Drafts Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

To call this place a sports bar is an absolute joke.... We found this place while visiting Myrtle Beach on vacation and googling "sportsbars near me"to find a place to watch the NBA finals. Being on the main road beachside but located on the first floor of a hotel, there is no designated parking for the Bar/resturant. We parked a few blocks away and walked. Walking in off the street no one greets you, you have to look for the hostess stand that is located next to the bar. We grabbed seats at the bar, and the only good thing I will say about this place, is that the female bartender working her first shift 6/14/19 was friendly, and did try her best to attend to us. Her boss, as she referred to him, training her was lackluster to say the least and seemed annoyed by everything we asked him. The finals were on only 2 TVs of 20 in the resturant, and on none of the TVs behind the bar (4), and there was no sound for the game, just some random resturant auto station with terrible music. The only tv playing the game was behind us sitting at the bar so we asked the bartender if we could get the game on one of the tv's behind the bar, to which she explained it was her first night, and she would have to ask her boss to change. After waiting about 10 minutes when I noticed her boss back behind the bar and asked him nicely if we could get the game on one of the tv's behind the bar, to which he seemed annoyed and told me "one minute mam when I can...." then walked off to the computer with the bartender to teach her something new.... we were 2 of only maybe 30 people in the place, only 4 sitting at the bar, and with about 6 servers crowded around the hostess stand doing nothing... Our food came and we waited another 20 minutes sitting backwards to try and watch the game, to which I noticed every other patron in the place was having to do watching the only tv with the NBA FINALS ON! 2 of the tv's behind the bar were playing a random sitcom. They never changed the tv's, never made any effort to acknowledge our multiple requests. With over 14 years experience in the service industry, I can say the "boss" or manager is completely incompetent. The food was ok, we would have happily stayed for more then 1 drink each if they would have made any effort to be a sports bar and turn on the game. To the bartender that was her first night, the only advice I can offer is run as quick as possible to the next job opening, I give this place 4 months til it goes under. It's a hotel bar you go to out of...

The only reason I really rated this place with any stars was that the food was delicious. The reason for the low rating was greatly due to the service and the speed.

We had a late evening reservation they did not seem prepared for. We were placed at a table where they added chairs versus adding another table with chairs, so we were very crowded. Our server was snail's pace slow and only came to us maybe 2x during our entire meal. She took an eternity to bring our entire party's initial drinks, then it was an eternity for her to come to take our order. We waited almost an hour for our food. I would have to say the place was moderately busy yet her presence on the floor was nearly nonexistent. It is always beyond me how parties are charged a 20% gratuity automatically for having a party of 6+. I am not above tipping 20%+ on my own accord but when the service doesn't deserve it, it isn't right. We got a refill on our drinks toward the end of our meal and for a couple who had ordered alcoholic beverages, they just sat at the bar watering down. She wasn't even the one who brought our food to the table and when it came to asking for condiments etc we had to flag down other staff. Interestingly, when it came time to clear our plates, there were three staff doing this and this was probably the fastest we had seen anyone move all night.

By the way, while I should have taken an updated photo of the menu, it is NOT what is shown on opentable or possibly what comes up on here. It has been greatly reduced, where most of the seafood is no longer served. The seafood platters (which was the draw for us) are not served there, some of the triple layer desserts weren't on there etc.

I will say the killer jumbo boneless wings are absolutely amazing. Pass on the seasonal vegetables, they are absolutely the frozen kind microwaved, with the round carrots with the grooves in them and 90% broccoli stems.

As for parking, we looked for parking, circled a few times there was none available, none offered/valet. So we drove back 3 blocks to our hotel and walked there. We really wanted to sit outside to take in the ocean front view but they informed us they were not seating anyone...

We visited this restaurant during our family vacation this weekend. The food was DELICIOUS, although they didn't have a very large menu, needed more seafood options. The wings were amazing though! The staff seemed nice and helpful, everyone EXCEPT the server we had at our table. He wasn't wearing a name tag, so not sure his name to inform management. But he was incredibly rude and distracted. He quickly asked for our order without writing it down and walked away. Then came back and quickly repeated the order to us and walked away again as we tried to correct part of the order that was wrong. When he gave us our drinks, he threw the straws down at the table. He never once checked to see how our food was or if we needed anything else. We tried to get his attention to add a drink to our order and he completely ignored us. Finally we were able to ask another server. When we were finished, we asked him for a to-go box and a plastic bag. The box he threw down on the table and the bag he LITERALLY balled up and threw at my husband. 😳 Needless to say we did NOT leave him a tip. We absolutely could not believe how rude he was. I can understand if you're having a bad day, but that gives you no right to treat others so badly....especially a customer of your resturant! It is very sad that one rude server could make part of our vacation so unpleasant. And it is unfortunate for the resturant that he works there. The food was good and rest of the staff...
