This is one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I was travelling for one night to NYC on early October and looking forward to staying here as the reviews and the look where good. Not only was there noisy rooms because of the waybit has been designed but I also experienced the neighbour being very loud as all banging on the wall at 0130 in the morning. The windows are not double glazed so I was subjected to a couple fighting verbally on the street right outside my room. The pipe work on the ceiling was continually making an irritating noise all the time. The only up side was the staff who as with the States are always trying to do their best with what they have. I was given an upgrade to the penthouse floor on 4th around 0200 only to find that they had a massive generator right outside the suite. In the morning at 0430 onwards large industrial trucks started to move around the place and then the generator kicked in on top of that. BE AWARE they are also converting the top level penthouse area into a roof bar which will be right outside at least 3 of the roof suites. The place is badly thought out and poorly kept as I was told there is a minimal amount of double glazing as the owners saw fit that they didn't want to spend that type of money. I expect 1 thing when I stay at any hotel at any level of comfort which is to be able to sleep without minimal noise around me. This place is over priced for what it is located in an industrial area. The nightlife is adequate and the transport too but at the end of my stay I was leaving and they offered to get me a taxi to the airport or is have used an Uber. When I arrived at the airport getting out of the taxi the man looks at me and tells me I need to pay. When a hotel after a night from hell offers to get you a taxi you'd expect that to be covered. Extremely embarrassing and extremely rude of them to put me in that position. As said the place isn't worth 're money they ask for its seriously in need of a rethink and an upgrade all over. Please see the attached pictures from.the roof Penthouses area. Unbelievable to say the least. Also note that my upgraded penthouse the ceiling fan was ready to break off and probably do a lot more damage to me than it would to itself. It was hanging on for dear life and they wanted £320 plus for this endangerment to life. I still can not get over just how bad of a stay it was and in have stayed in some bar hotels in the past.

It's actually such a beautiful hotel. I am definitely only staying here the next time I am in Brooklyn. Both the morning and night staff are really nice and polite. I was never disturbed by housekeeping and the rooms...wow. The rooms are super cool and filled with beautiful, vibrant pieces of art. They are so well thought out, and the place has a lot of character. The bed is super comfortable, and they provide an extra comforter if you need one. Amenities are free in the room, including the toiletries, which are customised and smell absolutely fabulous. I loved the little seating and dining area in the room. It felt like my own little apartment. It was a quiet neighbourhood, and I had a great night of sleep. They had some muffins and coffee and fruit which they gave for free and they held my bag for me till I was picked up which was very convenient. Plus, the pens at the front desk are fantastic. Actually, the best pens I have ever received at a hotel. I love a good pen. The only thing I would say about the location is that it's a bit confusing on the GPS in terms of ETA. And keep enough on your card for $250 security deposit on check-in. Take a receipt!

Service is phenomenal and I mean phenomenal. The front desk have been so helpful and kind during my stay. The other staff are very hospitable as well. You can tell they truly care about providing a good experience. Breakfast is continental. They have fresh fruit, coffee, tea, yogurt, and the tastiest little pastries. My favorite is the pecan tarte. The juice tasted a bit too much like concentrate but that’s just a personal preference. They also provide free lemon water 24/7. Rooms are very unique and spacious. If someone in your family loves architecture and building, they would love the small details and history of the building. Location is good if you’re okay taking a taxi ride into the city. It’s about a 12 minute walk to local restaurants. It’s in an area of the city surrounded by warehouses, not other hotels or apartments. For a solo woman, I wouldn’t walk to nearby restaurants at night by myself but it isn’t a busy area at all. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again.

Bed Bugs and one of them is the manager Nathan. Stayed here for 5 days for a close friends wedding. Front end staff were pleasant, hotel was clean, and the location is totally decent.

The sad matter of fact is that my wife and I both received bed bug bites on our arms; they appeared the last day and progressively got worse on our plane ride home. Once we arrived home we looked at the welts on our arms and the patterning and, with the help of Google, realized it was bed bugs. We stripped all of our clothes and bags down in the laundry to ensure it was localized, vacuumed our suitcases, and thoroughly inspected all our items to make sure we didn't bring them into our home.

I reached out the next day to the hotel to inform them of what happened. It's worth noting that I was very kind and respectful in my conversation with the first staff member. He promised to put me in touch with the manager and that this would be handled in a serious manner.

I have to say that the way in which the manager Nathan handled this was extraordinarily disrespectful. From the get go, he was vague, didn't leave his name, was skeptical (which I can understand, but he crossed over into disrespectful) and never responded at all to the email that I sent. When he called, he called from WhatsApp, which seems shady, at best. As if they are trying to prevent any sort of paper trail for our conversation.

