My experience was a DISASTER!!!!Arrived at Southwind not attendant available to help so we had to go next door to Beach Colony. The staff there booked us in. The keys didn’t work. It’s Cold outside with small children waiting because we had all ready unpacked. Had to drive back over to get someone to unlock the door. Beach colony was not answering phone. Finally got into this 5 bedroom nasty dirty outdated room. Dirty was a understatement. Went back to beach colony and staff told me it’s nothing she can do until morn because no manger was on staff and I couldn’t get a refund. Mind you it’s 10pm. She let me see a 4 bedroom at beach colony the supposed to be ocean front but all you see is trees and the room had 2 TVs and was not to my standards. We back and forth about my refund and finally tried to get settled after midnight. Could not sleep the 5 bedroom was nasty. Stove, refrigerator, bedroom linens, sofa, sofa bed. Omg. Then morning spoke to a supervisor That was full of attitude after waiting to speak with us after seeing me for 30 minutes. She told me we can check out but it’s she only can give me $50 off my stay. I said no I want a refund because if management was here last night I could have just left. She was rude and nasty. I then ask for her supervisor which was an assistant general manager who basically said whatever the supervisor said that’s what it is. She never wanted to come out and speak with me directly or on the phone. She wanted me to leave my number for her to call me. I look to see if they had Sister properties because if I checked out The was gone refund me one day but in 3-5 business days. So I called and went to Landmark Resort myself and viewed the room and resort. Really nice customer service and Resort over there. I went back to Beach Colony to get a transfer but told them my room over at there Sister property would not be ready until 4pm. She said I had to be out the unit by 11. At this time it 10am. After being back and forth since 6:50am. Ok cool. I left and took the kids out because it was my sons birthday. And we checked into Landmark at 4pm. I look on line and found the general manager as Darby Davis left a message for him to call me no answer back after it’s been 24 hours. I’m convinced that’s how they do business..Beach Colony staff is Full of attitude and rude and Southwind 5 bedroom I was in was not clean and very outdated. I WILL NEVER STAY IN EITHER...
Read moreOur family stayed here in July during peak season and payed dearly for the room to begin with from our hard earned money that we work for. The first room we were put it was disgusting. The carpet, walls, and furniture were black from lack of cleaning or any care for which seems to be the theme of this place...lack of care. After being placed in a penthouse room (which was no better) "management" posted a sign on the door for us to please refrain from tracking sand in the room. We are at the beach! What do they expect?! They need to invest in their property and develop the staff instead of being nasty and rude to adults who know how to act and take care of a room. If you ask me I think there are lazy, pathetic excuses for workers here who dont want to do there job. Maybe they forgot what a broom and dust pan are...also a poor excuse for a restaurant at the Beach Colony building. Service there is sorry and non existant and then you can expect they may run out of biscuits, bacon, potatos, and orange juice, and yes, all at one time. So what is the point of the buffet breakfast? "Management" needs to evaluate what they are doing and put there focus where it needs to be...on the people who pay outragous prices to stay at these "resorts" and get their facilities in order to make our stay enjoyable. No one cares about how they do their jobs anymore and no one is held responsible. They also do not care how they treat their tenants with the utmost disrespect. Good luck if you ever have to talk with "management" here as they are pathetic. Its time for that to change. I will never grace this property again with my presence and i do not advise anyone...
Read moreProperty was really nice and clean and very spacious for a big group. HOWEVER the second we got there an employee threaten to arrest us. My family and I went straight to the balcony to see our view and the employee who was tending to the pool “supposedly” heard a noise and said “did y’all just drop something off the balcony, I can call the cops and have you arrested right now” before we even had the chance to tell him we in fact did NOT drop anything. Keep in mind we didn’t even take our luggage out the car yet and we had my 3 year old son with us. When I tried to tell someone higher up every time we went to the office a sign was up that said “sorry no one is here right now please come back later”. With the slight chance someone who is actually in charge over there sees this. The employee was a middle age. white male with longish brown hair and balding on top. I didn’t feel safe there after this as he ALWAYS had his eyes on us basically stalking us the next day as well while we were on our balcony and even standing right behind us while we were on the hot tub…. Someone who speaks to people like that don’t need to work in places like that. We didn’t pay the amount we paid to be treated like criminals for not doing anything at all. I hope it wasn’t a racism thing but I thought I’d mention that our whole family is Hispanic and unfortunately we didn’t see him treating anyone...
