I was very excited to come here to get a whole goat for a wedding. I wanted it skin-on and burned. Typically when I get this the skin is burned and it is hairless. Here, the skin is still quite hairy and I’m concerned my guests will feel uncomfortable with that. It’s a terrible feeling in the mouth. Also, the butcher did not adhere to size I requested. He didn’t even ask me how I wanted it cut, which was odd. I had to interrupt and ask to see the size he started with then I ok’d it. When I opened my bags the pieces were way too big and not fit for the dish I’m making. Why would anyone want huge bones or huge pcs of goat in their plate? They were much bigger than individual portions. While there were clean, I was disappointed by the lack of customer service by the butchers. I am not pleased over overall especially due to the end result of hairy jumbo goat chunks that have to be reprocessed. This was very expensive-almost $900- and should not have me in this position. Was very excited to have another halal poultry spot in the area but was dissapointed by the hijabi woman at the poultry window. She was very unwelcoming towards me - a black hijabi sister. Kept nodding for the other workers to help me instead of her self as if she did not want to service me. She gave me an issue regarding tickets which i understood but refused to communicate with me & kept getting the cashier to speak to me as if there was a language barrier. Everyone else was very nice and unlike other poultry spots the venue is beautiful. Just reiterated to the sister that the area is full of people that look like me and if she had a personal issue she shouldnt make it the downfall of the business.
