So here's the 411 according to me!
The check-in office is across the street so be sure to stop there and then they will give you information on your room to go back across.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom room on the 12th floor with 2 balconies overlooking the water. The safety lock on our door was broken so we had to use extra caution during the night time in rigging a lock in case there were break ins.
Balcony: The balcony off the living room had 2 chairs and the balcony off the front bedroom has 1 chairs and a small table. It would be nice to have at least 2 chairs and 1 table on each of the balconies.
The kitchen was not fully equipped with enough silverware as there were only 3 forks for the 8 of us; pots with no lids and vice versa; no dishwasher soap or dish soap; no dishtowels or dishrags (we used the bathroom wash cloths and towels) . There is a microwave, 4 slice toaster, and coffee pot but an air fryer would have been nice. The trash can in the kitchen was the size of a bathroom one so we continuously had to take the trash out several times during the day. There is a table for 4 to sit at and eat along with a bar, but no bar stools for others to eat so the adults stood while the kids sat at the table.
Balcony Bedroom: this bedroom has access to the balcony and mastsr bathroom with a tub and shower but no hair dryer in it so my brother has to come into another bathroom to use it. There was only one extra roll of toilet tissue in each bathroom plus the half used on the roll. There was 2 sets of towels in here.
Second Master Bedroom: had same as balcony Bedroom but it did have the hair dryer. It would be nice to have hooks to dry towels. This has a King bed and a dresser with TV but no luggage rack holder so unfortunately our suitcases had to be on the floor.
Third Bathroom/Bedroom: this bedroom had a closet, dresser, and a nightstand between 2 queen beds. The beds had sheets and a duvet cover on each. The bathroom entrance was off this bedroom along with an entrance from the hallway.
Laundry Facilities: there is a stackable washer and dryer in the hallway of the room and it's super convenient since there is no housekeeping however the dryer has to be run 2x when there were bath towels in it. Remember to bring laundry detergent.
The living room was a decent size with a big TV and a queen pull out sofa bed but there wasn't any bedding or linens for said pullout. The couches had peeling Vinyl on the arms and the carpet was tearing around try edges.
The location was pretty good as there's a general grocery store about 1 block from the hotel and the Family Kingdom Amusement Park is 2 blocks away or a 10 minute walk. We walked to Moe Moons which is on the boardwalk near the Sky Wheel and it was about a 20 minute walk - with 6 kids and me and my brother. It is right on the beach so you walk out the door and you walk about 100 steps and you're on the beach ! There's also a life guard station and chair/umbrella rental right at our entrance as well. Umbrella with 2 chair rentals was $50 the first day and $30 each day after.
There are 2 hot tubs outside along with a lazy river, a sitting pool, a baby pool with slide and sprinklers however one of the sprinklers are just a trickle, and the main pool that goes as deep as 5 feet in the middle and on each side it is 3' 8". The inside pool is nice and it's a hot tub too. The pools could use cleaned a little bit better and it would be nice if there was a drink/refreshment station on our property. There are bathrooms on the second floor if you need to use the rest whole outside.
There is no fittness center - been closed for a year now - so that's deceiving because that was one of the reasons I selected the hotel. So my daughter did exercises in our rooms - but still they should take it off the site as an amenity.
As far as cleaning, it would be helpful since there is no housekeeping service if there was a dustpan or vacuum to help keep up...
Read moreTo start, we have been vacationing in the Myrtle beach area since 2012. We’ve always bounced around from North Myrtle and South Myrtle. Only once stayed in actual Myrtle Beach in 2021, when we stayed at Oceans One Resort. Yesterday we returned from our vacation in MB for this year 4/12/25 - 4/19/25. As I just mentioned, we stayed here at Oceans One Resort back in April 2021. I must say, a lot has changed in 4 years. You can definitely tell the rooms are heavily used without much upkeep going back in to them. When we stayed in 2021 I had nothing but good things to say about the place. The only thing I/we complained about then was the people in the condo next to us smoking pot 24/7 (we had younger kids with us at the time). It was so bad that all we could smell in our room and hallway to the elevators. But after it was reported to the office, security came up and could smell it, went to the room, and it stopped after that.
Our stay this time was in room 802.
Con’s: This is all stuff I reported to the office first thing Sunday (4/13/25) morning.
Our room this year had only 2 badly scratched up frying pans for cooking. No pots for boiling food like corn on the cob, potato’s, etc. They never addressed this.
The clothes dryer had the handle to open it broken off. (See pic. My wife used a butter knife to open the door all week) They never addressed this.
