This place needs to be shut down.
As a local I've noticed several problems! On their Facebook page they can't provide with a CERTIAN closing expectation and it seems they're simply telling the customers what they WANT to hear, typical for a company that just bought the park 2-3 years ago and jacked the prices up, almost doubled. Many of the rides are hardly operating when I visit. Just to name a few that have regular problems, The Vertigo (swings), The Galleon (pirate/viking ship), the train, and scariest of all to have problems, The Swamp Fox wooden Coaster.
Earlier this season when I was attending the park a support beam of the wooden Coaster fell and took out the first cart as the ride WAS IN OPPERATION! Thankfully no individuals were hurt. However I noticed the ride was continuing to operate well into the later hours, without repair nor inspection.
A ride operator let an INFANT on the Hurricane (a ride that catches so much speed you HAVE TO BE 12 to ride alone, state law). And I observed the gentleman LAUGH at the individual who tried to aid and inform him that he can't do that and proceeded to tell them "I don't care!" Needless to say I was absolutely appalled and never revisited that ride.
The operators on a few rides don't even check the safety harnesses on all passengers! It's even occurred to me PERSONALLY on the Techno Jump. I wasn't even aware the ride had Seat Belts until my 3rd time on it! And when I questioned the operator as to why I wasn't informed, he simply shrugged and kept walking!
One little boy mistook my blue shirt as an employees once and cried to me that he almost lifted out of the Log Flume due to no safety restraints on the ride. After riding it myself I discover he was CORRECT! As there's barely a seat and the only 'safety' is holding onto the side rails for dear life! Which may not work so a smaller individual:(
They DO NOT care about the safety of your children, I apologize I have no images of the rides, I included screenshot fo the company giving inconsistent 'end of season' information.
The outside may have a fresh coat of pain and new rides but the reality...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to the park yesterday and arrived at opening and stayed until close. This park has completely changed from the park I’ve been going to since I was little. I’ve been going multiple times a year every year for about 10 years now. There’s a few nice workers but a lot of them don’t seem to care at all. Don’t bother to check if the ride is secured or just plain rude. The water gun race game has always been a favorite of mine for years. It’s completely rigged now. At $10 a person this is ridiculous. We wanted to go for the big prize so we’d wait for about 20 minutes then go on a ride and come back until there was enough players, in total took about 2 hours for enough people to play for the big prize. The water will change direction slightly mid game and when I brought it up to the worker, he shrugged his shoulders and said if I wanted to go again I can pay him another $10 and wait for more people. We asked him several times while waiting if it was rigged being that it was a different machine than the one in previous years and he assured us it’s a fair race like it’s always been and not rigged. This game being rigged, on top of majority of the workers being rude completely ruined my experience. This is not the family kingdom I grew up with, now it’s a money hungry company that doesn’t care about their guests experience. If you do go, DO NOT play the games. Most are rigged, nearly impossible to win, or require extremely high amount of money for a decent prize. There’s about 2 games worth playing which are the balloon pop games, one with darts and one...
Read moreWent there a few nights ago, hoping the new owners turned this place around. Was greeted by a very rude woman, with no teeth, laughing at us because we printed off our Groupon tickets instead of using my phone. I know that may not be a big deal to some, but it was unnecessary to laugh and make a big deal about it. I calmly told her I did it for her, thought it would be easier and also incase my phone would have died. She said she had a charger and that paper was old school. I really doubt she would let me hold up a line to charge my phone to get my tickets off my phone. There were about 50 people behind us that she was holding up and would’ve been a lot faster and smoother if she didn’t have to make such a big deal about tickets being printed off. Also, there were other unpleasant workers, who hated their jobs. The woman at the mirror maze, the workers at the log flume and the two men at the shooter ride were all very nice. I have been coming here for years, since I was a kid and was hoping the new owners cleaned it up and found people who actually enjoy their jobs, but I was wrong. The new rides definitely, an update but not worth the rudeness of their employees. Of course the price went up to $50 a wristband, thank goodness we had Groupon and got them for $35. Still pricey for the way we were treated and the way the park handles issues. It costs $15 to park in a tiny parking lot that they have. Try and find a meter, if they’re not full. Unfortunately, this will probably be our last...
