to wipe up the wet water coming off of it and this is supposed to be a handicap shower. I would feel really bad if someone who was handicapped stepped out of the shower, and sliped on the water, because the shower curtain is too short. The other issue I have is the hot tub. It was nice to go in and relieve some back pain but that is the worst hot tub I have ever seen. It is very little water in it and the Jets shoot up about 2 1/2 feet and they go out of the hot tub around it and they make big puddles of water and that is very
unsafe but then also the hot tub it is peeling and it is cracking and it is not very safe. The Jets don’t turn some of the Jets are broken to and another thing that I did not like the bed comforter on mine had a tear in it, and I had asked the Housekeeping about three times this week if I can get a new one and they never even came to me. After reading some of the reviews, I am ashamed that I even stayed here. The other thing that I did not like was when I book this through Orbitz I could not cancel the reservation which kind of ticked me off but after reading some of the reviews I feel bad for some of the people of stayed here after thinking hard the business of this place hotel only cares about money they don’t care about customer service so I will probably never stay through this place again. The reason I’m giving service of three starwas because the lady at the front desk was probably the nicest person here the general manager I don’t know his name sorry to say this, but he can hardly speak any English, and when I checked in, he couldn’t find my name. I had to get my Orbitz information and then I gave it to him and then he found my name. Plus on another sidenote the the hallways do smell you can be technology it’s called a different hotel with better stuff better rooms...
