I learned a valuable lesson, READ THE REVIEWS instead of just counting on the ratings. This place was not 4.5. The greeter at the reception desk pointed me to my table #20 instead of escorting & seating me there. Our server was very kind but not efficient. Although I enjoyed the ambiance, we felt neglected when our sever said he would bring our waters & attended to to other tables twice each and never brought out our waters or appetizers. We decided to walk out after waiting too long for just a water. The server chased after us because instead of bring out our water & appetizers BEFORE the entrees, he had EVERYTHING come out all at once. The server never communicated that, nonetheless that is not good service. Since the food was already cooked he had to salvage it so he ran after us before we could get in our cars & drive away. He convinced us to go back in because he said when he brought the food out we were gone. So he said the food was on the table which was a lie. He did bring it out a few min later but it was not on the table as he had stated. The fish had NO FLAVOR. đ€ą I had to ask for lemon & salt. The rice was decent in flavor but was over cooked & dominated the plate. Along with what seemed like 3 cups of rice they put a very small greasy piece of pork belly. Pale, greasy and AGAIN NO FLAVOR what so ever. đ€ą I used the lemon & salt for both the pork belly & fish my friend had. THE Yucca appetizer was good h the guacamole it was served with delish. A shake we had was delish aswell, but everything else was extremely over priced & lacked flavor. The server asked us how we enjoyed our meal, we were diplomatic in our honesty. Bless Carlos' heart, he tried to redeem himself by offering us free coffee at 7pm. After we kindly declined he continued to insist that we allow him to make it up to us instead of comp'ing an appetizer. After making it clear that if I we drank coffee so late we wouldnt be able to sleep he asked us to please return..... Needless to say not only will we never go back I will be sure none of my friends waste time or money. We were so surprised at how bad it was that we read the review at the table & realized that SEVERAL reviews echoed our experience, almost to a T. On a good note the decor was nice & if they can work on service & tweak how they cook somethings they would increase the quality exponentially....
Read moreRight off the bat, atmosphere here is very club like so if youâre trying to have a nice dinner maybe this isnât the place for you.
Starting off with the service, I felt as though it was very disorganized. It took longer than usual to get our drinks in, where usually itâs within moments of being seated theyâre at least taken down. At least 15 minutes (this is a conservative estimate btw) had passed after ordering our drinks before they STARTED coming out. We were 1 of at most 6 parties at the moment, I am a very understanding person as I work in customer service myself; however that was already the first âred flag.â
Continuing with my opinion on the disorganized service, our food was next. Besides some of our friends who came after, our food mustâve take at least 35-40 minutes to come out. The appetizers came out as they should so no criticism on that end⊠When the main dishes started to come out, there was, in my opinion, too many gaps in time from when the next came to the table. Usually restaurants bring everyoneâs meals out at the same time if not one right after the other. Needless to say (my food at least) which was plated on a skillet was lukewarm at best.
If Iâm not mistaken our waiter may have came once to check up on us, for all other occurrences we had to flag down a different person. Now if youâre going to automatically apply a 15% charge to a table seating 6 or more, thatâs common⊠agreed. However, the absolute least you can do is make sure that the service is above average.
In conclusion, mind you this is before getting the check which took a handsome amount of time as well, it seems as though one of the waiters/workers there (maybe the owner) was more interested in our table writing a review for this place while he hovered over them; than to ask first how everything turned out. I ordered the âbandeja paisaâ and it just wasnât for me, I tried to get through some of it but respectfully it was not good and I can live with that no problem⊠my review is more on the basis of the poor customer service or a lack thereof. I will note, they didnât have to split 2 of our friends check but they did; a âniceâ gesture on their part despite the overarching experience. On a more positive note, Karaoke was very fun. You can never go...
Read moreFirst thing that threw me off was a sign that said no one under 21 will be served, so I asked the host if that was right. She said it's meant for alcohol, why not specify that on the sign? We sat on table 27 and carlos was our waiter. He came and greeted us with "Do you speak Spanish"? From there everything was a disaster, he ignored our table, after waiting almost 20 minutes for him to come, I had to get up and get him, even though he waited on the table next to ours but kept on having his back face us and ignored us, I wanted morcilla and he said they were out, I ended up ordering 4 empanadas, my son arepas and my teen a pork belly dish. The questionable beef in the empanadas was not there, I think they're filled with potatoes, the mayo sauce they brought was gross, it tasted sweet, the spicy sauce was delish. The pork belly had no flavor and sooo greasy, we asked for salt and they brought us a sea salt grinder that spewed chunks of salt, we asked for lime to cut the greasy on the dish. Carlos ruined our father day's dinner, and my family felt discriminated against in our own country, if you don't speak Spanish don't go here as they will ignore you. I tipped him because my son felt bad and said he's probably a father and is working instead of spending time with the kids on father's day. We left and went to Texas Roadhouse down the street, you get treated well no matter what and you get what you pay for, this isn't authentic, I've never seen a Colombian place serve everything with potatoes. The music was so loud you can't talk. I'm glad I didn't order food as they don't...
