Naples’ Fujiyama’s Steakhouse isn’t what it used to be. BUT, Chef Andre is the legend here, but all others seem to have picked up his knack for making us feel good about the hibachi experience.
Tonight’s dinner shrimp were smaller than I remember from many times before (tonight 51-60). In the past, shrimp served with dinner portions were closer to a 31-40 and I’m not sure if they were fresh or not tonight. In past experiences, the shrimp always had a crisp snap and fresh taste, not the case this evening. Atmosphere is always fantastic which is certainly heightened by the chef and his level of excitement. The onion towering volcano and shrimp toss is always fun.
This is a great but costly experience for a celebration or group gathering . Dinner for two with two drinks $94 before tip. Regarding group sizes, don’t exceed a party of 9 or you’ll be split up and sat at two Hibachis. To the waitstaff, I would prefer not having to call for drinks and to the Chef, keep it happy as you...
Read morePros: Sushi, sashimi and hand rolls were the most fresh and generous portions we've seen from Canada/USA Price is acceptable for Napels standards The assistant staff that clean up are super friendly, fast, attentive, well spoken and great manners Clean restaurant, good lighting, accommodating, great welcoming staff
Cons: The waitress serving us (dark hair, glasses) was the first waitress we've encountered in years of travel that was so rude. To the point that I'm fairly confident she would rather not be working there on a Sunday. A lot of 'mm hmm' when we say thanks. Bossed around the workers rudely. My heart sank every time she brought something to the table knowing we'd have to deal with her.
Sadly wouldn't go back because of her but if you're lucky and don't get her def a must-try. I assume due to the busy nature of the holidays everyone was a bit stressed but everyone seemed...
Read moreRestaurant has been there a long time. Since the other tepan restaurant had just got a really bad review from one of their long time patrons because of cockroaches and a rude new manager we decided to try Fujiyama. Walked in at 5:10 and "The Hostess" looked at the 3 of us and snarled do you have a reservation. As she looked at her reservation book, we could see that there were not any names until after 5:30. she seated us and did not even say a word. The wait staff was good, chef was pleasant, the food was not good quality. I really do not like warm salad doused in "ginger" dressing. Maybe people visiting Naples think this is great, but when you are use to quality Japanese food, this is not the place. The restaurant was busy when we left, graduations and parties. Hostess applying makeup as we left. we will never give this place a "hey it was great".,...