Over the next week I had two elevated conversations with Nathan the manager, received no condolence of any form, let alone compensation or offer to offset any of our trouble. I was told that the rooms were inspected and nothing was found, so it has "nothing to do with the Henry Norman Hotel". He even insinuated that it might be an issue with "our living conditions at home," which just added insult to injury.

When I asked for simple transparency to share the inspection report for the two rooms we stayed in, he told me they did not have to provide that information. This would have absolved them as well as saving me time writing this review. In a case like this it is a admission of guilt - no bed bugs clean inspection case closed.

He also insinuated that we would be blackmailing them to leave a negative review. While I do feel like some sort of compensation would be appropriate for our trouble, it was not required for me to be satisfied in our exchange. What I was seeking was transparency and respect, neither of which I received from Nathan. Apparently "they don't have a corporate contact and he is the top dog" - his words - we will see about that.

It doesn't seem like the hotel has an infestation, per se, but all it takes is one bad bug to leave some nasty and uncomfortable marks on your arm and bad taste...

I stayed at the Henry Norman this past Sunday - Tues. I decided to book here because it is a short trip to my son's apt. I flew in to the area Sunday morning, up since 330 AM and spent from the flight and getting to the area. I spent some time waiting to register as they say not until 3 but at around 1230ish I made my way through the rain there. The front desk indicated they didn't have any rooms yet so I waited a bit and roughly 30 min later went back to the desk to see if I could leave my suitcase and go find my son who I had come to see. At the moment the front desk indicated they had a room available - got a key and headed up. The key did not work and so I had to find a cleaning person who opened the door and the front desk brought a new key that worked. Quickly unpacked and headed to see my son to spend the remainder of the day. After dinner they walked me back to see my room and say good night as I was done and just wanted to sleep as we had a full day planned the following day. Before heading to bed the room seemed stuffy to me and I went to adjust the thermostat down. Settled in I noticed the room got warmer vs cooler so I looked at the thermostat and noticed it was ok by the unit was blowing hot air. Turning things off/on temperature down as far it would go did nothing, so I went downstairs for help to find the front desk staff alone and telling me they had no one to fix it. One did accompany me back up - did the same things I did to sometimes get cooler air that would turn to hot. They said they didnt think they had any rooms to move me but they found a suite I think and I repacked and moved roughly an hour into my returning. They also indicated that room was taken the following day they thought. Unsure what was going on I left all my clothes, toiletries packed. Went down the following morning tot he same front desk as the day before - didn't know if a/c would be fixed - acted like they wanted me to hang out until they knew in case I needed to move. That's not why I travelled to wait in my hotel - my stuff is still packed - you can let me know and if need be move my suitcase. Never heard from anyone but spent the day with my son exploring things. Came back early evening to ready for dinner and went to the hotel to see where and if I was staying. They had moved my suitcase and never informed me. My clothes stay in my suitcase and I partially unpacked to dress for dinner trying to find something that wasn't totally wrinkled. Not sure I will stay again. Not sure why a discount wasn't offered or my clothes ironed for me. There were many things they could have...

My dad stayed here for one week The staff was very sweet and kind and there’s no issues there, however…. So many things were wrong My dad being disabled and handicapped had a lot of problems with his stay. First, there is only one mirror in bathroom No coat hook to hang up coats. The kettle wasn’t working, I had to buy one. The fridge was so tiny by the time my dad placed his insulin and medications in there he had no space for his food. The room was cleaned one time for a 7 day stay. I had to beg the housekeeping to come. They gave us towels one time. The manager had to bring my dad a table to the room so he can sit and use his laptop. I requested silverware prior to coming. I had to ask again in person. The hotel isn’t very accommodating to older folks and the hotel is for a young vibe. My dad is very old fashion and he was very upset with his stay. I wanted to move to another hotel, but that was the closest he can walk to the business he had in the area that week. there is NO parking unless it’s sketchy up the block. The breakfast is $10 a day for vegan muffins , croissants and they tasted like dog treats. I booked this hotel thinking it would be different or upscale, but completely opposite. Before the booking I asked for any details on the rooms or any suggestions the receptionist was rushing me off phone telling me to book a room with a kitchen. First off, the room was $400 a night sometimes and my dad would kill me if he knew how much I paid for the hotel for one week. It cost over $2600 for that stay including a $250 hold. My dad said this place didn’t deserve not even $100 night. He had a hard time getting out shower, almost slipped and fell. He is old school so the chairs were made of weird material where you will fall out the chair it’s not very comfortable And when the sofa bed was pulled out, there was no space to Walk Every night at 1am I heard knocks on the door Very creepy. My baby daughter heard the noise and was so scared. The people who work there are really kind and sweet However, corporate needs to call me This place needs help! I can definitely give some advice on what a customer needs depending on the age group. It was the biggest waste of money! All for my father who has cancer to come to NYC to get treatment all the way from FLORIDA.. and he chose this hotel, being his biggest regret. He’s mad at me for this! Yet I’m stuck with...
