Staying at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Myrtle Beach. At 4709 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC. I have experienced some worse situations here at La Quinta Inn. A hotel rated for 3 star, but I think it should be only 2 star or less. Travelers, you should judge it yourself if you want to exerience this hotel. First of all, the pictures from the hotel what you see from the advertise wesite, "it is what it is". But these images were taken from years ago, probaly from when the building was new. Do not be fooled by the images by the looks.
Currently, my wife and I decided to stay at this place for a short vacation. A nice greeting from the check in staff made us feel welcome for the starter. They placed our room to the 3rd floor, away from the football team, thanks god. Then when we first stepped into the room, the old smell hit us straight up to the nostro. Probably from the damp, mold, smell from the moist trapped in the room, in the wall, carpet, and the frist musty piss smell from the bathroom has not clean nor moped. There are no air vent in the room nor fan in the bathroom). Later I decided to clean the bathroom floor, but still didn't help. The building is just in older shapes, there are many patched up, repaired, repainted, and the rooms still looking old as they are. The worst part is the carpet stinkness, it smelled bad like no one done any cleaning or maybe it only get clean once every bluemoon. I recommend travelers should wear slipers or sandals if you want your feet clean. I have taken some allergy medicine after spend 4hrs in the room. The room seem to be very dusty in all corners, back of the bed, back of the bed. The first night was nice and quite. We had a long day drive and slept through wonderfully at night. The 2rd night, from 10pm to 2am, our next room neighbor had an infant traveled along. The baby was crying restless. Perhaps the smell from these hotel rooms. I felt sorry for the parent and the infant, and all the people around their on that floor, after dealing with the baby was crying for hours. The sounds of discomfort, agonizing pain from the infant, I felt un-rest and worried, what was happening to that baby. In the morning, the room temperature was changed drastically. The window AC unit hs stoped working. Turn out that some power surge, or something tripped the circuit and cause the AC shut off and could not turn back on. We reported the issue and in the morning the maintanence guy got it fixed quick. The 3rd night, later that night, there were a big group of college kids I assumed, they had some kind of event, and booked the hotel and occupied almost entire 3rd floor. They were too loud at night, running, screaming, yelling, crying, in and out of the room like little kids playing. Party in the hallway, they were talking to each others loudly and chased one anothers with their heavy foot steps, thump thump..., driven me angry and wanted to yell at them. The constant doors slammed, every few seconds with the shouting, that driven some other travelers angry, and some of them also shouted back "It's 2AM in the morning, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!". I have over heard those kids talking, that there was a young girl got drunk and passed out and slept in the hallway. They dragged down the hallway to find her room, but did not know where was her room. My wife have called the front desk twice to complain all the disturbance activivities on the 3rd floor, but nothing happen. The noises, the door slams, the shouting were did not stop until close to 4am. I felt very dissapointed that these things had happened to us, and others travelers stayed on the same floor that night. I hope the managemnet of this La Quinta hotel should see to these problems and how to resolve these situations, or the hotel resputation will never get better. After all, I would give this hotel rate for a solid 2 star. If any one have some bad experiences with this La Quinta Inn, as I have please do comment and...

