My review has nothing to do with myrtle beach. This is a message to raise awareness of my horrible experience traveling on hwy number 9. I left my hotel around 4:15 am on a Sunday morning because I had to get home early to reach a deadline. I was traveling alone. Worst mistake I have ever made. I was on hwy number 9 leaving north myrtle beach driving towards Longs SC. The road was pretty dead. No traffic at all. I was probably about a mile from the food lion in longs SC. I noticed a car in my rear who was coming around me. I was driving about 70 mph with my high beans. Once the car passed me the car moved in front of me and slowed down. My turned off my high beams out of courtesy. As I noticed my speed is declining I decide to pass the car in the left lane. As I start to pass the car the car starts to speed up and is matching my speed. Within seconds the car jumps in front of me while I'm in the left lane and hits his brakes so hard I had to lock up on my breaks. As my car moved to the right lane and started losing control the car in front speed off. My car was spinning out of control. I ended up on the side of the road facing on coming traffic. Which there was no traffic. I was freaking out. Myself and my car was ok. I knew I had to get off the side of the road but was scared to continue driving in the same direction of the car that just fled the scene. I continued to drive on the side until I reached a subdivision. I pulled in and called my husband crying. We had not long spoke so he knew I was on my way. I couldn't hardly speak. As I sat there a car was coming up from behind me and it passed me and it looked similar to the car that just fled. The car continued on around me passing me. My husband said you got to get out of there and get back on the road. I was scared to drive thinking this idiot was somewhere down the road looking for me or his next victim. My husband talked to me all the way home. This has caused me alot of emotional pain. People are so mean and full of hate. No respect for life. I have no idea who was in that car and they didn't know me. I was a random target on the highway. I ask why? Was it insurance fraud, did they have a death wish and want to harm someone else. I will never know. I keep replaying it over and over in my mind. It's clear from the beginning that this person played me the moment he passed me initially. I wish I had a dash cam or thought to record with my phone to get some information but it all happened to quick and was over before I realized something was wrong. I'm so happy to be ok. I could be dead and my family would have wondered what went wrong. I have been punishing myself. I should have never been on the road alone at that hour. I had been with friends in myrtle beach for the weekend. I drive this route often and have for years and it's not far from home. So I felt safe. I have learned a big lesson. Make better decisions. This can happen anywhere anytime. But I just wonder and worry if this is a problem on this hwy at this hour. Whoever it was its sad but I'm sure he has another victim soon. So if you are traveling in this area please beware. I feel like awareness is the key here. Never travel alone especially after dark. We live in a dark world. I pray and thankful that I'm ok. Soon.....all this darkness will come to light and those who set on causing harm will pay for all their mistakes. This is something I have never done before. After dark I'm always home. Scared to even do a grocery run after dark. So this was out of my norm. Goes to show being safe pays. I worry about his next victim though. I plan to call the county police office tomorrow. I have life360 so I know exactly where I applied hard breaking. There is a home across the street and I wonder if they had cameras. At least they can be aware of the situation. I didn't see a single police officer on the road there after and I was looking because I was scared I was gonna see this stupid idiot again. Please be safe out there traveling to myrtle beach or any other place. I learned...
