The fact that this place calls themselves a resort is a complete farce. When you arrive and see the campus, you feel as if you have been tricked. It takes over 11 minutes to walk to the pool through a residential area and parking lots. It was raining the first night of our stay so we took the shuttle back to our room - it only took 35 minutes!
They charge $45 daily resort fee and they don’t even have breakfast. A standard hotel will have a pool, gym, and breakfast on site. At Naples Bay “resort”, you get charged this fee and have to walk to their amenities; the resort includes items like virtual top golf and restaurants but you need to pay for those as well. You would be better off staying at the Hyatt across the street - they have a pool & gym on site (no walk!) and free breakfast at a much lower overall rate plus no resort fee! What exactly is this resort fee getting you?
But that’s not all! Here are some more issues
The cribs for babies do not come with fitted sheets - rather they give you regular sheets that you need to wrap around the mattress - this is a huge hazard for babies under 1 years old. Plus we needed to build the pack n play ourselves - some resort!
We needed milk for our baby the first night - but they don’t offer room service, they have no actual food on site, and their cafe closes at 6:00 ($5 delivery charge also lol). We were told the only milk available is at the club but no one can get it for us - proving that even they know their amenities are too far away lol. Instead they told us to order on DoorDash - some resort! I ended up driving to Publix myself - I bet the Hyatt across the street could have gotten some milk from their daily free breakfast.
The room is beautiful but the housekeeping is horrendous - they did the beds (they actually missed one) and bathrooms but literally nothing else, they left crumbs and magazines on the floor, and didn’t replace basic items like paper towels in the kitchen.
The blackout shades are not blackout at all and woke our kids up early.
They told us when we checked in that my card would have a $150 hold, but I woke up my first morning there to a $600 charge. They removed it when I called to complain.
I asked to speak to the manager after paying a resort fee and not getting basic hotel items like breakfast, blackout shades, housekeeping, proper bedding for babies, & a pool on site but the manager refused to come out from the back. Finally, when the manager did call me - she was quite rude.
She agreed to give us back $100, which I felt does not compensate all of the above items alone considering that I outspent that in the resort fee alone, when I told her that I would give her a one star review considering the price I was paying even with the $100 credit - her response was “Are you threatening me?” And then threatened to remove the $100 credit!
She told me that is the first she is hearing of some of my complaints - such as the blackout shades - and that she checks trip advisor every day. There are many complaints on this site about the blackout shades and the resort being a bait & switch.
When I asked her for her name 20 minutes into our call, she seemed to be insulted that I didn’t remember her name from the beginning of the call responding “You don’t know my name? My name is Nicole - N - I - C - O - L - E - Nicole”
Believe it or not, I can keep going but this review would be too long. This place is an embarrassment of a resort and I highly recommend choosing a place where your money will get you basic hotel accommodations. I’m a positive person so I will end on a good note - Thomas from valet is awesome and...
Read moreWe spent a week here with my brother in law and sister in law. They invited my husband and I on a vacation to celebrate my husband’s birthday. ||The resort itself was lovely. The staff were all professional and friendly. We really liked spending some time at the beautiful pools. ||We enjoyed walking around the shops and restaurants. We had an enjoyable dinner at Noah one evening. ||||The reason for the lower star rating. Was the room/unit we were in. ||The unit E106 was dated and plain. Definitely could have used some sprucing up. ||Couch and kitchen chairs all had stains on them. ||Walls are bare and plain not very inviting. Who puts wheels on a coffee table. That was a bit annoying. No area rugs anywhere or curtains on the windows. Just blinds?? ||This leads me to where it was terrible IMO. My husband and I had to sleep in the smaller front bedrooms. Each room had a huge single window with just a blind. This meant the very bright lights from the parking lot and walkway right outside of our room blasted light through so much so it was not dark and we got no sleep. My husband had to put a blanket over the window to help block some of the light. ||The beds in these front rooms are so small my husband and I had to sleep in separate rooms. The bedding on the beds was not the correct size. The pillow cases and non matched sheets all had rips and fringed edges. The mattresses kept moving and the dirt and debris not cleaned on the now showing mattress board was disgusting. The pillows get a zero if I could. Spend some money on real pillows and bedding. I would be embarrassed to have put these items in any room I was renting out. Luckily my sister in law had extra pillows in their room and was able to give us each one. Once we said we had to go out and purchase pillows. This was the worst week of sleep we have experienced. Sad since it was our vacation. ||Now our bathroom , there was no shower liner in the shower. The water flooded the bathroom the first 2 days we were there. Finally called the office to get us a shower liner put in. ||We ran out of toilet paper and had to go buy more. There is no where in the shower to put anything like all your shampoo, conditioners, razor etc. the sides are to small and everything kept falling off. ||This was not a great experience and we would not...
Read moreI recently stayed at Naples Bay resort for a 3 day trip, and my experience here at this hotel was unimaginably AMAZING!
If you’re anything like me, and worry about cleanliness (especially during the midst of a pandemic) this hotel is spot on! One of the 1st things my partner and I noticed was how clean the vicinity of the hotel and lobby was. There was always cleaning staff working around the clock and the room we stayed in was SPOTLESS. Small note-worthy detail; throughout the entire trip we even noticed how clean everything smelled in this hotel. Ever noticed how freshly clean it smells after you deep clean your home? That was it!
The service and staff members were very professional, accommodating and hospitable as well. Since day 1, we were always greeted with a smile and asked if more could be done to any services or questions we asked for!
We booked the Superior King room with the Marina view, and the view was a 10/10! My partner and I especially liked to walk around the hotel vicinity during sunrise and sunset. Beautiful lights hung everywhere, accommodating sitting areas with music to relax to and multiple flora decorated paths to walk alongside the river/estuary. If you’re lucky enough you may even encounter a manatee catching a breath while walking by the marina! (Make sure to stop by and read some of the informal signs the hotel has by the marina about manatees/manatee boat safety!)
Lastly the pool. Yes, the giant pool area isn’t in the same area that the hotel is located at. BUT relatively speaking, it’s only a 7-8minute walk to get to the pool/club area, a very beautiful scenic walk indeed, with benches along the way to sit and catch a breather if needed! AND upon arrival we were given a map to help guide us to the pool/club area. I like to make note that the staff also informed us that if we preferred not to walk that there was a hotel bus shuttle we could take OR they could call us staff who could come and pick us up in a golf cart (how fun!) Pool does close at 8pm (dusk) and it remains closed during thunder storms (I believe it reopens once the weather is clear :) )
P.s. There is actually a small pool/hot tub in the back of the hotel area by the marina/hotel shops.
There's always something to do/enjoy...