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It’s not far from public beach access and plenty of shops and restaurants. The pool was also decent but there were cigarette butts around it. We booked a week long stay for a mother/daughter vacation over the week of the 4th. The staff themselves seemed overwhelmed but friendly and did the best they could. Joe was amazing throughout the week and did his best to help us when he could. When we arrived our beds had stains but the room didn’t seem filthy. At the end of our stay our room hasn’t had housekeeping service since the day we practically had to beg for it, the hallways and elevators are filthy and need to be swept, the breakfast is free but it’s a huge disappointment as the area is too small and the selection is cereal, toast, bagels, and waffles. The only way to get toiletries is to catch housekeeping in the hall or make the trek to the front desk. We’ve had to empty our own trash, make our beds, seek out fresh towels, and wipe out the tub and sink so we can use the bathroom. I wouldn’t walk on the carpets barefoot and I’d highly recommend wearing flip flops in the shower. If I wanted to perform household duties I would have stayed home this week. After being here for 3 days our room wasn’t cleaned once, our bathroom was covered in sand and toilet needed cleaned. My mom went down to to ask about why our room hasn’t been cleaned and was told by the manager, Bonnie, that the housekeeping staff had left for the day. My mom emphasized that our room hadn’t been touched for 3 days and we at least need the bathroom cleaned. A call was made and my mom was told someone would be up “shortly”. We did get a couple nice gals to come clean the bathroom and vacuum for us and they made the beds. We were told that there is no housekeeping service during the week of the fourth. Another thing I want to add is the day manager’s attitude toward guests. The few times I passed through the lobby while she was interacting with guests made me uncomfortable as she showed little compassion or empathy for people who’s situation had changed for one reason or another but also seemed to have no patience for the shenanigans of young kids even though this is a hotel in a very family friendly area. I understand there is an expectation for parents to maintain a certain level of control of their kids but most people are fidgeting after a long plane/car ride, especially when you have a pool!! We tried looking for other hotels but, as it’s the week of the 4th and due to the length of our stay, every where else was booked nor did we want to spend our valuable vacation time looking for a new hotel. I can confidently say I will come back to vacation in Myrtle Beach as we had a great week outside of this hotel but we will be looking for other accommodations. I would give just 1 star but the second is for Joe and the other employees who were...
Read moreThe only good part about the hotel was during check in. I believe the ladies name was Tania, she was very friendly and helped us get checked in quickly. I was hopeful for the rest of the stay based on that interaction.
Shortly after we go to unpack our bags and bring them up and our keycard doesn't work on the exterior doors. None of them. Was an issue with multiple multiple guests. Sometimes the only way you could get in was from another guest opening the door. Go out late at night you might as well go through the lobby because you'll never get in.
Replaced the keycard twice and worked better after the 2nd replacement. (Toward end of trip)
The key card ironically said "enjoy your stay" well I couldn't even get in lol
Regardless I didn't schedule a beach vacation because of the hotel so I tried to stay positive. We were told room service on Wednesday and none. That night I was getting in the shower, took of my silver chain bracelet and handed it to my girlfriend and she set it on the bathroom sink, we fell asleep, woke up super early the next morning and went to the beach, came back to a clean room but the bracelet on the sink was MISSING. I tore through our bags. Bed sheets, trashcans, anywhere. Couldn't find it. Asked my girlfriend to double check and asked her again the last time she saw it and she said I handed it to her and she put it on the sink
After looking for a solid 30-40 minutes I went to the lobby to speak to someone. I was calm and not rude, I told them I wasn't accusing anyone of anything and their response was "well the lady that cleaned your room had been here for 20 years"
Again I said I wasn't accusing anyone, maybe it got caught in the towels and taken, they told me they'd "send out a text"
I go to check out on Friday, she closes out the transaction before I could speak, I told her I wanted to talk to someone before she finalized it. Whatever they called management there came out in a purple shirt 5 sizes too small telling me that he wouldn't do anything for me, I explained how the last place it was seen was in the hotel and how I still wasn't accusing anyone of stealing it, but after room service it was gone. I told him there was cat vomit in the corner of my hotel I noticed when I was looking for the bracelet, and that the keycards didn't work for half our trip, all I was asking was for 1 night off of our stay and I wouldn't be sitting here writing this review.
I don't lose valuables. I was very conscious about only taking it off in the hotel, been sober 19 months and was sober the entire vacation. I don't just misplace something I'm very fond of. I explained multiple times I wasn't accusing anyone and with everything said and done just take off 1 night.
Nope.
If you go here, first off I'm sorry,
Second. Don't get room service.
Breakfast was fine who doesn't like bagels and water with a...
