This was the worst experience at a Holiday Inn EVER. If I could give zero stars I would. Some of the staff, including one of your managers and a security guard, are unprofessional and incompetent. First, the pictures on the site of the hotel do not show a realistic picture of the property. It appears to have more ample parking than it actually does. When my husband and I arrived at the hotel, we quickly realized that parking our Uhaul truck and trailer was going to be a little more difficult than we thought. There were other Uhauls parked sideways along the perimeter of the lot, which left us no space around the perimeter to duplicate the same. There was a back row of about 8 empty spaces. So my husband parked along those spaces (which still left about 25 spaces late in the evening) and my husband and I went to check in. The young lady at check in knew we parked there, because when we went inside to check in we told her. We were even asked by her to write our make and model down as, "Uhaul and trailer". However, after going back to the truck to make sure it was secure for the night and to gather our personal items, a security guard approached us. He said the truck was too big and that we could not park it that way. His approach to the entire situation was off-putting and rude. We weren't trying to double park at some night club or bar. But the way he approached us in the lot and spoke to us- like a bouncer, that's what it felt like. I explained that we had already checked in and the desk clerk was aware. I then pointed to 2 other Uhaul trucks in the lot, including one that was the same size as our truck, minus the trailer. He said he had just gotten to work (we arrived around 8:30pm) to see all of the trucks in the lot and none of us should be there. I asked what his solution was to the problem and he didn't know. Just kept repeating that we couldn't park inside the lot. Even suggested that we park out on the street but there was really no street parking without blocking a lane and also we didn't feel comfortable putting our truck out on an unfamiliar road with literally all of our possessions. We said we would just leave after a refund. But he said the hotel doesn't give refunds. I responded that if they were denying parking then we needed a refund so we could go park at a hotel that could accommodate. He said that he would call one of the managers who had gone home. He then proceeded to call her on FaceTime While she was IN BED to show her the truck and tell her what was going on. Her solution was to park the truck against the inside closed side of the fence which was great. Only one entrance was open. My husband's spent nearly 15 minutes maneuvering the truck into that space only for her to decide that she didn't think it was okay to park there.. By this time, it was nearing 9:30 pm. We had just driven for 11 hours to be met with this ridiculous clown show. She offered a refund, and now at 9:30 after wasting time we were left with a difficult choice to park outside on the road, in a lane or risk sleeping in the truck for the night. The security guard promised to keep his eyes on her truck because he said that it was his job to sit outside all night. Then he said he would "authorize" a parking refund for me. Oh how gracious, since I couldn't park there. The picture on this site needs to accurately show the perimeter. It also needs to specifically say that U hauls/moving trucks can't be parked at the hotel. Your security guard needs to know his place and when he should interfere between customers and the staff. He also needs to worry about doing his actual job rather than posturing himself. We went back to our truck twice before bed. He wasn't around either time. And lastly, it's crazy that you don't have a night manager for customer concerns. I'd never stay here again. I am an IHG Member and it really has me...
Read more3.11.25 update - I will never stay at this property again and do not recommend to anyone! I was in Nashville for work this past week and stayed at this property. My DND sign was on my door when I left for work Tuesday morning. Upon my return my bed had been made, towels changed, trash taken out. What was also missing was a prototype sample for work that I needed for a meeting the following morning. This sample cost my company $685 to have it produced. Then I had 6 people travel into town as well to review and hopefully approve the sample - one of those people came all the way from France. Upon discovery of my missing item I notified the front desk who called housekeeping, the manager, and a translator. Raymond was the manager and he came to my room, spoke with the housekeeping staff, and even looked around in the trash for it. Ultimately he could not locate it and he offered to basically give me a free night because that was all he could do. While I understand there was not a lot he could do I had to go to work the next day and tell my boss and other people on our leadership team what had happened. It sounded just like "the dog ate my homework" I am sure. This incident has officially delayed the launch of this new product and caused a lot of additional work for me and my team. I will NEVER return to this property and may leave IHG all together. There is a Hilton right across the street. Already booked my next trip to Nashville there.
I come to Nashville about once a month for work and THIS is my IHG destination. I have stayed at other properties in town but they are more catered to the Nashville nightlife and tourism scene. This hotel is close enough to go enjoy that if desired but also far enough from it that it's not wrapped up in the Nashville Hustle and Bustle. It's close to so many fantastic restaurants. There is a Starbucks and a gas station within walking distance and plenty of sidewalks and neighborhoods by it to take an evening stroll. My rooms are always clean and the staff has gone above and beyond to accommodate my ever changing work schedule and last minute...
Read moreThis hotel is a hidden gem for the casual business traveler or anyone else needing quality accommodations for a night or two in Nashville. I’ll begin with the well designed and appointed room. I always stay in a double queen suite. The room is not large but the design of the furnishings make it feel much more spacious than it is. A large wall mounted television opens up the desk/dresser space an allows ample room to setup my mobile office and have plenty of space remaining for other items as well. Beds, sofa, and chairs are very comfortable and well maintained. The bathroom is quite large with excellent lighting and a tiled walk-in shower. There is also a small kitchenette-type area with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and extra shelving and storage. A large cabinet and wall hooks help keep the room tidy.
The breakfast/coffee area is very clean and well staffed. A buffet style hot breakfast is served and although the quantity of choices lacks at times, the quality of choices is always high. And for you coffee drinkers, the coffee is quite good and is available 24 hours. If the coffee is not fresh when you get there, the staff will be more than happy to make a fresh brew if you ask.
Now, let’s talk location. Located just off of I-65 in the heart of MetroCenter, this hotel is perfectly located no matter what your reason for visiting Nashville. Morning commute to downtown Nashville takes about 10 minutes or less. Hotel coffee/breakfast not your thing? There is a Starbucks and a Dunkin right around the corner. Want to visit a cool and revitalized Nashville neighborhood? Germantown is less than 5 minutes away, The Nations is about 10
Minutes, and East Nashville/Five Points is about 12. Just want to stay in? The hotel staff have an extensive list of delivery menus from local restaurants and have never steered me wrong with their recommendations.
Bottom line, this place is an excellent value (for Nashville) and perfect for the the business traveler or a casual...