The microwave was broken. The maintenance guy came up and removed it Sunday afternoon. It fell onto the stove when he was taking it down, the door came open, and the glass turntable plate inside fell out onto the floor and shattered. (My wife ended up having to sweep up all the glass) When he left he said he’d be there the next day with a new one to install. He never showed up. Considering we left yesterday morning and I’m sure someone else checked in by the afternoon, I’m sure there is still no microwave. (See pic)
Again this time, the constant smell of pot smoke from our balcony that would infiltrate our whole condo. People were clearly smoking it on their balconies and rooms. It could be smelled in the hallways as we walked to the elevators. (The rooms are supposed to be non-smoking). Reported it, but security did nothing.
This is stuff I didn't report, but is just general maintenance issues or complaints.
Missing outlet cover in the main living area, (see pic). I would think this would be big on their priority list. If a small child were to stick anything in on the side of the plug, they could get electrocuted. Paint peeling off the ceiling in one of the showers, (see pic). What looked to be black mold around the A/C / Heating vents in the main living area and ceilings in the bathrooms/showers. I did not get pics of this. Dirt and stains on the walls where you can clearly tell the cleaning people haven’t been washing them down. I did not get pics of this. Rooms keys had to be replaced constantly. I think we may have went 1 day in the entire week where we didn’t have to go to the office, across the road, for new keys.
This is a big one if you have teen kids that may be out at the beach and/or walking after dark. The area seems to now have a heavy crime rate. We saw cops all over in our immediate vicinity every night. Something big must have happened Wednesday night / early Thursday morning 2 places north of us. Thursday morning multiple police cars were still there. They had a crime scene with the tape and all still set up.
Pro’s:
The location. Oceans One is located in a good area to where most everything is within a 10-15 minute walk.
In all, we will not be staying here at Oceans One Resort ever again. In fact, after seeing all the police every night, we will not be staying in downtown Myrtle beach again. We will be going back to North or...
Read moreWe came to Myrtle Beach for the first time in June 2021 we stayed for 5 days. Myrtle Beach itself: wonderful 10/10 would come again.
Now on the the condo accomodations. We were up on the 7th floor. Balcony was the best part; all rooms are ocean front rooms the views are AMAZING. The rooms itself are pretty old; on closer inspection you can see it that they just paint over as best as they could. Really loved the paintings and ornaments they chose to decorate it was so cute and summer and beach vibes very great choice.
The rooms and kitchen and bathrooms were decent and looked clean; we of course did our own cleaning as soon as we entered being in the middle of the pandemic in 2021. I mean lysol sprayed and wiped down every room. We drove over 11 hrs and they had a room available and ready for us before 4 pm; they were very accomodating. But we also told them we would be making that long drive and requested an early check in and was told there was no guarantee. I think they are severely understaffed.
Pros: great views, ample parking is right across the street, if you need more towels etc just go across the street and ask they always give as long as you return your old towels. Washing machine and dryer in the room itself is in excellent working order. rooms (bedroom living room kitchenette and bathroom) were all clean. Easy and great location walking distance to nearby attractions; definitely felt safe when we were there end of June 2021 leading into 4th of July weekend. A lot of families and many of them were people who came every summer. Beach was right at our doorsteps practically; that was so wonderful. We didn’t hear any of the neighbors in nearby rooms. The only time we heard noise was when a large group of tween girls there for some pageant or cheerleading competition came off the elevator was congregated out in the hallway yelling until they were ushered into their room. Did I mention the view? Breathtaking.
Cons: Very old rooms/ bathroom tub kept flooding water out whenever we took a shower. The tub had one flimsy layer of shower liner and it didn’t matter if you placed the liner inside the tub the liner didn’t extend all the way the length of the tub! So no matter how careful you are taking a shower there was always a massive puddle after taking a shower. that was gross and annoying because it took days for it to dry even after placing towel on the floor. Beds again these are all old rooms the beds were so uncomfortable and loud and creaky. Def didn’t get a good night sleep at all during our stay but we were so happy with the beach itself it hardly mattered. The AC BARELY worked it kept us cool enough but the first day it was pretty hot. Its an automatic system so you set the temperature and it kicks on and off. We had it on the lowest it would go and it still was pretty hot.
Bottom line: Is it worth the price? No not really. For the price you pay the rooms should be nicer and newer, cleaner, and more amenities available. You really are paying for the views. It’s like living in NYC or at an apt facing the skyline of NYC. Paying for the view that’s all.
Suggestions: Listen folks, if you stay any hotel post covid many of them have suspended housekeeping during your stay unless you request it and that too they only do it after 3 day stay. Many places have cut back staff in all areas so they’re stretched out thin and you as the guest can see it!! Housekeeping won’t come up and bring towels or toileteries you have to go to the front desk itself. If you know you’re staying here for the week bring your own cleaning supplies (which we do as standard practice anyways) and bring your own extra soap and shampoo etc. we had extra tp as well always a good practice to...
