This Embassy Suites was by far the worst I ever stayed at. As a Hilton Gold Member, I stay at many, Note: I had an 8yo child with me which is important for this review.
When we arrived on APR 5 we checked into our room early. However, upon further discovery in the evening one of our beds had dirt in it. At 10p we had to move rooms (This happens and I understand that).
The swimming pool was "murky" our first day. I was not sure why it was allowed to be open. In deference it was closed for cleaning. It makes me wonder if the pool is checked daily, because someone should have noticed this.
In our new room the phone did not work for 2 of the 3 nights we were there. I went to the front desk to articulate this to them, and they sent an engineer to correct it (after I asked 3 times) This is important because it is a large hotel and I wanted the front desk to reach us in our room in case of an emergency.
Of note: The breakfast was sub-par. When I visit an Embassy Suites, my expectation for Breakfast is to have fresh cut fruit. (Small Issue, but important when you have a child traveling with you). On April 7 there was an Anime Convention that came to the hotel. We returned to the Hotel at 830p to find out there was no parking. Keep in mind that you are charged 14.00 daily for parking. The situation was unsafe, as I had to struggle to find a parking spot. First, I spent an hour looking for a parking spot. Then I had to park in a fire lane under the hotel's awning. The answer to the issue was to park in overflow parking or on the street. This was not acceptable as my child was exhausted. We went up to the room for about an hour and half until 10p. I called the front desk when I was told that the Police were there. When I came down, the police were not there. I then spent another hour looking for a parking spot and had found one. I had another guest argue and cuss at me when I took the spot. It took me 2 hours to find a parking spot two different times. The convention goers were out of control. At 10p they were running the hallways with loud music. I told the front desk and they said they would tell security. My question is: Why didn't security (who was there) handle this pro-actively. In my opinion they should have known the situation and should have had awareness of what was transpiring. In speaking with the General Manager (Larry) he did not really offer a solution the next day. He could only offer me a credit on free parking. At the end of the day, we compromised for more money off my stay. Personally, I did not think it was enough. I also thought his attitude was dismissive rather than being pro-active. A good leader should have had an action plan for this convention. Instead, there appeared to be no planning.
In summary, I want to articulate that this hotel is not suitable for families with young children. The expectation is that when you have a child, you should park on the street or overflow parking down the street. This is just not acceptable. If I would not have asked for a credit, I would not have gotten one. I would expect, as a Gold member who generates a great deal of revenue for the brand to be treated better. I won't stay here in the future for business our pleasure. I would recommend, that unless you want to deal with a parking nightmare; you don't either.
Special Note: Kudos to Aaron in the evening for going over and above to recognize my situation and address it the best he could. Thank you sir. I wish you had support from...
Read moreI have stayed here a couple times. The last time our room was a problem. I reached out to corporate and they told me that the property would contact me back. I have a customer service claim number. The property has not contacted me back after 3 wks. So I'm going to write a review.
First off, it says they have a shuttle on the info online. We called multiple times from the airport and no one answered the phone. It was not even during a busy time, it was like 4pm. We went to ground transportation and looked for the bus, never saw it. So we just got a taxi. That was $19. When we got to the hotel, there were two ppl standing there at the front desk. I told them I called a number of times and we looked for the shuttle with no luck. They were clueless. They did tell me that to go back via the shuttle it cost $10/pp. Is this true? It never says that online. I also have no idea why it would be so expensive. We have 3 kids. It would have cost $50? For about an 8min ride? What? Again, I can't find this info anywhere so I'm not sure if the employee was uninformed but, this is surely a bad policy and misleading if so.
Second issue and probably a bigger one....there were bugs in my room. I'm not even saying one bug. There were three different kinds of bugs in my room. We were at the end of the hall near the vending machine and ice. The room looked like it probably isn't used often and given the location perhaps it draws bugs? Either way, there was a BABY ROACH. A roach. A small red roach.
I am a diamond member. When I called to tell Hilton this and I let them know I have a picture, they gave me 15,000 points and told me the hotel would contact me back. Um? A hotel costs 50,000-75,000 pts generally speaking. I thought she was saying 50k, no 15. Did you not understand that I said there was a roach in my room?
The hallways are so dirty and dark it is just gross. After COVID this hotel was clean. Now it looks like it's lived a lot of parties in 5yrs. The carpet needs cleaning and the walls need to be scrubbed or repainted.
I am really getting tired of Hilton letting embassy suites go downhill. We have stayed at embassy for 12+ years but the maintenance is lacking and Hilton doesn't seem to give a rip. It used to be a nice hotel with an ambience and rooms that felt like suites. Now it feels like a cheap hotel. They are more interested in building new smaller cheap hotels like Spark and Tru. I do not care about those hotels and I am fine paying a little extra for more space and more perks. I am a diamond member and I want consistency. This hotel and the experience following were completely satisfactory.
As another tiny side note, but it needs to be addressed by corporate is the temperature of the pool. It is incredibly cold and I'm not sure what the legal temperature should be. I'm guessing it is in the 70s.
I also feel bad for the employees, like in the restaurant and the bar. They're so good. They have worked there for years and they're holding it together. I enjoy some of these employees like the lady who is the bartender.
I would recommend...
Read moreMy family and I stayed on this property between 24-28 Nov 2024, for our first-ever visit to Nashville because of its proximity to the airport and surrounding areas. Overall, I "liked" this property as depicted in my 4-star rating because there were many positives with this visit. However, there were a few areas that prevented me from rating this a 5-star experience. Details to the pros and cons below:
ROOM: In general, I liked the room we stayed in (2 queen suite). The bed was adequate; the room was spacious with that additional living space; the water pressure was perfect; the tv was a decent size with plenty of channels available to us; and the wet bar area (second sink) along with the mini fridge were very helpful to have. On the other hand, when you have that extra living area, you sacrifice space in other areas...in this case, the bathroom was pretty small. Personally, I would rather have a larger bathroom than a larger living area because I enjoy more counter space. Also, the water was draining a little slower than desired in the shower, but it was manageable. Furthermore, the pillows were less than adequate - we tried to use additional pillows for comfort but it didn't matter; we just didn't enjoy the style of the pillow (caused slight neck and head pains). And finally, there was a wood panel that was broken right below the wet bar sink (see attached photo). Clearly it didn't impact our comfort level but I would suspect that details like these should get resolved before anyone occupies a room.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: The employees at this property were phenomenal. Between the front desk staff, to the folks at the breakfast station, to the housekeeping staff (minus one employee - she was grumpy), we were grateful for their hospitality.
PROPERTY (in general): Although this property is on the older side, it is well maintained (definitely not perfect) - the lobby area is nice and beautifully landscaped. I was a little annoyed that I had to pay for parking while staying on this property. I guess we pay for parking no matter where we stay whether it's a separate charge or if it's incorporated into the room charge. I wish, however, this property would reduce the parking fee for people staying longer than 3 nights, as an incentive. Also the location of this hotel is adequate, but I wished there was a more direct (easier) route to Interstate-40. Surprisingly, I didn't utilize the pool or gym areas, but I did walk through both areas and was satisfied with what it offered.
As mentioned earlier, I liked this property overall - the hotel rate was reasonable and the property provides comfort. I probably won't stay at this property again during my next visit to Nashville because I'll want to stay closer to downtown area, but if I needed to stay here again, I wouldn't complain. I'm recommending this property...
